Cut and pasted from their website: "In its exhibitions as in…read moreits cultural programming, it offers a multidisciplinary vision combining anthropology, history, archaeology, art history and contemporary art, in order to show the public the various facets of the Mediterranean world and its ongoing dialogue with Europe." Quality/Quantity - Cool fort looking museum. Sorry, I am missing pictures. Also, see below. Ambiance - Huge location. I think 3 buildings that are connected by bridges which is very cool. Sorry, I guess the pictures did not get uploaded...? A great outdoor space, so many kids on field trips. Book store. Restaurant. Events; see their website. Clean bathrooms. Service - Self service. Price - Family rate = 18 Euros ($21 US) for two adults and 1-5 kids. 11 Euros ($13 US) for single adults or adults with NO kids. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success.

This is another must-see historical site to see when you are in Marseille. Unfortunately, due to…read morethe time constraints, we were not able to purchase a ticket and go up on top to walk across for a spectacular view of Marseille. Inside this contemporary museum, I understand it really shows off the beauty of European and Mediterranean culture. As astounding as all the displays are, one thing visitors should be aware of is the museum's photography policy. They have strict restrictions on photography, which they take very seriously, so adhere to the strict rule during your visit or risk losing your phone or camera. Very close to the waterfront and a great place to tour inside as well as the outside for stunning visuals. As for ticket prices, I cannot comment on those since my husband handled all of our reservations and admissions throughout the trip.

And I think we only saw 10% of it all, but I am sure and hopeful that we got the most important 10%. Ambiance - Again, beautiful. Two free museums. Even the lockers are free, ask for the token if you do not have 1 Euro for the deposit. See pictures. Service - Self service. Price - FREE!! Owner Comment - Thanks for such a positive free experience.

This was my personal favorite landmark I visited during my time in Marseilles. Don't get wrong, I…read moreliked the more popular Notre Dame, but I liked the vibe here better. It's nowhere near as crowded and in my opinion, has more local flavor. This beautiful water reserve has a park on the upper level which is a bit interesting to walk around with remnants of a bizarre zoo. It has its own listing so I will reserve my thoughts for there: https://www.yelp.com/biz/parc-longchamp-marseille-2 After a dire water shortage in 1835 causing a cholera epidemic, this reservoir was completed in 1869 to assist in preventing such an event again. Also....buildings taking 30 years to build is unfathomable to me! Nowadays, this monument also houses the Museum of Fine Arts in one wing and the Natural History Museum in the other wing. And between the two sides, the château d'eau has awe inspiring architecture marked with details in every crevice. This castle of water is just wodnerful. I'm not gonna pretend that an adorable dog swimming in one of the fountains bumped this review from a 4 star to a 5. I love animals and he was so adorably carefree!
