Homemade gelato? Count me in! This place was always crowded with people, but don't let that discourage you. The gelato is worth the wait. They have a wide range of flavors from vanilla to mango to stracciatella and more. This is by far the best gelato I've ever had. I was literally there almost every day after class, LOL. You got a sweet tooth??? Yes, this is your to go place! It's usually busy, but worth the wait. They serve the best chocolate ice cream I have had so far. Also, they serve good coffees. read more

Don't be put off by the line outside! You might have to wait a bit but it's definitely worth ist. You'll get the best ice cream ever!!! The flavors range from classic vanilla or stracciatella to non-standard ones like the devil ice cream which is a delicious combination from dark chocolate seasoned with chili. If I got the right information: it's all homemade. At least it tastes like it Go for it and have a try! read more

When in Osnabrück locals kept asking whether I had paid a visit yet to the famous institution…read moreSchlecks. I was curious, how can an ice cream parlour be so popular? I then realized why. The concept behind Schlecks is simple in theory, but in practice it is complicated: Choose ice cream, choose ingredients, friendly person behind the counter mixes them for you and stuffs them in a waffle cone. The difficulty arises from the fact that there are over 100 added ingredients, including various chocolate bars, seasonal fruits, nuts, American candy (think nerds and reese cups), cake (cheesecake, brownie, apple pie etc) and various other exciting possibilities. I was actually glad that there was such a long queue as I got a chance to think it through. I went for strawberry and vanilla ice cream with blueberries, raspberries, cheesecake and a fruits of the forest coulis, stuffed inside a white chocolate lined waffle cup cone. This is like really fresh custom-made Ben and Jerry's ice cream. I liked the fact that there were plenty of vegan options too. This is a great idea, as is proved by its popularity amongst locals and students alike.

Bei Fontanella wird Eis von ganz besonderer Qualität hergestellt. Die Karte ist sehr umfangreich und alle Eissorten sehr empfehlenswert. Fontanella blickt auf lange Tradition zurück und gehört sicherlich zu den besten Eiscafes, die ich kenne (das sind viele, weltweit). Dementsprechend ist auch die Bedienung sehr gut und immer freundlich. Die Preise können sich im Vergleich sehen lassen. Das Eis von Fontanella ist jedenfalls Kult !!! read more

Als Eissüchtiger kenne ich viele Eisdielen, habe schon etliches an Eis in meinem Leben gegessen und wenig gefunden, was wirklich so erstklassig ist wie dieses. Wer nun Fontanella als teuer erachtet müsste Ben & Jerry's als totalen Wucher bezeichnen. In Relation finde ich es deshalb extrem günstig und ich liebe jeden Besuch dort, ich mag die Mannschaft und meine Favoriten: Kinderschokobecher und Nougatbecher. :) read more
