Came here with a friend for a late lunch and it did not disappoint. Sat at the bar and Tyler took great care of us. I went with the house burger and fries and it was so yummy. I ate my entire plate. My friend got the freatchos and devoured it. The sauce that came with both was delicious. They offer a monthly/seasonal menu with sides and special burgers.

The food was very good. Our waitress was so attentive making sure, since it was our first visit, that we knew what everything was and could order accordingly. The Fried Green Tomato's were my favorite!

Where do I begin? My husband and I were passing through from out of town after a long road trip when we stumbled upon this place, and I'm so glad we did. On our first visit, we each ordered a burger, and they were absolutely incredible. Mine was so good that I practically inhaled it. While they don't have draft beer, they offer a great selection of canned beers served with ice-cold glasses, which made for a fantastic first experience. A few nights later, we came back for drinks and had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his family. Everyone was so welcoming and genuine. It's clear they truly care about their customers, their food, and creating a memorable experience for everyone who walks through the door. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and my husband tried the Pineapple Old Fashioned. Both were outstanding. We don't enjoy overly sweet Old Fashioneds, and these were perfectly balanced. I also tried a hibiscus cocktail that was creative, refreshing, and equally well-crafted. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with great vibes all around. It feels like one of those hidden gems that you almost don't want to tell anyone about--but it's simply too good not to share. As a bonus, they're getting ready to open a donut shop called Glazed & Dazed. We were lucky enough to get a taste, and let me tell you, it's going to be worth the visit. The donuts were the closest we've found to our all-time favorite donut shop, which is high praise coming from us. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Great food, exceptional drinks, wonderful people, and an experience that will have you planning your next visit before you've even left.

Matt our fabulous waiter suggested the Godfather baked beans and pigs in mud with honey Sriracha Everything was Amazing !!!!

Our service by Matt was fabulous! The pigs in mud the godfather and baked beans are amazing!

In the middle of my Mother's Day celebration, I did have a HORRIBLE experience at Food Freaks Hidden Gems, located at 115 E. Innes St. in Salisbury, NC. This was my first time visiting the restaurant. I was in Salisbury attending the 2:30 PM matinee performance of "Intimate Apparel" at Piedmont Players Theatre and decided to grab a quick meal downtown beforehand since I hadn't eaten all day. I arrived at approximately "Food Freaks" 1:40 PM and sat at the bar, where I ordered the House Burger with fries and sweet tea. After waiting approximately 25 minutes without receiving my food, I informed the bartender that I would need the order to go because I had to leave by 2:15 PM in order to arrive at the theatre before curtain time. At 2:15 PM, I reminded the bartender that I needed to leave. She checked on my order and at approximately 2:20 PM offered to refund my money because the food still was not ready. However, just as she was about to process the refund, someone from the kitchen announced that the food was ready. I took the order to my car, which was parked directly in front of the theatre, and attempted to eat a few bites before entering the performance. I first tried the fries, but immediately noticed they tasted as though they had been cooked in seafood or fish grease. I have a shellfish allergy, which I informed the bartender about before ordering, so this was very concerning. I did not eat another fry after the first bite. I then took one bite of the House Burger, and almost immediately my stomach began cramping. I could not continue eating it. Thankfully, I had peppermint candy in my purse to help settle my stomach. The only item from my $20.97 purchase that I actually consumed was the sweet tea. I returned the burger and fries -- and respectfully explained my concerns to the owner. Rather than showing empathy or concern for a customer experiencing stomach pains after eating his food, he refused to refund my money, stating that he "stands by the quality of his food." Well, I stand by my integrity. I had absolutely no reason to fabricate an illness or dissatisfaction. I simply wanted fair customer service after being unable to eat the meal I purchased due to concerns about food preparation and the physical reaction I experienced. Good customer service should include listening to customers, especially when food allergies and illness are involved. Unfortunately, that standard was not met at Food Freaks Hidden Gems. Paying $20.97 for burgers and fries I could not eat -- and then being denied a refund -- made an already disappointing experience even worse. Needless to say, I will NEVER patronize this restaurant again.

Wowzers!!!!! What a hidden gem. The atmosphere really presented a small town, home feel! The staff were welcoming and the menu provided enough options without making you feel overwhelmed. We ordered the Puff-Mento with crispy fries and the Mel with a cranberry salad. Wow!! The food was prepared to order and was very FRESH!! The patty was seasoned and the bread was soft! The pimento cheese and jam.... Wow! I literally have nothing negative to say about my meal! We plan to return!!!!!! It will be hard to pull us away from what we previously ordered but we look forward to the challenge!

OMG, amazing burgers. If you're a burger snob, this place is as food as it gets. The Old Fashioned features cherries in the actual burger. Sounds insane, right? Heck no. It was amazing. We split it and it was plenty of food. This food truck turned restaurant for good reason. They even cook their french fries in beef tallow. It's burger heaven on earth. We happened upon the place, but anytime I'm even close to Salisbury again, I'll be back!

Good fries, had carry out and everything kept well. Apple rings were a little oily but all the burgers were very good.

Kids had the grilled cheese ( which had so much cheese it was like eating a fresh pizza) and turkey croissant. Both ate their full meals. Husband had the cold cut sub and soup of the day and it was enjoyed. I had the turkey club and potato salad. All which were good. It's a smaller spot with the ordering counter and kitchen in the back and maybe seating for 26 or so. The folks behind the counter were friendly and the order process was simple. I got their sandwich special, the Buffalo Soldier. It was chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, and ranch on ciabatta. I made it a combo with chips and a soda. With tip I think the total was around $17. That was a touch more expensive than I was expecting especially with just a bag of chips on the side. The sandwich was good. Between the blue cheese and the ranch it was really creamy and most of the toppings slide off with the second bite. I don't mind a mess though! The ciabatta bread was the perfect compliment for the sandwich. It was a cute spot and I especially liked the creative sandwich names. I'd go back and try the chicken ceasar wrap next time.

Incredibly informative about the menu, friendly, thorough, and completely elevated the experience. I can't remember her name but she said she just celebrated her one year anniversary working there. The chef, Kyle, came to our table to discuss a food allergy of someone in our party and came back multiple times to talk to us. He was GREAT, and we could really tell he was experienced and loves what he does. What we got: Milk Bread - 100/10.... I could've eaten the whole thing myself. I would love to get ahold of this recipe... and the homemade butter. Oysters - 10/10 I was reluctant because of the past reviews, but they were outstanding. Some of the best oysters I've ever had in my life. Had a Bloody Mary seasoning. Chicken wing special - 100/10 wow and wow. I could've also eaten all six of these by myself. I held back ordering a second round. Tomahawk steak - 10/10 the flavor on this was unlike anything I have ever tasted before. Perfectly cooked and worth the price. The creamed spinach side that comes with the steak was also glorious. The potatoes that came with it were not my favorite, but they did the job. Cabbage special - 100/10 this may have been my favorite thing we ate all night. Unfortunately, the portion was not that big and I really wish there were more for the price. . It was outstanding. Panna cotta dessert - 8/10 I'm not a big dessert person so this was nice because it was not overly sweet and very light. The overall experience was wonderful. It was relaxed, we did not feel rushed. Atmosphere 10 out of 10. Service 10 out of 10. Food 9.999 out of 10. Steep price tag, but it was well worth it and we can't wait to come back when we visit again next year.

I was very pleasantly informed that I should've looked on Facebook, then I would've known the restaurant was closing early. That's not something I do when deciding on where I want to dine, but, lesson learned We ordered the "starter sampler" for an appetizer, which consisted of collard green dip with pita chips, fried green tomatoes, and deviled eggs with bacon jam! It was delicious!!!! For our entrees, we ordered the Collard Green Grilled Cheese, with seasoned fries, and the Southern Bowl. We also ordered Sweet Tea, and Signature Lemonade, both were good! But no free refills on the lemonade....The Collard Green Grilled Cheese was phenomenal, well seasoned greens, with smoked Gouda cheese on perfectly grilled buttered Texas Toast!!!! WOW!!!! The fries were hot and not overly seasoned!! The Southern Bowl was awesome, the grits were cheesy and creamy, topped with collard greens, and 2 perfectly seasoned fried flounder fillets! If I HAD to complain about something, it would be that there was just a tad too much "pot liquor" in my bowl and nothing to sop it up with‍ Fleming Street Bakery & Southern Cuisine is a great place to enjoy great food.
