The restaurant is spacious, very clean with fairly comfortable seating. Would easily accommodate large groups. The first bite sets the stage for a good curry and this one was excellent. A good kick straight away. The lamb was tender and I really enjoyed it with the basmati rice and the Raita. I ordered it "Indian hot" so unless you can handle authentic Indian, maybe go for "Kiwi hot". The portion size was quite large so come hungry or be prepared to take a doggy bag home. It was all excellent. My only negative is that they did not come to refill my water when it was empty. Overall very pleased and would come back again.

There's a popular takeaway out front with an inside dining area to the left. The menu was just as you would expect, no real surprises. We ordered the lamb saagwala and chicken biryani, but have to say they were disappointing. Small serves (even though we had not ordered the small option) and both meals, and the accompanying rice, were warm (not piping hot as you would expect). My best guess is they sat for ages in the kitchen before they were delivered. Also we had to ask for cutlery twice before we could start eating. Average dining at best, prob better to get your meals takeaway.

In my case, I had a case of food poisoning after having fish from here and I won't be rushing back to try it again. However, my relatives dine here regularly, and perhaps I was just unlucky, or it was an unhappy coincidence, but I am definitely once bitten, twice shy.
