I love this idea! In the winter things can get gloomy here in Amsterdam, and an indoor food festival is the perfect way to get out of the cold, wind, and rain and enjoy an afternoon! Per usual, you have to get tokens (if you translate the word the Dutch use for this, it translates as "Coins"). Head to any of the Kassas and grab your tokens...they even have ATMs for this purpose. Super handy!
Yes, it's expensive and that sucks. My husband and I tend to find something to try, get one and share it so we can try more things.
What I really love is the diversity of food. Waffles, tacos, BBQ, couscous, bugs (yes, real bugs), fries, tarts, cupcake, sausages, oysters, kangaroo, and so much more. There seemed to be plenty of space when I went, that was really nice. Rollende Keuken craziness isn't here!
Did I mention that I loved that it's indoors...oh and FREE entry! Again, they make up for this with the price of food.
At least with my coca-cola, I had to pay for the cup too. You can exchange it when you get another drink, but I didn't want another drink and I certainly didn't want to pay for the plastic cup that I was forced to keep and didn't want.
Overall, I love it and can't wait for next year! read more
