The Goodwood Foodland is a small supermarket. It can't rival the Woolies or Coles down the road for a huge amount of products and range, so it has to be picky. For this you'll find the occasional oddity on display that you would never expect to see, but must sell really well, and all the typical essentials you want in a supermarket.
They even have a fruit and veg section right at the very entrance, which stands up well against the grocer's a few shops over in price and quality, but not in range.
This Foodland is smart enough to recognise the threats to its prosperity around it like the grocer, butcher, bakery etc, by discounting heavily on a lot of items, and not just the perishables about to go out of date. It's always worth a stroll around the store because you could well find a few dollars off on smoked salmon, or crumpets.
I wouldn't say it's the best supermarket in Adelaide, but they're clever enough to exploit the space they have. read more
