If you remember, God saves the weak, and it takes many years to become strong, mature, and walking in the "love of Christ," so I don't concern myself with these babes, I pray for them. But I really learned a lot from this pastor (and his mannerism is great), and also he leads a weekly bible study that I attended. The Church service is more traditional, but alive, not dead. Your walk is what you make it, listen for the Spirit speaking to you through the sermon, and you will probably gain much. If you love, you will be loved (by most). If you know the Lord is drawing you to this church then go, serve, love, give, and do right. I was there for little season, and ended up at another church in Oakley, and God has shown me that is where I should be, and I've been there for years. But this pastor and his son were a great blessing to me, and I learn some VERY important things about the Bible, the Church, and the Spirit. Go and make friends with him and go to his studies, you will learn much, especially if you are a young Christian. He is a good, good pastor. You can't go wrong staying close to him and learning from this godly man.

Just had to clear that up ... Next to content and theology. I come from Sacramento , I moved to walnut grove. I drove to sac every week for church (Calvary chapel, church of Christ) and missed one week and decided to come here. I NEVER LEFT.... My fav pastors are Paul washer , David Wilkerson , and Charles Lawson... so I know when a pastor is preaching the unadulterated word of God. They do here. The pastor is on fire , lead by the spirit of God , and he prays for his congregation... there are old and young , and we are all in the same body. We are small and powerful by the living God. Every Sunday is spent IN THE WORD and the messages are powerful. Being so sensitive to false teaching , prosperity gospel, and sugar coated garbage (false gospels) I was on high alert our first week. Needless to say, this is my church, the Holy Spirit is there and Jesus is Lord. Thank you God for re:church. In February, the congregation installed a pastor, Rev Kathryn. Kathryn is a warm and friendly leader whose sermons are spiritual but also human and relevant. I feel fortunate to have found FCC Martinez. I highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking community, paths to supporting social justice, spiritual guidance, and/or friends. This is a church where they favor old hymns and most dress for Sunday morning service. Personally, I am not a suits and piano hymns type of guy. But I did find what I was looking for. I wanted a church that boldly preached the gospel without compromise. One that wasn't afraid to take a stand on Biblical issues. One that was more concerned about pleasing our Lord than pleasing men. In these things Cornerstone, in my opinion, is very strong. Pastor Snow is an excellent Bible teacher and a good example to follow for Christian living. Finally a church where music does not have worldly sound; that is so hard to find here in CA…read more Preaching is solid; the preacher is not screaming like some Baptist preachers do, but expositionally and correctly teach through books of the Bible that many neglect because of their hardness (for example right now we are going through the book of Hosea in the evening service). In the morning we are studying Philippians. People are very very nice, loving kind and modestly dress so as not to give offense to others. The service starts at 10:00 am and after that we have Sunday School (learning about evangelism). The evening service is at 6:00 and after that we spend time in prayer. On Wed. night we meet in each other houses for Bible study. I like this church because of the Word of God preached here and because it's not worldly and because the people are nice.

Wow what can I say! This church is a new church but the people were so warm and friendly. Even…read morewalking up there were some high school age kids out front who welcomed us and offered direction. I had two high school age kids with me. The High School director came up and introduced herself and didn't put any pressure on the kids and just told them what they have. After the worship singing we turned to find the entire high school group stand next to them and asking them to join them. They did. Afterwards, the kids both said how much they loved how friend the kids were and want to come back. They said they were nicer then the kids at their church in the sense of more welcoming and making them a part of the group. It was the same during the sermon as well. Everyone is very nice. Keep in mind this is a young church but I can see it growing by leaps and bounds because they do practice what they preach! Highly recommend it! I'm going back!
