If you're looking to adopt a loving fur baby look no further than The Father's House International…read more What an amazing organization and such beautiful and well cared for animals. My husband and I adopted our dog Lily from them and it was such a wonderful experience. It is clear that everyone there has the dog's best interest at heart and works with you to find a good fit for both you and the dog. We met at lease five dogs before deciding on Lily and submitting our application for adoption. Before going there you need to make an appointment and they will be happy to set up a time to come out. I have adopted from several organizations over the years and The Father's House International is by far the best adoption experience we've ever had. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend to all!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had called Father's House to call about a dog that…read morethey had up for adoption. I talked with a woman named Sunshine and we talked about who I was, why I moved to South Carolina and my interest in the adoption process. I told Sunshine that I was engaged and she said that was fine. I visited the dog I wanted to adopt and decided to submit an application. After submitting my application I was expected to hear something back in the next couple days, but nothing. When I tried calling no one would answer, they would hang up on me or simply ignore my messages and emails. I finally get a hold of Sunshine a week after submitting my application and she tells me that I have been denied because I AM NOT MARRIED. She said my lifestyle was not suited for their agency and that this adoption would not work out. Yes, Sunshine I am engaged and not married, but I that does not mean I am not a good candidate for this dog. I chose a Christian organization, because as a Christian I was hoping for a really positive experience, but instead I was met with judgement. I would encourage you to review this verse, Matthew 7:5 - You hypocrite! First, remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye. There are plenty of loveless, un-Christian marriages out there, but apparently if you aren't married or if you are living with your significant other you are automatically cast out by this group. If you are without sin and commit no wrong doing in your life, then I will gladly admit that I am wrong. I would have loved to give this older dog a loving home, where he would be number one priority. Unfortunately, you decided to let your judgement and opinions make assumptions about who I am. This could have all been easily avoided if they had been up front with me when I said that I was not married during my first phone call with Sunshine. Please know that if you are looking to adopt with this agency that you must fit into the mold of these people and if you are not you will be met with false hope, judgement and unreturned phone calls.
