Foran & Blake (re-named from Hair 4 U 12 months ago) has been open 5 years today! Yey!!!! I have been a customer of Foran & Blake for just over four years. I found the company after searching the web years ago. As you can see from my previous review of Hair 4 U, I am hopeless with hair! Will used to cut my hair when I was 18 to 20 and almost ten years later, I still hadn't found anyone who was as good! Will moved salon to the Market Walk last year as his business expanded. The old salon had a great feel to it but the new salon is even better! The buzzing atmosphere and friendly staff are superb. There is a relaxing area which had mood lighting where you have your hair washed. The salon feels very luxurious from start to finish! Leaving Foran & Blake salon, I always feel pampered and relaxed. Something I rarely fe with a hyper 5 year old in the house! Will is an amazing stylist who I have tried and failed to match Even when I've visited the expensive named salons in London! His staff are trained to the highest standards in the salon and Will's expertise is a massive influence to the level of service that everyone receives. To sum up: Customer service 10/10 Products used 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 Chatty and friendly staff 10/10 Music 10/10 Haircut/colour OFF THE SCALE!!! Overall experience 10/10!!!!! The owner was originally very nice and after going to the hairdressers for 6 months, i was very happy. After this, i got to know the hairdressers more and with this my haircuts and colours became more 'slap dash' everytime i went. A bad hairstyle, bits of hairdye missing and generally coming away more unhappier with my hair then i was before. I asked for a specific hair colour and came away with a different one that i did not want. Every suggestion i made was: no it will not blend with your roots, it will fade, it wont lift, it wont match your eyebrow colour, it wont go with your skin tones etc. I know hairdressers are there to give you advice although these people were harsh and made my self-esteem hit rock bottom. In my eyes and from the expressions of the hair dressers faces, i could see they could not be bothered doing it and had other people waiting for them in the waiting area, all my hair appointments were very rushed. By the end of going there, i was so upset with my hair. The colour was not what i wanted (this was everytime i went), my hair just hung there it had no style and they charged me ridiculous prices which was certainly not worth the money. I would not recommend if you want to be overcharged and be so unhappy with you hair! :( If it was possible 0/5! that unhappy! P.s if you want to be talked and humiliated behind your back (including the manager) this is certainly the hairdressers for you! read more

I was in this salon on Saturday and found it to be the best salon ever.The whole team were very friendly and helpful and the wash area was like you would see in a salon in London .The two owners are so nice to me every time I visit they make sure , I am looked after in every way. The staff are really funny and create a great atmosphere and whilst I am having my colour ,I love to watch them all work and create lovely hair cuts as they all know there jobs and get on with it ,you can tell they have been trained to a high level as all the clients are talking away to the stylists. This is so important to me as I have a very busy life and need to feel I get the best experience,when I visit a salon. Will the manager does a great job as my stylists always tells me about the day outs and nights he does for them and how they love working for him . I wish my boss appreciated me. All my family go to the salon now and a lot of my friends still working on a few.The young girl Lee is so lovely and knows my name making me the best coffee ever. I have been a regular customer of Foran and Blake for about 4 years, after being recommended by a friend. I took the opportunity to try it out and I would not go anywhere else! From the moment you step into the salon you are instantly made to feel very welcome as the staff are always smiling and really friendly. The atmosphere within the salon is lovely and there is a constant happy and positive vibe between the staff and clients which makes the experience an enjoyable one. The customer service is of a very high standard and you are always well looked after by the staff with drinks and magazines to make you feel comfortable and relaxed during your appointment. James is my stylist and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. He is very friendly, chatty and always cuts/colours my hair exactly how I want it. I always walk out of this hair salon feeling 100% better and extremely confident with my hair. I would recommend Foran and Blake to anyone! Definite 10/10 overall. read more

Another great visit to Will and staff. After a long period of illness my visits to Foran&Blake have been an essential treat as part of my recovery. Most of all I know that Will does his best to meet my desires for my hair I like to experiment with colour and that's alright because I trust the staff and guess what, I have never been disappointed! Even when what I ask is difficult to achieve Will and his staff are always professional and willing to give me the best hair colour and cut whilst ensuring that I don't do any damage to my hair it's never been in better condition. I have been a customer of the pricey national brands in London and Edinburgh and I know that Foran & Blake offer really good value for money and a warm interested service from all the staff that is second to none don't just trust anyone with your hair it's not just a haircut you want it's to be made to feel special and I do every time I go. read more

Being an young normal guy having my hair cut used to be such a massive chore. I always found it a thoroughly depressing experiance, that was untill one day approximately 6 years ago when i walked into Foran and blake, as its called now. The friendly staff immediately put me at ease, are so friendly and make you feel really welcome. (also they are all very attractive which is a bonus!) I have several stylists in this 6 years and have never had anything but a really good experiance. My hair has always been cut how i wanted it and to a fantastic standard. Will, who is also the manager, now cuts my hair and aswell as being an obviously skilled and talented hairdresser is also one of the nicest guys i've ever met. The chore has now turned into a fun enjoyable experiance and i can only recommend and speak in glowing terms of this salon. It is for me the best in Chorley. I have been going to Foran and Blake and previously Hair 4 u for probably 5 years, after following my stylist there, and have never been happier with my hair. The whole experience is brilliant, the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I recently went in on a very busy Sat, and was amazed at how every member of staff help one another, real team work, and i can only congratulate Will the manager for his skills in not only hairdressing but management, everyone seems so happy to be there, customers included! All this makes being there more enjoyable, and valued as a customer. At no point during my appointment did i feel rushed, even though they were very busy, and came out with the perfect hairdo for a wedding that afternoon. In the 5 years i have been going i have never come away unhappy with anything, I would recommend this salon to anyone, you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been going to Foran & Blake for many years now (even when it was Hair 4 U) and I cannot speak highly enough with regards to any aspect of the salon. From the minute you walk in the staff are very welcoming and always give 100%. Will, Shaun and ALL of the staff are very attentive and this is THE BEST salon I have ever been in. The salon atmosphere is lovely, relaxing and you are always looked after during your appointment with refreshments, magazines and nothing is too much for them. My hair is always done beautifully (and I am fussy about my hair!) and which ever stylist does it, I'm always happy with it and feel a million dollars. Foran & Blake Chorley is second to none, always delivering service with a smile and continuous hair dressing excellence! After finding Foran & Blake a couple of years ago, I once (and only once!) made the stupid mistake of going to a 'lower-end' hair dressers for the sake of saving a couple of quid. Worst mistake ever! I have been back to Foran & Blake ever since and would recommend it for its quality work and lively atmosphere to anyone! My stylist Rachelle always looks after me and no matter how long I leave it between cuts/colours (which is always far too long!) she always remembers exactly how I like it. I think her work is amazing (especially for someone like me who is so fussy over my hair!) and I have never been disappointed with anything she has done for me. I have been having my hair done at Foran and Blake for nearly 6 years. The moment you walk through the door you are treated like royality. All the staff are polite, friendly and make you feel part of the team. I have never ever had a bad experience here. From the moment they take your coat, sit you down and ask what you would like doing to your hair today the advice which is given from the staff is so helpful and when you've had your hair done the aftecare advice is always so good. Foran & Blake do alot for different charities and it's so nice to go to the salon when they are doing this and be part of it. You are offered drinks all the time and when your visit comes to an end you walk out of that door feeling like royality and with a smile on your face because you know you feel good and look good. read more

I came to the salon after my mum had been coming for years and now my whole family comes here. Everyone here is always very friendly and since my first visit here they have always been so welcoming. Last August my sister got married and they did the bride and all the bridesmaids hair in the morning for us. All of us were very impressed with the hair do's for that day, and the service considering they opened the salon early to fit us in. I am now at University in Cardiff but refuse to go to any hairdressers down there because i dont think i would trust anyone else with my hair since Will has been cutting it. I am a young male professional who lives in Chorley and works in Manchester, and having visited various hair salons in both areas, have to say that Foran & Blake is by far the best. The customer service is second to none, with the staff going that extra mile to give you the best experience. The stylists always listen to what i have to say about my hair style and this is why i continue to return to them. The salon itself is always clean and well maintained with a modern finish, making it a pleasure to visit. Soooooooo Disapointed. Went to Foran and Blake thinking i would get a really good haircut and can't believe how disappointed i was. Had it coloured and cut (by a senior stylist) on 24th August and even last week I felt as though it needed cutting again already!! I explained that i felt it needed a really good cut as i had let it get a bit out of shape but when it came to cutting she spent hardly any time at all cutting it, i did ask for a little more off-thankfully but it still wasn't right. Sorry won't be coming back! P.S it cost me £78.50!!!!!!!!! i was expecting £65 ish (my hair is only short) but nearly £80! it's Chorley town centre Not Manchester! read more

I have been visiting Foran & Blake for 6 years now, I first started using them when my hair dresser moved and went to work with them, I have not looked back since. I also find their service outstanding! The staff are always welcoming and friendly, I am always greeted with a smile which is a really nice feeling. They are always offering good sound advice and a level of service second to none, thats why I return, time and time again. The prices are more than resonable in my opinion, these are the words of a more than happy client. After months of being bombarded with leaflets whenever going to town I decided to try this place out and see what it was all about. Apparently there's a good reason they need to hand these leaflets out constantly, because it was absolutely terrible. That word could quite easily be utilised for every single aspect of this salon, from the customer service, to the cut, the prices, and everything else. All terrible. For the sake of your hair, your purse, and your faith in the human race as a whole, please avoid this place. Go to Gallery instead, it's incomprehensably better. As most places would be I suppose. I have been a customer for the last 3 years and this is the best salon I have ever been to. All the staff make you feel welcome and has great friendly atmosphere. I always leave the salon with an excellent hair cut and colour as i am very particular about my hair. They always listen to what i want and I have recommend my friends and family to Foran & Blake to, they too have had the same great experience that i have everytime. I used to go to Toni & Guy in Manchester but have now been having my hair cut by Will for the last 4 years and I can honestly say that he is the best hairdresser that I have ever had. He always cuts and styles my hair exactly as I expect and always goes the extra mile to ask if I want a different finish and I always leave the salon feeling special. My mum and husband also use the salon and have always had an excellent experience with James. All the salon staff are excellent, very friendly and welcoming which adds to overall experience. Had a fantastic haircut this week at this lovely salon came out feeling a million times better than when I walked in! The colour was just gorgeous, exactly what I wanted. I never have to worry about how my hair is going to look; I can rely on Will to get it right! Everyone at this salon is so friendly, it has a great atmosphere always welcoming. The staff are all so nice, it's a real pleasure to be there they really seem to enjoy working there. They all raise money together for local charities, too. I just went to Foran and Blake today. I walk in and I was greeted with a smiling face . I always feel welcomed and everyone asked how I was and how my family is. Will and his team do such a wonderful job making their customers friends enjoy visiting the salon for a coffee and a chat . Or a great full head color and hair cut.
