I have family in Courtenay so I visit on a frequent basis and stay for long periods of time. I have been using Westview Ford's services for over 10 years. When I got a simple oil change or tire rotation, they were OK. Whenever I have had a specific problem that required diagnosing what was wrong, they have been a disappointment. For example, I went back twice to fix an electrical problem and each time they told me it hadn't been sorted out when it hadn't been fixed at all. I then took my truck to an independent garage and they found the problem within an hour. Over the years I got the impression that the kind of service I got depended on the specific mechanic who was looking at my vehicle. My advice is that if you have a problem that is covered by a warranty, or you need something quite simple, they're ok. For a serious problem or something that requires some investigation, there are 2 or 3 good independent garages in the Comox Valley where you'd be better off taking your vehicle. I had to get my 04 F350 towed in to Westview Ford, as it's unsafe to drive. It shuts off randomly while driving, in traffic, intersections, etc. After a $2200 bill my truck issues were supposed to be fixed. (I paid extra to assure they were not guessing and that they had 100% confirmation that they found the issue.) They were wrong. It died again, less then a week later after bringing it home. Another tow truck bill back to the shop, plus a cab to bring my family back home after getting stranded. They told me yet again that they found the issue with 100% certainty, another $90 bill. It's not fixed, It died again. So now they want me to pay for a 3rd tow truck, another bill, For what? Another attempt at guessing what the issue could be? They now claim that the issue isn't related to the original (Even though it's doing the exact same thing as before. Shuts off while driving.) I paid for an inspection from the "professionals" to look at the truck, and to find out exactly why my truck is acting so unsafe. They failed to do so. They are just guessing at the problem, hoping to get lucky, instead of actually finding out the problem. This is the truck I daily drive for work, and use for my family... with my kids, my newborn baby.. This is a very serious unsafe problem that they have claimed that they have fixed twice now... I no longer trust, that Westview Ford has the ability to fix my truck, nor the understanding of the vehicles they are working on. As well as I believe that they do not care that they are playing around with the safety of my family. Also the lady I was passed to instead of the manger, who is away, made a rude comment about my truck being older and so this issue is expected. Older trucks are more common to have issues yes, but not the same issue that I paid to have fixed that makes no sense. The issue is that I paid $2200 with the understanding that my trucks unsafe problem would be resolved. But thanks for that rude comment. Apparently everyone who has an older truck has an unsafe vehicle? I don't think so.. Now I'm a very understanding person. That's why I went back a second time to get my original issue resolved. Why I paid for the second tow etc... 3 times on the same issues? I honestly feel like I got scammed. Without this truck I'm stuck, I rely on this truck. At this time I'd stay far away from Westview Ford, they clearly have no idea what they are doing. Nor do they care when they are playing around with someone else's money and family. *Random side note, the ladies at the front service desk are amazing and I appreciate the hard work they put in for me for my issues. I feel that the Westview Ford response to my original review is another example of why I was so disappointed with the customer service and illustrates why I felt the need to share my bad experience at the Westview Ford dealership in Courtenay, BC with other potential customers. Based on my experience, I would avoid this dealership and I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. I think it's clear that the original repair was not resolved as expected as the truck did not sound right on the same day we picked it up, and it broke down again the very next day with the exact same symptoms of the original issue. It is not as if the truck broke down again a couple months later in some unrelated system on the truck. I feel that an unwillingness to recognize this fact is really unfortunate and is not an example of first class customer service. I was an honest customer that paid a lot of money to the Westview Ford dealership to repair any leaks in the high pressure oil system and all that I was expecting is that it would be resolved properly. At no point did I ever approve any shortcuts to the repair that could negatively impact the quality of the repair for some cost benefit. That approach doesn't make any sense as a high pressure oil leak on that motor is a known high cost repair any way you look at it, and we were 25 hours away from home pulling a travel trailer. I feel that it was very clearly communicated to the service advisor and mechanic that everything needed should be performed to repair the high pressure oil system issue completely. I think that is what was clearly expected and agreed upon. I would strongly suggest that the Westview Ford dealership perform a comprehensive review of their pre-repair diagnostics and post-repair testing procedures to determine if there is anything that could be improved to prevent these types of unfortunate customer experiences. Perhaps additional evaluation during these steps would have resulted in the original high pressure oil system issue to be resolved in a satisfactory way. This dealer is pretty awful for service. They misdiagnosed a suspension problem and I paid hundreds of dollars for parts that weren't required and didn't fix anything. When I brought it up they insisted it was my fault and the parts I installed had the same faults as the old parts I replaced. Their diagnosis defied reasonable logic and basic principles of troubleshooting. The "expert" that looked at the car while I was back there with him was confused and had no idea what was going on. I never got my money back and got the issue fixed by Andy's shop for 50$. Parts and service are overpriced and they never let me talk to anyone higher than the shift manager and blamed me for the problems. read more

My experience with the team at Westview Ford is that they are genuinely trying to provide customers with great experiences in their store. I always feel that they listen to me and respect my time. I have had good experiences getting my car serviced at this store. read more

This dealership doesn't honor their warranty. I bought a brand new Mustang from here and the engine went in it within a couple years. It was under 60,000 km and had always been taken in for tuneups and oil changes. They immediately turned me away and wouldn't replace the engine or offer me anything of any sort. The employees working at this ford dealership were civil, respectable, and kind. It is the owner of this ford dealership that was rude and just a plain jerk. read more
