One got to her; the 2nd did not. This was a heartfelt father-daughter communication, so I complained. The registrat (AL) said she'd bring the matter to the director's (SM) attention that evening at dinner. I heard nothing. 3) I decided to stop sending my daughter and received an email from Huckins asking why. This time, I informed the director (SM) directly. She did not reply. Since their medical staff is poorly informed and their director doesn't care enough to even reply to parents, it seems fair to question whether one should entrust their child to those people. Finally, I should note that the registrar (AL) is an excellent communicator who responds quickly and fairly. She geniuinely seems to care.

Even in the year leading up to the summer Louis was been beyond responsive and attentive. No question is ever a bother. At one point I was hesitant to send the boys to camp at all and he even did a home visit to reassure me and the boys about the upcoming summer. We just returned from visiting weekend. Although I have only received positive communication from my children thus far I didn't know what to expect. My children are both happy, comfortable, learning and thriving. They are very well cared for and loved by EVERYONE. As a first time mom (especially) this is so reassuring. The entire administration and staff are friendly, welcoming and loving to each individual child. I already signed up for next year and can't wait to see and hear about the rest of the summer when my kids return! My 6 year old also had the best time on visiting day and was made to feel comfortable. If he could have stayed and spent the rest of the summer I'm sure he would have! We love Camp Wildwood!

For ninety years, boys (and for the past thirty years girls, too,) have flocked each summer to Camp…read moreRobin Hood on the shores of Broad Bay, to make new friends in the cabins, to challenge themselves on the fields, to step out of their comfort zone on the stage, and to form bonds that last a lifetime, and in some cases generations. I'm proud to say my family has been part of the Camp Robin Hood family for more than 40 of those years! My brother attended camp when it was all boys - and then in 1987 when girls were added, I was one of the first girl campers (at the time, there were less than 20 of us). I spent 15 summers as a camper, counselor, Group Leader and Waterfront Director. Now the girls and boys camps are equal in size (around 400 total campers) and my oldest daughter will be starting her 4th summer while my twins will be going for the first time. Many traditions are still the same (color war, count-offs, 16 laps, hiking Mount Washington, etc.) while facilities have been updated (new dining hall, several new cabins - others have been renovated, new lodge, updated office, and more) and more activities have been added (Ga-Ga, 9 square and more). I am grateful that my children will get to spend 7 weeks together, away from the hustle and bustle of their school lives with NO SCREENS, enjoying all the White Mountains have to offer. For me, one of the most exciting parts has been watching the never-ending cycle of camp friendships continue, campers often continue through the ranks as counselors in order to "give back" similar memories and experiences to the future generations of the camp. Additionally, the mid-western feel to the camp is a nice change from the fast-past New England world where we live. As a camper, I looked up to the counselors and even the Directors. The Directors today are former campers from the 1970's themselves, and former "camp parents" as well. They have brought Robin Hood traditions forward while continuing to enhance what they offer in the 21st century. And they understand the responsibility they are entrusted with each summer, caring for our children. As a parent, I have found the communication from the Administration both helpful (in preparing for camp and for my children's return after camp) and comforting, when I just want to know my kids are having fun and adjusting to life away from their parents. We have a few sayings at Robin Hood, like "live 10 for 2"(live 10 months of the school year for the 2 months of summer) and there's "magic in the trees". There's nothing quite like the sunset over Lake Ossipee or like camp friends that remain friends for life. There's nothing quite like Camp Robin Hood. I know my family is looking forward to being a part of Robin Hood for at least 90 more years...

Our younger boys get more time with us, our oldest gets to mature and learn responsibilities. The college campus setting is a plus, as opposed to cabins. He would get to experience living in that setting. We wanted him to have experience outside of Florida in another part of the county. Having access to the lake, fishing and boating more pluses. Lastly, as a hockey player being able to play hockey over the summer and against boys from all over would be incredible. We were hesitant, is he ready, will he be ok??? We dropped him off and never looked back. The campus, the counselors we met were incredible, coupled with Koop's leadership and experience - WOW. Fast forward to seeing our boy after 21 days at camp. Would you go back? "Yes, I had the best time ever". Here we are again, 10 year old ready to go have the best 3 weeks of the year! If you have any worries, there is no need.

At Wazi, she tried all kinds of activities that she had never even heard of, such as archery, and came home with new interests. She also matured tremendously over that summer as these young kids are given the opportuntiy to choose which activities they would like to do, take care of themselves and make all kinds of decisions on their own. My daughter felt safe and happy all summer. During the 2021 summer, they did an amazing job of letting the kids enjoy a mostly normal camp experience even though COVID was still around. Highly recommend Camp Wazi for any child as there are so many activities to choose from and it is a nice small camp with a great staff!
