The Forest Edge Café and Tea House initially appeared to be promising. My wife and myself were visiting New Milton for a day out and called in to have lunch. We were unsure whether it was counter or table service and walked to the counter where a young lady gave us an unwelcome stare and without saying a word totally ignored us, turned on her heel and went off to talk to someone at a table. I am delighted that business at this place is doing so well that they can afford to treat customers indifferently but as far as we were concerned we voted with our feet and thankfully left and had lunch at the Rydal Arms where customer service seemed to be highly regarded. I have awarded a rating of 2 stars for the Forest edge because décor looked inviting and clean but that's where our experience ended. read more
