Most of my family is buried here and I find this place pretty nice with the way they are setup with the different garden names. I'm always amazed at how many new rows of graves get added during each visit. It helps me remember where my final resting place will be before meeting my Lord. I feel the staff here are very kind and helpful. Recently I was stuck when I locked my keys in the car. I called the front office and they sent the gravedigger to my rescue, and he helped me unlock the car. During my wait time I thought of how the folks who have passed are in their graves with no escape, but if I could get back inside my vehicle I could drive off and either do more good or bad in life. These moments seem to help me remember my mission in life...to be good, help others, and worship my Creator as he instructed me to. There are a mixture of different gardens for different faiths which is always enlightening. Garden #9 is where most of my loved ones rest. I go here to find peace and pray for them and it helps me to remember death. Many people may disagree with my previous statement, but being reminded is good. Remember that if you feel the need to contemplate the graveyard is a great place. It should not be thought of as a depressing place, but as a place where we will eventually go before meeting our Maker. Take a seat on a bench in the garden and reflect on your life. I called and spoke with Andy in November about my brother's headstone. It had come way up in one corner and was sunken on the other side. It was pretty upsetting to see. It had only been 4 years and my heart sank when I saw it. Well, I wanted to give them plenty of time to get it done, so I waited a few weeks, then my husband went out there and facetimed me while I was at work. Not only did they level his headstone and build it up a little, they also did my mom and dad's the same and built theirs up and cleaned them all! I was just filled with happiness that the grounds people went above what I had asked of them. Wow!! These days, there seem to be more people that don't take the time to go out of their way to do something like that, but they did!! I called and spoke with Catherine who thanked me so much for calling and loved hearing what a wonderful job the groundskeepers did. EVERY single person that I have spoken to and dealt with over the many years have been God sent!! They are truly angels on earth at Southpark and I love each and every one of you. Just know that what you do on a daily basis truly changes the lives of the people who use your services for their loved ones. You really do make a difference and should be recognized. I went to two other funeral homes in the area, and while both were perfectly pleasant and nice, it was Zac Clayton and his staff (everyone from the guy giving directions to the pallbearers, making sure everyone had buttonnieres, etc., to the young lady giving instructions to the cemetery workers (South Park Cemetery)) who a) never made us feel like we were pressured into 'buying up' to a 'better' model of casket or container; b) were totally - TOTALLY - transparent about prices and fees; c) took care to ensure that EVERY necessary detail was addressed (flowers, prayer cards, finding a priest who could perform a service at the funeral home when there was a schedule conflict with the church, etc.) either by Clayton or by the family; d) had pricing that was more than fair on the services and items needed for the burial; and e) were just all-around super nice, comforting, helpful, and made you feel like they were helping out family and friends that they had known for years. Honestly, do yourself a favor, shop around if you want to, but GO to these guys and give them a listen. You will be SO GLAD afterwards that you did. BTW - everything about the service was lovely - the flowers (done in house by Clayton), the service by our borrowed priest (thank you Father Jim!), the slideshow of photos and music (photos / music supplied by family, edited into presentation by Clayton and displayed flawlessly by the Clayton folks on their big screen using their a/v equipment.
