Where the store is located in the brand spanking new section at Macquarie Centre in North Ryde. It is split onto 2 levels. Level 1 is for females and Level 2 is for Mens and kids and homewards i believe. It has only opened recently so be ready to battle the crowds! Arrived there on a Monday at around 12.30pm and it was packed! Where did all these people come from?! Don't they have work or something lol Prices are just as you would expect overseas so you will always be able to pick up some bargains. They also have security guards on both levels - probably to keep the peace in case a fight breaks out among the shoppers....it does happen at boxing day sales....just saying. Anywho great place for a bargain, or if you need a new wardrobe change or perhaps a gift.

It does lack a range for the fuller person however you never know when you might pick up a bargain. The shop was fairly crowded with the counters cluttered with clothing and items. The change room was a nightmare...don't even bother. There was a line waiting to get in. I just said to the salesman..."look ,..I'm trying these shorts over my skimpy shorts to see if they fit"....he understood and shook his head at the line up. The prices are quite good compared to surrounding shops. I have shopped in H&M in the USA and in Spain and the clothing is similar. I do love the accessories to go with the outfit and often put right beside that special shirt or pair of jeans. So if you are coming to this store..come early or be patient.

Sure the prices are high but these are designer brands after all and to be expected. Although I have to admit Incu marks it up quite high. This place fits right into my approach to shopping. I don't shop often at all so I have a small wardrobe, but when I do I tend to buy investment pieces that would last me years. I have bought a few items here (mostly when its on sale) and even the most simple items look different when worn. My favourite designer is Alexander Wang and his casual wear line is amazing. He puts a bit of cool to my usual uniform of jeans and t-shirt! The assistants there are usually design students and are nice enough when approached. I guess the clothes speak for themselves and their demeanor reflective of most designer stores. Truth is, at current market conditions, I would rather shop online because you can get all of these designers on websites such as net-a-porter at much lower prices. But if I can't wait or if its sold out overseas, this is when I head to Incu. Lovely store with beautiful clothing.

Incu is great, expensive but great, I don't often buy anything as I don't want to spend $45 for a singlet or $120 on shorts, but if I had an unlimited budget and less clothes I would shop there. They sell casual designer clothes from leading design houses and their clothes cover a range of styles, but are all excellent quality and extremely stylish. Although I try to keep my credit card in my pocket, I still like to have a browse.

A friend of mine enthusiastically recommended it to me and said I must, must check it out. So check it out I did. I found some very interesting, "out of the norm" garments in here. I was told afterwards that most of the shop's styling is European, which makes a lot of sense. Lots of quirky pieces fill the racks, most with interesting embellishments or asymmetrical necklines. I was drawn to a patchwork and lace cardigan, but had to catch my breath after realizing it was near the $300 mark. Not that it isn't worth it, I just didn't quite see it coming. If you're after shoes, jewelry or accessories, Standard Store has a few options here, but not a ton. They are definitely taking a minimalist approach to stocking the shop, but there's probably a sales tactic here that I'm just not aware of. That or the rest of their European shipment is being held up in Australian customs.

The Standard Store just opened in September of this year in a little heritage building in Surry Hills. It's the flagship of the Flying Standard Distribution agency, which sells various European brands. When I walked in, there was just one employee who was helping the only other customer in the store. She didn't even glance my way to welcome me or ask me if I needed assistance, which is surely not polite service. The store itself is cute, minimally decorated, and reminded me of a miniature version of Urban Outfitters (though much more organized). Their inventory of clothes is quite small, but they do carry basics like shirt, jeans, and shoes. I saw less than ten different brands in the men's section, though there appeared to be a bigger selection for women's apparel on the opposite side of the room. Sifting through the clothing racks, I saw $150 striped shirts and $300 cardigans. I like how they carry uncommon labels, but that doesn't detract from the unjustifiably high prices. Despite liking several things I saw, I can't picture myself rushing back here for any reason.

I reached out to Bassike after my $600+ purchase, having them for only two weeks, worn about 5 times and the leather has torn on the heel area, both shoes and looks shabby. Basically Bassike Customer Service made it very clear they would not be replacing them, after reaching out twice. I have never experienced such poor Customer Service, so disappointing! Oh but apparently I can make an arrangement to take the shoes into the store for further assessment but was made clear that the decision is not likely to change. Well thank you for your premium service Bassike. Perhaps stay away from footwear sales.

I found an awesome beaded necklace here that people comment on... I don't tell them it was from Vinnies! Okay, actually I do after a while because I think it's pretty cool. When I'm in there I often think, okay, when I need a particular item of clothing for a particular one use occasion I am going to come here and find it for next to nix. Somehow I always forget though. I love to thrift shop since I'm only a casual on a budget and there's some really good finds in the Vinnies that I've visited before. While that still stands true, the customer service was a mess. To put it bluntly, my friend and I were racially profiled. I was in line with my purchases when a girl at the counter looked at me up and down and rudely told me to go to the girl next to her instead. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I said nothing and moved along even though I was already insulted. And the thing is, it didn't end there. My friend is a little darker than me, and she was purchasing something to. We were both in the line at the other girl's aisle, and my friend was only looking at something on the display when the first girl had the audacity to accuse her of stealing something. When we were in line. With our money at hand. Really? The lady serving us apologised for her coworker and my friend overheard a conversation between her and the manager about how it was that girl's second day. Still, that was utterly unacceptable. Good products. But maybe Vinnies should screen their volunteers better.

A cool(ish) gentlemen outfitters they focuses on Northern European brands and I'd say there target is: smart, fashion conscious men from mid-twenties on. This isn't a cutting edge fashion store rather a well selected version of David Jones. The windows always make me homesick as they often reflect outfits that my dad would wear and then I shudder and realise that my husband would wear them too. This is not bargain hunter territory. The owner once refused to discount a Ted Baker suit because he "has larger overheads than DJs, so they can do sales" - we drove to DJs and saved $150. If your wallet doesn't quibble then this could be a great little shop for a new shirt for that boys night on the town or dress down Fridays.
