This store is sooooo great. Tons of excellent choices in every department. Shopping here always inspires a creative meal, a real treat!

We have been shopping at Fork Lift since its opening. We were so excited to see it since we drive down from Apple Hill and now we don't have to go all the way to EDH to Nugget Market. This place has it all! Bulk foods (including herbs and spices); a great produce dept with lots of organic choices; the best cheese counter; a great bakery with fresh baked bread, bagels and pretzels as well as lots of deserts (including Ettores!); a lovely deli section with a wall of packaged Fork Lift made salads and entrees (and even pizza dough) for convenience and a salad bar that includes pasta and grain salads; a fully staffed meat/seafood counter with organic and grass fed choices; a huge dairy case with lots of non-dairy choices; a wonderful selection of cold drinks (including beer - some of them local); general dry goods featuring both every day brands and specialty items (like those you find at Nugget Market); frozen foods (common, organic, vegetarian, vegan); vitamins and herbals; beauty products; a nice wine selection and liquor. Whew!! I hope I haven't forgotten anything (though with all they have to offer I probably have.) Now to the intangibles: First and foremost Forklift employs the most helpful, kind and happy people I've ever had the pleasure to do business with. I've never had one pass me by but that they have asked me if they can help; when I do need help they are very gracious and personable. The individuals who staff the cheese counter are especially nice - they have all been exceptionally knowledgeable as well. We often bag our own groceries just to help out but baggers are always available. (Remember your reusable shopping bags; Fork Lift encouraged their use long before the law.) Second, the store is always impeccably clean as well as organized with a logical floor plan. It's easy to locate what you need, signs in the aisles help too. Prices are good - certainly comparable to Railys and less than Nugget Market. There are a lot of whole food, organic, non-GMO, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan offerings and these options are clearly marked in most cases. Shopping here supports local business. Check out is nice and fast, if the lines start to back up additional registers are promptly opened. I hope you give Fork Lift a try - I think you will be very happy you did!! read more

If I could give more then 5 stars I would! I have NEVER been to a grocery store where the staff was so friendly and helpful. I told my husband how great the people who work there are and when he went he agreed. The sandwiches, soup and etc is so good. By far my favorite store!!! Sarah in the Deli area is awesome!!! Great produce and deli department. Only place I can find frozen croissants to bake at home. Folks that work there are super friendly and they have a Golden One ATM. Their soda selection is up there with BevMo and they have an exceptional bulk food area. read more

This review is long overdue...let's take a stroll back in time to my daughter's high school graduation in May 2015. Enter the store, one frazzled mom, picking up the amazing Princess Cake from Etorre that I ordered for her party. To my horror, I realized I had left my purse at home! I had no time to run back home and get my wallet. Randy, the store manager, offered to use his own credit card to buy the cake for me (my recollection is the cake was maybe $75-90). Randy trusted that I would return to the store to pay him back. Who does this? I have told this story countless times and everyone has been so impressed. Forklift is an amazing store anyway... Excellent grocery store for all your shopping needs. I also want to give the deli and prepared food a big shout out. I had called earlier in the day to see if they had salmon cakes and was told yes. I told the employee Kevin that I would be in later to get four but I didn't reserve them. To my surprise I went in the store and all the cakes were gone so I walked away. As I was picking up the last few things I needed I went back to deli and I was going to order just salmon. To my surprise the employee over heard me saying I came for salmon cakes but since they were out I would get salmon. That is when I was surprised Kevin has set aside 3 when he saw that they were going to be sold out. Impressive to Me these days that an employee would do that without being asked!!! Lots of fresh and unique options Not just good quality food because that's not a problem this area but a good option if you're looking to eat healthier and tastier food. Sounds like Dala B. needs to chill out - Forklift has some great Lavendar or Jasmine essential oils to help. I absolutely love this store and neither my husband or I have EVER had an issue with the employees, products or level of noise here. My husband does most shopping and chooses this store over Safeway or Bel Aire and I concur. The wine, cheese, meat and bakery depts. are outstanding as are the people who work behind the counter. The employees go above and beyond what a "typical" grocery store does, and this is what keeps me and I'm sure most of your loyal customers, coming back! I always get the best service at Cameron Park Food 4 Less, and April 21, 2014 was no different! Thank you Courtney B, for being so patient and gracious when I paid my grocery bill of 31,88 with dimes, nickels and many many pennies, also in the past the staff always asks if I need help, including helping me reach 4 cases of Pelligrino in glass bottles , 16 in each case!!. yet again when I was unable to locate phyllo dough, and the cashier was able to call frozen food dept and they walked it right over! FOOD 4 LESS NEW NAME They have changed their name to Fork Lift grocery. My friends and family hate this name and cannot understand how any marketing sales person could of ever come up with such an unappropriate name for a grocery store. Anyone driving from Sacramento or elsewhere seeing this sign would never know it's a grocery store and drive on by. I see a fork below the name. This is not a restaurant it's a grocery store. This name indicates an equipment rental agency, or warehouse for fork lifts, or sales. If the manager of Fork Lift in Cameron Park reads this please note people are not happy about this name. I will continue to complain to every employee and manager until they change it. I gave it 3 stars due to the name change, but the store it self is very nice. read more

I was surprised when I recently drove by and noticed that this market had changed. Yes to all the reviewers who posted negatively- this is no longer a Crap-4-Less store. You no longer appear normal wandering the aisles in flip flops, pajama pants, and a tank top. You no longer get to bag your own groceries. But on the positive side this market has all the greatness of a nugget market combined with a lot of the strange items that you'd find at a Mexican market. You can get organic, you can get bulk, you can get strange boutique items, or you can find all the fixings for tamales including a large pot. I found the selection to be great, produce to still be of impressive nugget quality, and the bakery items that I tried to be tasty. Really this store is head and shoulders above the old store at this location- as well as beating out the local Safeway and BelAir as well. And to be honest, the first four people I saw when I walked in the store were wearing pajama pants despite the remodel- so if that's your thing, feel free to rock those pajamas in public. read more

Fork Lift by Nugget looks just like Nugget to me. The store has everything nicely organized and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Fork Lift is conveniently off the highway and is a good place to stop right before heading out to Placer County for a hike. Although produce is a bit more pricey, everything is fresh. In the back of the store, there is a deli section where you can order sandwiches. In addition, there are various sides you can get by the pound. read more

Had to come back and update my review. Suing their remodel the prices were so high. But now, about 6 months later, they're lowered their prices amd are now competitive with safeway amd Belair. I love their organic choices. I can now count on both safeway and FL to carry organic basics. I love it. The deli at FL does not carry Sapperasotta Salami, so I still go to safeway for that. But the kids working the meat counter are so nice. They suggested some wonderful homemade flank steak wraps and they were really good. And they bag your groceries now too which is important to me because I have a bad back. read more

Food 4 Less is good for low prices on most things. I don't have one at home so I stop here sometimes and buy items for car trips.
