Now to the cleanliness which I cannot fault them on either as every day my room was cleaned top to bottom. They provided me with fresh towels every day which no other hotel I've been to has done. I will definitely be using this place in the next year as I usually go to Birmingham for events at the NEC.

The painting from hell. With stoic faces that blend into the background but creeped me out once I noticed. Two sunken, worn out chairs that looked like someone's grandparents had died in them. It felt like this room was watching me. The double bed in the standard room can't fit two people comfortably, especially since I have a tendency to roll around. I immediately went downstairs and asked for a room with a bigger bed and more welcoming decor. For 25 pounds more a night, I was given a luxurious room that felt welcoming. Worth every pound. Location is very convenient from Birmingham New Street station just take the Stephenson St exit and you are literally right across from the hotel entrance. Go into the building entrance next to Suits U, take the stairs up and the hotel entrance is to the left.

You have everything on your doorstep- the mailbox, the bullring, new street, Victoria square... No need for public transport at all! The hotel itself is quite Victorian inspired, with a grand reception and an old fashioned style. The staff were lovely, and I was over the moon with the luxury suite. The bathroom was the highlight- a standalone bath and a huge walk in shower. Myself and a friend were booked in for dinner and breakfast too, meaning we didn't need to leave the hotel to dine out. The restaurant was very quiet for a Friday night... We had a 7.30 pm booking and there were three of us in the whole restaurant, killing the atmosphere a bit. However, the food was lovely. I went for smoked haddock with spinach mash, and me and my friend shared a prawn cocktail starter too. Couldn't fault the food or the service- just a shame the atmosphere was so dead! Breakfast was the oppiset- it was that busy we struggled for a table. The continental set up was great; cereal, bagels, toast, croissants, cakes, fruits, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, fruit juices- so much choice. The location is definitely the closest you'll get to the city centre but I'm not sure that this overrides the condition of the hotel. Although the rooms are cleaned thoroughly when needed, the bathrooms need a definite upgrade. The room I stayed in last had a leaky ceiling that continued to leak and spread across the ceiling until I let someone know of the above room leaking. I feel the bathroom is borderline gross. The towels are hard as are the pillows and bed. The homelessness right outside the front door is sad but I wonder why other accommodations aren't made for these poor folks who are sleeping, smoking and eating right outside the front door. I may have had to stay longer due to business reasons and was told that upon my next visit they would give me a discount if I just emailed them. I tried recently but my emails went unanswered. Probably a good thing, since I found a better accommodation not too much further and at a better price. It saddens me that they let this property go.

I've stayed in hotel La Tour and I'm telling you now I preferred the adagio! Everything inside the rooms are spotlessly clean, the hallways have some psychedelic carpet but that seems to be the only let down in the decor. There are plenty of lights so you can actually see what your doing, no sulky mood lighting which looks great but is not practical. The bathroom as again finished to a very high standard with a standard vanity mirror and built in LED lights but also a moveable magnified mirror. The shower was a decent side. It wasn't a power shower but again very clean. When I first walked in the bed was down and made, more so to prove its existence I think. I can imagine people walking in and immediately calling reception exclaiming that there's only a sofa are they expected to sleep on a sofa for £100 a night!! After a quick removal of the back visions I lifted the bed up and built my sofa. Expanding the room and laying my desire for a Murphy bed of my own. To be honest I could live in a place that compact quite happily. The staff when checking in and out were friendly and pleasant. I will definitely look to see if I can book here again the next time I need a hotel in Birmingham.

Me and my friends have stayed here when we go out in Birmingham as it is very near to gatecrasher club. The taxi from here is around 5 pound. They offer breakfast and lunch. They staff are really friendly and the rooms are roomy. However I do think they could do something about being able to hear who in the next room. They rooms have tv and you have internet access. You get free parking and it is really safe as they have lifts to different blocks and you can only use it if you have a room key. Really good system. Recommended but look on website before as it double the price if you just turn up.

Though there's no computer in reception and the pool table has been removed there is still tea and coffee facilitis, telephone, hair dryer and iron in each room. Security is good too. WiFi is free and there's a good range of tv channels on a wide screen tv. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are. Big with ensuite bath and or shower with towels and toiletries. There is a tv on restaurant and one on Reception. The bar is well stocked. Any bar that van serve me with whisky any ginger wine and malibu Malibu is well stocked. After reporting to the front desk, we were informed maintenance would fix the issue the following day, but in the end never came. The hotel is located on the rather far out of the city and so requires a bus ride or twenty-minute walk to reach the train stations or businesses. Complimentary breakfast - opening at 6 AM on weekdays and 6:30 AM on weekends - includes a standard selection of food and beverages. Reservations need to be made for breakfast at the front desk despite it just being a breakfast buffet.

Room was big enough, if not massive, for two people but the beds were excellent and the bathroom well appointed and spotlessly clean. Had breakfast only once in two days which was a mistake. Should have done it both days. Very good. While the rest of the neighbourhood heaves at night, the bar here was quiet, mostly because they only allowed residents into the hotel at night. We were grateful for the comfort. Very happy to recommend and will stay here again.

Just by the canal and an abundance of restaurant. All main attractions in the city less than ten mins walk away. It actually took ages to find a decent place at the right price based on previous reviews. Everyone commented on the noise from party goers everywhere - and in particular with Jurys Inn - the noise from the maids lift. But we plumped for Jurys Inn because they had the B&B deals and the company has a good rep. We simply requested a room away from the lift. As it was on the 11th floor we had two peaceful nights sleep in the most AMAZING bed ever. It was so huge I didn't even notice the Mrs was in the bed next to me when I woke up. The rooms are spacious and so so clean. There's no faffing in the room and no mini fridge (ie temptation) which is perfect for us. The whole hotel was clean and bright and pretty. Good security at night and efficient service throughout. Negatives -Awkward moment when checking in - the guy behind the counter was a tad baffled about two women sharing a double room, bless. -Annoying heating/air conditioning in room. It's just stupid, but if you admit defeat and call reception they can adjust it from there. -Breakfast. Poor lay out, naff choice for veggies. -Paid Wifi Despite the not so goods - for the price you can't get better for Bham City Centre. I would recommend it for couples on a city break of those who are looking for a decent place to rest and refuel.
