The best thing about it, though, is that it covers all the biggest rental/estate agencies in Edinburgh. There are too many to list on here, but you can see just by scrolling down to the bottom of their home page that they work in conjunction with the biggest 15-20 property agencies in Edinburgh. I've used this for three years to find rental properties, and my parents have used it to buy up here too, and I have to say if you're considering doing either of the above then this should definitely be your first port of call.

It is true that they were hard to get hold off, but what do we expect over the Christmas and New Year period. So far they were really helpful and if you come across this letting agent, then you are in good hands. They are not charging any letting fees and their offices are located near the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh town center. You are in good hands, but remember, its always best to also check out the owner of the premises before you move into any place, as these are the ones who have the final words when it comes to certain issues.

The tourists only ever get put in Chancellor's Court or John Burnett House, as the others are pretty skanky breezeblock cells housed in ugly 1960s wannabe tower blocks, and also because these two are the most expensive. When the rahs go home for summer and aren't cluttering up the quad with their stupid huge hairdos and jack wills tracksuit bottoms, this place is pretty good. There are a few grassy areas for lounging on during the rare suny days, there's an on-site pub and there's also a little corner shop which is fairly well-stocked. Just don't eat in the JMCC canteen. They like to dress it up and call it a restaurant, but it will always be a canteen. And not a very good one at that.

POLLOCK! I think…read morePollock Halls hold a special place in the hearts of all Edinburgh University students. It certainly does for me. The entire area is huge, fantastically huge and it is easy to get lost. There are several different houses - Chancellors, Baird, Lee, Turner, Grant, Holland (Blocks A, B, C, D and Annexe), Masson and Fraser court. I'm sure there's more I've forgotten about...! Here's the scoop - when I was here in 2007 there was a distinct seperation between each house. Chancellors Court was generally reserved for the yah's at Edinburgh Uni - I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, but the rooms are lovely, modern and clean. All en-suite, naturally. Chancellors Court and Holland are the only two houses with en-suite facilities. I stayed in Holland B block (following my brothers recommendation) and loved it. Yeah, the rooms weren't huge and the toilets were tiny, and the walls were really thin, and it got cold (wow, I'm really selling it) but it was fantastic. Because Holland was one of the older houses it had a real sense of tradition about it. I've made some brilliant memories in Holland Block! The JMC food-court left a lot to be desired, I'm afraid to say. Their breakfasts were good, always a great selection of fruit, cereals and cooked breakfast,but their dinners went steadily downhill as the term progressed. Don't get me wrong, it was all edible (but i once got a bad bug from the beef goulash) and if there was nothing you fancied there was always salad and cold meats, but it wasn't amazing. Overall, however, I thoroughly recommend Pollock Halls. I recently went for a drive and saw that the whole place has been updated with a whole new house being built, so I'm sure it has just got better!

Never invasive, never in your face. CS has always been very quiet but helpful. Everything that needed to be repaired was repaired within very reasonable time. The person I dealt with, Melanie Terris, Director, was unhelpful, impolite and obstructive with providing information. In addition, they informed their previous tenants (who I now rent a flat to) that they would be charged £25 for providing a reference to me as a prospective landlord, despite the fact that this is unlawful under section 82 of the Rents (Scotland) Act 1984 and section 32 of the Private Rented Housing (Scotland) Act 2011. Melanie's approach initially led me to believe that there was a problem with the tenants I was considering, but this was not the case, and I am not sure why she was not forthcoming with information; suspect it was because she was reluctant to provide this without payment. Based on my experience, I was not left with a great impression of the company or their approach in appearing to circumvent the law at tenants & landlords expense. I would choose not to use this agency to let a property and would not recommend them to potential tenants looking to rent property. I can see why landlords and agencies get a bad name when there are companies out there that are not operating responsibly.

However, in Clouds I found the antithesis to every other property company/letting agency out there. I was with them for 4 years and had the best experience ever. They are refreshingly professional, caring and honest. You are assigned your own personal property manager who you contact directly with any problems (of which I had VERY few, if any). I rented with them twice moving out of a one bedroom property of theirs straight in to one of their two bedroom flats. Both flats were absolutely stunning - gorgeous,elegant decor, excellently equipped and sparklingly clean. It is clear they only take properties on to their books which are of a very high standard. I actually got to know the actual owners of the two flats as well which made the whole experience that bit more personal. I am not one to write a review, in fact I think this is my first but having recently had a hugely awful experience with GRAINGER PLC and Letting Solutions (they seem to be on a joint mission to ruin lives, I swear) I thought it was time I wrote about my brilliant experience with Clouds Property. The employees themselves are extremely nice and the service is simply wonderful and they are extremely efficient. For example, one of the toilets blocked in our apartment so I phoned up my property guy and the plumber was sent out THAT DAY! This never ever ever ever happens with other property companies in my experience. If you are to ever rent with anyone, make it Clouds, you won't regret it, I promise.
