They make a delicious banana puddling!

What an amazing experience. From okra, to sweet potatoes, eggs, bread, you'll find it all out here. Perfect place to be if you want some fresh produce, and tasty bites. The ambiance was giving fresh air and colorful tents. Lots of folks out mingling, taking in the park and folk views, even the pups were out for a morning walk at the farmers market. The service is always awesome. Some vendors offer tastings... you're sure to take it home with you then. There's lots of vendors to choose from each week. I enjoyed my recent visit. I picked up banana pudding, okra, green tomatoes, tres leches cake, popcorn honey, pecans, just to name a few. What a yummy experience.

We were visiting Savannah on a Saturday and everyone told us that the Forsyth Farmer's market was a can't miss. There were loads of people, stands, and cute dogs! The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I honestly didn't really like the items I purchased. I guess I should blame myself for making bad choices. But the coffee was not good. I ended up throwing it away. And I had a cheesecake cookie and threw that away after a couple bites as well. Super disappointing. I'm sure there were lots of great vendors but I didn't find them this trip, sadly.

A must visit whether you're a local or visitor. This is the best way to spend a Saturday morning! There are so many fresh vegetables in such variety. I've never seen so many microgreens being sold in one spot! We enjoyed the fresh pecans, Good Graham cashew queso and nut bar, the bakery that won the James Beard award, and many artists. Start with the food side first on bull and park Ave and work your way down. Artists stay longer than the food market. It was really cool to see their token system. "The main market table on Saturday accepts debit, credit, and SNAP/EBT in exchange for non-refundable tokens that do not expire. We also double SNAP/EBT dollars." Good graham's cashew queso was the best I've ever had. I've had a lot of bad ones, lol. Truly the best creaminess consistency and flavor. I love that they add fresh pico de gallo to it. Ask for a sample! No dairy and grain free everything. I wanted to try their cookie, but it sold out already. The owners have been selling for 3 years now. Prior, she was making food for people with crohn's or other conditions with food restrictions. I included a few of my art purchases in the pictures. Not many artists were selling originals, but there were a few. I forgot to grab the name of the crochet and plant artist stand, but they were a great stop, too. Ruihan was the first name. I bought her crochet peach. My daughter loved all of them. Cute little crochet dumplings, mushrooms, squid, cats, and octopus.

8-10-24 Noon Note found out about this place on the Old Town Trolley tour. It is only open on Saturdays. Obviously weather permitting as you are outside in the park. We arrived late, the hours are from 7:30 until 1pm. The good news is we got free street parking relatively close by. Once at the beginning of the market the crowds weren't so bad easy to walk. Hubby correctly suggested that we walk up one side and back down the other. Strongly suggest you bring cash, easier to buy. We bought pralines in two flavors and they gave out samples. Brought my own bags for purchases. At the last stop we got vegetables zucchini boats hubby has a recipe for. Yellow squash and Green Tomatoes, guess what we will be doing with those. Love me some fried Green Tomatoes. There was a booth taking a census on the status of the shoppers. For us it was our first time and definitely not our last. Will get here earlier next time.

Lots of local fare from pecans and vegetables to meats and cheeses! If you walk around the park you will also find local artists selling their work! It's a fun start to your Saturday. Most vendors are there weekly if you find something you love...you can buy it again! Dog friendly!

Paint a picture of a farmers market and what comes to mind is farm to table where one pays a premium for locally source goods and produce. Because of that I usually expect quaint pretty layouts especially in Forsyth Park. There's a certain haphazard arrangement in the stalls here that doesn't show it at the best light. Maybe because of COVID. Part of one's experience is the presentation and I just didn't bother today cause I wasn't attracted to check out the stalls.

Growing up farmers markets have always been a fun way to spend time as a family usually resulting in getting some of the best fresh produce and a little snack to help you shop. And between the huge farmers markets in Europe with the freshest of fresh produce and even some of the farmers markets in the Pacific Northwest I've grown up quite spoiled when it comes to farmers markets. So once I finally realized they had a farmers market I'm Savannah at Forsyth Park I've tried to make it my mission to go check it out. This past Saturday we finally went, they had entertainment from the Army's band singing songs which was cute. And there were a good amount of vendors though for me this market was still pretty small. But what I think I also love about farmers markets and this is usually anywhere is that the vendors are really nice and truly know their products. Some of my favorite findings here were locally made jams, locally grown produce though I wish there would of been more fruit options and off course the baked goods( I'm a sucker for some good pastries), oh and before I forget my son's favorite stand was definitely the Savannah Pops. Heads up they're open until 1 but start breaking down shortly before that. Also, we made the mistake once of trying to check this place out right before they closed and the selection is tremendously less than if you were to come bright and early. But all in all it was nice to finally see and to be able to experience. This farmers market is in the perfect location, you can enjoy what the market has to offer and then take a stroll through Forsyth Park.

Found ourselves here late Saturday morning on the first Saturday in October.... Sounds like that should be a song. And even mix of local produce, local businesses and of course kettle corn. Most merchants except the cash as well as debit card so come out and support local businesses.

We stumbled upon this market when we were in Savannah. There was such a wide variety of goods for sale! Some of the items we saw: -Pizza and pasta sauce -Pasta (ravioli, lasagna, etc) -Vegetables -Fruits -Bee related products -Fresh dog feood -Meat (beef and pork) -Fresh baked breads and pastries -Coffee -Nuts It's nice to see the park lively! Items were a little on the pricey side, but this is the perfect spot for foodies that love to cook.

We stopped at Stokes Produce as this stand seemed to have more variety. The other vendor was several hundred yards away at the opposite end of the market. We purchased Georgia peaches, sugar plums, a seedless watermelon and freshly fried BBQ pork rinds. A $21.00 purchase that they reduced to $20.00 upon request. Stokes Produce had a few dozen fruit and vegetables to choose from, boiled peanuts, hibiscus bushes and even sod for your lawn. When choosing a watermelon, the young lady working that stand taught me how to knock and what to listen for when picking a fresh melon. Georgia peaches and sugar plums were fresh and juicy. My daughter and I ate most of them on the drive home to Florida. She didn't care for the pork rinds, but I found them fresh and tasty. We haven't eaten the watermelon yet, so I cannot report on that. Polite and friendly staff - they answered all of my questions. A decent experience, but I expected more vendors. William E. Lewis Jr. Vero Beach, Florida.

Previously known as Wilmington Island Farmers' Market, this year (2019) it is located on the property of Lighthouse Baptist Church (401 Quarterman Drive at the corner of Highway 80 E & Quarterman Drive) on Talahi Island. According to their website, the hours are every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from March-June and September-December, rain or shine. Parking - There is parking on the premises. That Saturday, a few weeks ago, the info booth for IFM was located in the back to the right, if you are looking at the market from the parking lot (not sure if their location changes from week to week). They informed me of a Kids' club called "Little Sprouts Kids' Club". I got a card for each child and every time the children go to IFM, they get a little sticker (kind of like a punch card) and at the end, they get a little prize. That week's activity was making puppy collars and bones. They had a good supply of things for them to make it and my kids thoroughly enjoyed that. In general, I look for actual farmers at Farmers' Market (well how about that?). There were only a few vendors who actually sold local produce. My routine at a Farmers' Market is, walk around once and take note of the most intriguing vendors, eat prepared foods if I see something I want to try and then shop at the end. The following are the vendors I actually purchased from: Krazian - an asian fusion food truck. My kids and I shared a plate of chicken wings. Very good. La Petite Ferme Microgreens - Sweet Pea sprouts. He cuts it right there if you'd like or have some already boxed that cut at the market. Was still nice and crisp a couple of weeks later. Brothers in Farms LLC - hydroponic lettuce, both leafy lettuce and a hybrid of leafy and romaine. It actually has the root still on so if you need a little boost, dunk the root in water and put it back in the fridge. They were great with the Korean BBQ I made that night! Le Cafe Gourmet - croissant. So good! Savannah Rum Runners Bakery & Cafe - 2 cake pops (1 vanilla and 1 chocolate) and a Key Lime mini bundt cake. Cake pops were demolished in seconds by my kids on the spot. Key Lime Cake was for hubby and he thought it was way too tart. I did not purchase from these vendors, but other vendors that stood out for me were: Gruber Farms - the largest Farmer vendor there. They had quite a large selection of fruits and vegetables. It is strawberry season, so they had little baskets and big buckets for sale ($15). They had a great assortment of vegetables. T's Bees - local honey, right from Wilmington Island. Boathouse - organic soy candles and some artwork. I checked IFM's website and it seems that they have a lot of vendors than what I saw on Saturday. Maybe the vendors vary by week? I think that they have a good mix of vendors from different categories. I would definitely like to see more "Farmers" though. All in all, great place to get some local produce and a quick bite!

I like this place because it's small enough to be in & out, but put together well enough for kids to stay the whole morning if you choose. Such a fantastic community gem. My daughter loves going.
