I needed to dispose some old motor oil and a broken laptop in a responsible way. Luckily, my resident county had a recycling facility for it's citizens. The county residence verification process was simple. My Texas driver license was accepted as proof. The cost of disposing the laptop was $5. The cost for motor oil disposal was $0. Good on you for trying to recycle and keep our landfills free of hazardous materials! These people are trying to help, but you need to be aware of a few things: 1) the location is great for the county, but not for most people; 2) you have to pay - your stuff is in principle of some value, but doing the right thing costs you in Sugar Land; 3) the people are helpful but if you have bit of plastic in your cardboard, it's not going to work; 4) bring cash, they don't take cards. read more
