I liked this place. Cute set up with counter and outdoor seating. We were seated quickly and our service was friendly. I got a lavender latte with pecan milk on our servers recommendation, made in-house. I drank it, but I wasn't blown away. I ordered the avo toast, eggs fried hard and it was tasty; did the job. I didn't like the surprise, pricey up-charges: 1$ extra for the pecan milk. 2$ for my friends turkey bacon. Pumpkin bread pudding was good. I'd give it another shot after seeing the waffle walk past me...looked great! read more

Rude and very cold staff. One in particular needs a lesson in how to put the customer first. I don't remember her name but she was a hostess. I felt like I was a burden to her as well as my family. I felt unwelcome and very disappointed at this establishment. I hope none of you ever experience what I experienced today. Please train your staff properly!! read more

My group of friends and I tried to eat here and were sat on their patio outside. It was a little chilly and the wind was blowing, so we were hesitant to sit outside, but the server said they'd bring us some hot coffee to warm up. I adore the vibe of this place: bright, airy, and simplistic. The food presentation is fantastic and service is warm and friendly. To start things off, I think I've found my new favorite breakfast drink: the Golden Milk Latte (steamed mik with turmeric-- SO good) made with the in-house cashew milk. My avocado toast was pretty good; the toast was grainy and flavorful, I'm pretty sure I ate an entire avocado and poached eggs topped it off. I felt that it was lacking some flavor though (perhaps the eggs/avocado could use more spice). I also tried the Quinoa Brulee, essentially a porridge with a bit of brown sugar sauce, walnuts, and caramelized bananas. Definitely simple but satisfying, although I would have liked it to be a bit more creamy. Another note: our food arrived before our drinks since the food was ready pretty quickly. Our server was incredibly apologetic about it and gave us one of the lattes for free, so I didn't find it to be a huge deal. All in all good experience, but the food didn't *quite* live up to my expectations. However, if I find myself in the Austin area again, don't be surprised to find me retrying it :) read more

Amazing service and environment! Perfect downtown brunch. I had the wild mushroom toast, and it was delicious and devoured. I'm a picky matcha drinker, and they have the best matcha I've had at a restaurant. And they have oatmilk! My hubby had the the pastrami hash and raved about it! I was attending a Armstrong McCall hair show and had arrived very early on Monday morning and couldn't find anything open downtown. So, I went to my trusty Yelp app and found this little gem. Amazing food. It is a pretty small little place and enjoying siting with strangers is a plus. There are several tables but there are some tables with benches that are almost family style. In better weather seating outside is available. The food was stunning and the flavors classic. I had a breakfast bowl and the portion was perfect for a light breakfast. I enjoyed watching the business men and women from the offices located in the building come in for pastries, coffee, and to go orders. I can not speak of parking because I had parked at the TexDOT offices and walked to the convention center. Great food, great price, and good portions. read more

We definitely ordered too much... the waffle assortment appetizer is NOT small, but no complaints here. We tried the waffles, drip coffee, breakfast sandwich, and burger at the recommendation of our server. All were incredible, and perfectly cooked. Service was very attentive and super friendly! There was a bit of a wait (surprisingly on a Monday afternoon), and there isn't much seating and it was raining outside. This restaurant is a three star at best. We arrived first thing in the morning so as to avoid the wait. I had the French toast with a side of egg as well as a drink. My friend had the chicken and waffles, with the side of egg as well as a cappuccino. She really loved the cappuccino. The waffles had no taste. She like the flavor of the chicken and enjoyed the syrup - as there was something different and distinct about the syrup. Her food came out luke warm, which we definitely gave feedback on. Since we had to leave for a conference, there was no time to redo the meals. My food was also lukewarm but I would have to give my French toast a 4/5. The eggs, I could've done without, and I absolutely love eggs. The eggs were mediocre at best. They were lukewarm, had no taste, and it came out after I've eaten half of my French toast/meal. I remember, I also ordered coffee and had to ask for sugar and a spoon to stir my coffee. Slow service. Food is fresh but not worth the money. I actively watched them turn away two customers and it's only 2mins after 11AM. Never can back to check to see if we needed anything after food arrived. Bad customer service. Won't be back and wished I could receive a refund not worth it at all. $27.58 not worth it read more

Huge bummer cuz this place doesn't sell their brunch menu after noon which is when we went which meant I couldn't try a lot of their fan favorites like the pork hash and the forthright Benedict. They have their breakfast and lunch menus to choose from the entire day so I settled on the turkey BLT. Our food took quite awhile to come out and our hostess could have been a bit less short with us but I could tell the ingredients were all cooked with care and high quality. We were in Austin for a girls trip and looked up the best brunches downtown before finding Forthright. It's a little difficult to locate in an office building without great signage but trust me it's worth the trouble. We had about a 20 minute wait on a Friday morning and they directed us to an outdoor waiting area where we had some coffee and mimosas from their takeout counter. We both ordered the chicken and waffles for our meal and it was absolutely delicious! A good portion of chicken and peppers were a great touch. I wish we could have returned again before our trip was over! read more

I cannot stop thinking about the CINNAMON ROLLS!!!! OMG!!!! They were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of frosting. The cinnamon sugar inside had a wonderful crunch to it. I was visiting Austin and looking for a good brunch spot. I got the chicken and waffles and they were pretty good for the most part, they could use a spice component. My dad got the mushroom toast which I thought was very good, better than the waffles and made me wish I got that! Cold brew sort of bitter but I didn't mind. 5.0! Finally had brunch at Forthright a few weeks ago and I was blown away. The eggs benedict sub the pork belly out for fried chicken was ridiculous. The chef came out from the kitchen and shared with us that he tried out a new way of cooking the chicken - sous vide - and it was so tender, perfectly cooked and went very well with the eggs and muffin. The capuccino was delicious as well. Others at my table ordered the fried chicken and waffles and the avocado toast - they were raving about the flavors! Forthright is super cute, bright and the staff there are friendly and chatty. You must try it out! read more

I'll preface this is more about the service than food, although the food looks better than it is. Service: The hostess was great, short wait and we got sat at the end of the bar. Nice spot and decor, modern and chill vibe. Menus are accessed by QR code although that code is only available outside at the door and host table. None at the table which doesn't really make sense but ok. Ordered coffee and then ordered the avocado toast and American breakfast ( should've been called cold breakfast). Coffees came out 10min but the food took forever. Forever meaning that a group next to us sat down 10min later, ordered, ate, paid and was about to leave...then our food came out. We had to ask the waitress to check when to be honest, she could see our status since she walked by us about a dozen times. A simple, "hey sorry we're slammed and your order is next" or "sorry it's taking so long". She wasn't super helpful or nice about it. When the food did come out it was cold af. I mean how tf do you have cold poached eggs and cold bacon? The plating is definitely IG worthy and if it was warm it'd probably taste awesome. Sadly they lose a lot of points. Come here if you want something for your IG reel but bring a snack for that wait time. read more

Nothing wrong with the service or their outdoor seating. The issue was just the pork belly hash. When I think of hash I think of a small cubed sweet potato and the sweetness coming from that. But they put a very generous amount of "spicy" maple syrup on the whole dish of huge potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Huge miss for me. I wanted savory meat and potatoes but got a very overly sweet dish instead. Wife said her pork belly Benedict was rubbery and under seasoned. It's definitely not an expensive place, so that's definitely a positive. Also their COVID precautions were on point, which is appreciated. read more

I'm going to give this a low rating. I picked them because they specifically had biscuits and gravy which is one of my faves. It was literally the worst I've ever had. It had a weird aftertaste I still can't get out of my mouth. I also had egg added and they had no flavor. Almost rubbery. Now, the bright spot, I got a side of potatoes that were very good. This was disappointing and one of the lowest reviews I've ever given. read more

Also the lasanga was excellent..and best part - the leftovers..took it home and the next two days put them in a small cast iron and re-heated them..and the magic was right there in my hill country kitchen!
