There was no water available on the course. They had the little huts, but no coolers inside. It was 90 degrees today. No drink cart on the course. No water on the course. That's insane. The course is still challenging and fun to play, but seriously...it could be so much better. Especially considering the location it's in. They seem to be riding on the fumes of the reputation they had decades ago.

I booked this round on their website and no where on the site did it mention there was a tournament and we were booking right behind a tournament. The pace of play was unbearable. Now listen, I understand tournaments are there to have fun and not play as fast as normal rounds but I never would've booked this had I known there was a tournament. Not listing that on the site is messed up in my opinion. There were two incredibly slow groups in front of us behind the tournament that actually played slower than the tournament. I watched the guy in front of us playing in a foursome hit 8 shots before he reached 100 yards on a par 5. Not once did a marshal come around and tell them to pick up the pace or keep up with the group in front of them. Not one marshal to be found. $107 per person to golf here and a 6 hour round. Nice! AJ at Grip It Golf took the time to get my equipment dialed in properly, explaining "the why" throughout the entire process. He set me up with a great deal on a fitted set of irons and later matched my driver with the proper shaft. His turnaround time was impressively fast, his pricing is very reasonable, and his knowledge of the game and equipment is second to none. What a gem of a local golf shop right down the street from me!…read more I was looking at potentially getting my grips changed or my lie angle on my irons adjusted. AJ hopped on the phone with me and after I explained what I wanted to do, he advised me to do something different. When I brought the club in, he swapped my grip out super quickly. But, he also noticed that the ferrule wasn't flush with the shaft. The iron head had to be resealed. Taylormade doesn't do a great job at it and it happens from time to time with their irons. AJ said he could fix it and let me know it would cost $24.99. Not a bad price considering there's a lifetime warranty with it, he guaranteed that it won't come off. The grip was about $13 and I'm assuming the install was $5. My total for the reseal of the iron and change of grip was about $43. Not too bad considering if I didn't bring it into him, I wouldn't have known my 7i had to be resealed. I very well could've lost my 7i on the course or in the middle of a driving range. Definitely going to AJ for any and all golf related needs in the future!

The course was built in 1968 and designed Jack Fleming. Napa GC is an 18-hole full service championship daily fee golf course with (a little dated) practice facilities consisting of an 8,500 sf putting green, chipping green, and 22 stall driving range with synthetic mats. The clubhouse has merchandise from golf balls to clubs. Napa GC offers golf lessons from PGA Class A Professionals on staff, with year round adult and youth lesson programs for players of all skill.
