I am writing this review after one of the worst money transfer experiences I have ever had.
I used Ria to send money to my Orange Money wallet in Ivory Coast, a service Ria advertises as instant or completed "within minutes." Instead, my transfer has been stuck for more than 24 hours, and Ria still cannot give me a real explanation or solution.
The most frustrating part is the misinformation and contradictions coming from their customer service:
* First, they told me the transfer was already "released."
* Then they said it was "waiting on their partner."
* Now they're claiming that the third-party company (Thunes) may take 0 to 72 business hours to complete a mobile wallet deposit -- something Ria never tells you before you send your money.
If a service can take up to three business days, it should NOT be promoted as instant.
This is misleading at best, and dishonest at worst.
I also received two missed calls from a Ria number, yet nothing was updated and I was given no explanation. My money is stuck, I cannot cancel the transaction, and I cannot access my own funds -- while Ria keeps giving me vague, scripted answers that contradict their own advertised timelines.
This has caused me stress, inconvenience, and a complete loss of trust in Ria's reliability. When someone sends money internationally, it is usually urgent and important. To have it held up like this with no transparency is unacceptable.
Ria needs to take responsibility, fix their communication, and stop advertising "instant" transfers if the reality is a possible 72-business-hour delay. Until they improve, I cannot recommend this service to anyone.
