So, we finally decided to try out Bromley Lodge. The lodge was smaller than what I expected, but seems really nice, I loved the interior design. When it comes to the coffee and food, it seems really small for the prices we paid. In fact, the coffee was so small, that my friend & I had to order a second cup of coffee. The food, was very tasty, but as I said the portions were small. I ordered the Avo on Sourdough & my husband ordered scrambled egg. My husband was disappointed with his portion as well, he was given one slice of toast with his eggs, it would have been great if he got 2 or 3 slices, for the price we were paying. At the end, we went to pay, we were told to pay together. I looked at the receipt when we got home and they had overcharged us. I have tried to contact them about it, but there was no answer. I hope to contact them again & I hope they do answer. I would recommend the food here, but the service can be quite slow, some of the staff are friendly, where others are not & you might get overcharged (make sure to check your receipt before leaving).

Good strong (genuinely) coffee is complimented with a cake selection straight out of a children's book, which is also on constant rotation. The pancakes deserve their own twitter feed. The cafe itself is really relaxing with a great view. Its cozy in the winter, with a large outside area when the sun comes out. Staff are great and the place feels like a focal point in the town. Reviews always seem unbalanced/questionable without some form of criticism, but I can't be arsed trying to think of some small thing that wasn't a problem in the first place. Anyone who ever gave it all up to start their own cafe had this place pictured in their head when they took the plunge. Really looking forward to it opening in the evening this summer

If you are lucky enough to visit this town, make sure you drop into the Rivers End Cafe perched right on the edge of the river as the name suggests. It's a really lovely cosy cafe style spot, decoated in a nautical theme, with tables and chairs set outside on a lovely day like this. Food is really good as it's freshly prepared, but be warned as you ay have to wait a little while for service as they are so busy. They serve breakfast until late morning and a huge selection of delicious homemade cakes pastries and scones which are impossible to resist, not to mention a whole range of sandwiches, wraps and panini - served with a light salad. Lovely friendly staff, eager to help and make you feel welcome and wanted! Would highly recommend this spotlessly clean cafe in one of the most beautiful settings to be found around Ireland.

The location is pretty far from Cork center, which makes it hard to reach without a car, but Uber does serve that area with a bit of a wait.
