Durbuy is an unbelievably charming little town. Lots of wonderful sights and a fantastic location. And this restaurant here was a great choice to get some lunch. Definitely the best food we've had during our stay in Belgium. It was a bit of a rainy day but the terrace was fully covered and warm enough, so we took a table there. Our Bulldog was welcome as well.
There was no english menu and our waiter didn't speak english as well. Luckily I freshed my limited french up a bit the past few weeks, so ordering was no problem.
Ordered some wine and beef carpaccio with burrata and a plate of bone-marrow. Never had the combination of burrata (a milkier, creamier version of mozzarella) and carpaccio. But it was a perfect match. Very good choice. The bone-marrow was as it should be. Nicely roasted. Creamy bone marrow, nicely spiced. If you love bone-marrow, then this is for you. They did it very well here. For the main we've had warm foie gras and truffle ravioli in cream sauce. Both dishes perfectly done. Foie gras was cooked to perfection. Great quality as well. We just love Foie Gras. The truffle ravioli another great choice. A good size load of pasta and a rich sauce with some truffles (besides the truffle-filling). Very very good.
All in all a great place to have lunch or dinner. Great atmosphere as well. Fair prices. Really enjoyed our meal here. read more
