I can't believe it's been 11 years since my last review of Foundry Provisions. In (belated) celebration of women's history month and Kimi being the wonderful owner that she is, I figure it's time for an update. This spot is a neighborhood treasure. You'll frequently find folks who walk in from the neighborhood or students from the neighboring schools popping in here all hours of the day. You can find everything from seasonal Matcha lattes to savory sandwiches and donuts. They do a great job at supporting other local businesses in the ingredients thy feature on the menu. The space offers both indoor and outdoor seating including high top countertops if you want to work for a few hours. I love grabbing a coffee here and hitting the sidewalk for walk and talk meetings given the charming surroundings. It's been a joy to watch 16th St. evolve over the last few years and I can't wait to see how it continues with anchor businesses like Foundry Provisions in the mix. read more

this place is truly a gem and one of my go-to study spots. their menu is extensive, the staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere makes it a great place to camp out for the day to get work done. their prices are also extremely fair in comparison to other coffee shops in indy and i love that they open early. i typically run cold but it's always fairly warm in here because there's so much natural sunlight coming in (which i love!) i tried their lunch special grilled cheese and tomato soup which was fantastic. i do wish they toasted the bread a little more to give it more of a crunch, but i loved the tanginess of the tomato soup with the cracked black pepper. i've also had their americanos and lattes, and both hit the mark on the head. the espresso never tastes burnt and the drinks are never too sweet. i personally love their toasted marshmallow syrup. I used to come in here a lot more when I worked nearby. It was great to get back! I miss the booths and the coziness they provided but I understand there was a need for more seating. One of my favorite things about this coffee shop is that there is so much natural light that pours in through the windows. If you need a dopamine boost, this space will give it to you! They had a matcha specialty drink for St. Patrick's day. It was tasty and came with two marshmallow lucky charms. They have food options as well I believe like breakfast sandwiches and more. They also shave a super cute patio space for when the weather is nice. The baristas are friendly and helpful and will take time answering questions if needed. I needed a warm drink for the road, as I was about to leave Indy to come home to Louisville. Foundry Provisions was on the corner and was perfect. This spot isn't huge. Most tables were taken, but it didn't feel crowded, just bustling. I was able to walk right up and put in my order. I got a hot lemon mint tea, and while I waited just a minute or two for my drink, I checked out the locally made baked goods. I ended up getting two giant sugar cookies for my kids as well, which made them extra happy to see me when I got home. I was in and out of the door in just a few minutes, but I could tell that I wouldn't have mind to stick around a bit longer. This seems like a clutch neighborhood coffee spot. It's morning, haven't had any coffee yet, and was by this place so I decided to check it out. I really didn't know what kind of drink I was in the mood for, so I asked the worker for suggestions. He gave me some good ones...the dirty chai with toasted marshmallow sounded tasty (fall drink) but then he showed me the February menu, and why not since it's February. I went with the Cupid's crush with oat milk which was white chocolate raspberry mocha and it sure hit the spot. It reminded me of the graters black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream which I love! I got a small and it was about little over $8, so pricing is a little higher for this cup of Joe. The inside isn't very big, but looks like a popular spot to be productive as they offer free WiFi. They have table, booth, and bar top seating options. I also noticed outlets, so convenient to charge up devices. They don't have a parking lot though as this is downtown-ish, but I found free parking on Alabama side street in front of houses, not too bad of a walk. During warm weathers, they have outside seating available. They are bike friendly with bike racks. I wasn't hungry at this visit, but they do have food items and ice cream for sale. read more

I'm not sure I could even tell you how long I've wanted to visit Foundry Provisions. I don't even know what to call this place. Is it a coffee shop? It feels like more than that. Is it a breakfast hangout? It feels like more than that. I don't know. Maybe I don't need to name Foundry Provisions. I just need to be grateful for it. Foundry Provisions is nestled in this quiet little corner of the Herron-Morton Neighborhood. Truthfully, I've passed this place lots of times and never quite realized it was here. Lately, I've been taking this route to work to avoid some road construction. So, I started passing it and one day it finally clicked "This is Foundry Provisions!" Hey, I may be a Yelp Elite All-Star but that doesn't mean I'm the smartest Yelp Elite All-Star! Okay, so first of all. I love the atmosphere here. I love everything about it. It's warm. It's welcoming. It's retro. It's comfortable. Foundry Provisions offers coffee, breakfast pastries, breakfast items, lunch items (with cool names like Vonnegut, Harrison, and TC Steele (You're a real Hoosier if you get the TC Steele reference) and more. While this is an 8am-3pm place, Foundry Provisions has live jazz on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm through Oct. 8th. That's what I like here. Seriously. I like the communal vibe. I like the sense of welcome. I like the overall wheelchair friendliness (not quite perfect - but much better than expected). I like the fact that it's within walking distance of Loudmouth Books and other cool places. You may very well see some students from Herron High School down the street. I love that Foundry supports local - big time. You've got familiars like Tinker Coffee, Amelia's Bakery, Broad Ripple Chip Co., Shapiro's, Smoking Goose, and 4 Birds Bakery along with lesser knowns like No Label at the Table, Urban Contessa, ReproGraphix, Nelson's Tea and others. The prices are fair. The foods phenomenal. Gimme all the cinnamon rolls. Seriously. The TC Steele rocks - a toasted smoked turkey sandwich with garlic aioli, provolone, and spinach. Yum. I will admit one of my hesitations in coming here was intimidation with the parking, however, it's truly not that bad around here. This is one of the best little neighborhood coffee spots. They have tables, a barstool level countertop and a sun-filled patio. Great for working, studying, or meetings. I've lingered here for morning, afternoons and sometimes full days, buying a breakfast sandwich and staying for a lunch panini! They have drip and specialty coffees and ice cream! In the summer, the strawberry shortcake with ice cream is not to be missed. This is a solid place to grab coffee. I've been a few times when I'm just north of downtown. It's super easy to park in this area, as there is a parking lot and street parking nearby. This coffee shop is always pretty busy, and seating can be limited unless you arrive early. We arrived Sunday morning, and I ordered the all day breakfast sandwich and the honey bee latte. We sat outside on their patio, and they also have live music. I loved my latte, it was not overly sweet and well balanced. Such a lovely coffee shop in the neighborhood. I visited Foundry Provisions on a Tuesday morning and it was brimming with students and customers from all walks. The ambience is bright and airy with light streaming in through the windows and lovely art paintings on the wall. Foundry sells Tinker coffee which is a local coffee and ice cream + breakfast bagels and sandwiches. Win win! The patio is dog friendly and the red brick gives such a summer vibe to the space. I got the All Day Breakfast sandwich which includes an herbed egg, cheese, and bacon. The bacon was super duper salty in my opinion, but I am sensitive to salt. I love Foundry because it's quick and convenient on my way to Loudmouth, and it makes my day better! Their chai lattes with oatmilk are in my top across the city. I love the TC Steele even if it's not exactly lunch time because I love a hot sammich in the mornings. All the employees are kind and welcoming. People are always working or meeting friends and it feels like a long-time community staple. I got there pretty early (like 7am), so it was easy to find a street spot right next to Foundry, and there were only a few other customers besides me. Foundry's vibes are reminiscent of a diner but with a a little modern twist, making for a fun environment. The barista who took my order was super friendly and helpful. I got their cold brew with oat milk which is always so good. I love that they get their coffee from a local company. I also got their All Day Breakfast Sandwich. I've been meaning to try the breakfast sandwich at Foundry for quite a while now. All day breakfast sandwich seemed to be a popular choice so I gave it a try! It tasted good and was quite filling with the egg and provolone cheese! I got the avocado and skipped the bacon! Update - I've been coming here for years - since around 2012. The quality is still the same as it was back then. I haven't had one of their "press" sandwiches in a while, but they look just as tasty as ever. Grab a "Yule Log" here. It's not on the menu but tastes like Christmas. Trust me. This was my first time at Foundry Provisions after hearing good things from multiple people. I went in on Friday Sept 6, at 10:30am, ordered a macchiato, but accidentally said "iced carmel macchiato" out of familiarity. I was passively corrected that they serve it "the traditional way, so it will be hot" which was fine with me. I asked if we could add some sort of carmel whether it was sauce or syrup (as long i get a hint of some sort). I was lectured of the different types they had and asked me twice if what they had was good. Which I had already stated to them it didn't matter to me. After i payed they asked if whole milk was ok with me and i said yes. After my order was called i picked it up to my surprise was a very light drink and even had my friend pick it up. I opened it; it was just a shot of espresso with foam, with carmel syrup/sauce, in a small cup. I didn't want to ask or bring this to their attention, because i felt like an annoyance/inconvenience already. I was searching for a bagel on a Sunday morning and remembered that Foundry was right down the road. I used their website to order and was very content with the ease of it. I ordered the jalapeño cheese bagel with herbed cream cheese. It was soooo flavorful. I have never had cream cheese like this before, also the bagel was thinner than most and cooked to perfection.
