Went in and spoke to the service advisor at the front desk. Asked about a major tune up and if it included replacing the cap and rotor. Was told that the brakes aren't done for tune up. Asked again about replacing the rotor and again was told brake work is not done for a tune up. I'm ignorant about auto mechanics but if I know more than the person working at the shop that's a sign for me to take my car elsewhere. Use them at your peril. read more

0 stars. Wouldn't even give one. Went for an out of province vehicle inspection. They offered to fit me in the day after I called which I thought was nice! I was told to come in at noon and they would have it done sometime before 5. I wasn't able to do the inspection due to a rock chip and asked if I could book an appointment in 2 weeks once damage was fixed. I was told "we don't know how long the process would take." Made it clear that that was fine but I wanted to book an appointment instead of 'coming in and being fit in'. Sorry. People can't go in at 9 and wait all day for the inspection and take time off work. Avoid and don't waste your time. I can only imagine how bad the inspection is if the process to schedule an appointment is insufficient read more

Matt at the Bowness location went up and beyond normal service, when replacing my front wheel bearings. When the 10 year car is rusty pressing the old bearing out of the existing knuckles is often problematic, but they stepped up their game and provided me with a courtesy car while needing an extra day to complete the work with additional parts. Quality and efficient service. I felt heard, and like I was treated fairly and appropriately. My car had a hole in the exhaust - smelling and running terribly. They checked out the issue, fixed it without any extra costs and in a timely manner. I have had a terrible experience with Fountain Tire Bowness. I had them put on my summer tires and the technicians didn't bother to check that the 4 tires were the same. One tire was a completely different size and brand. The result has been completely dangerous and frustrating. I have been driving in a very unsafe vehicle for the past few weeks and I have had extra expenses to switch in the correct tire. They were not even open on Saturday on the Canada day long weekend to fix it for me so I went to Canadian Tire instead (at the Richmond Road location and got great service). I am not impressed whatsoever. Do not go here for tire needs as their technicians do not pay attention to what they are doing. I called John and he said "they probably should have checked that." Yes, they should have checked that the tires were the same. Never coming here again for any of my tire needs. read more

Buyer beware! I almost got ripped off for an unnecessary service that would have cost me close to $400! I took my car in to have my winter tires put on and received a phone call later that morning saying that they were in the process of changing the tires when the notice my rear brake pads were nearly gone and needed to be replaced. They quoted $390 to replace the pads and rotors. I almost had them do it, but decided to have them replaced at Centaur Subaru. I paid the $130 to have my winter tires put on, not realizing I had also paid $9.10 for "Shop Supplies". That evening we watched CBC Marketplace where they brought up the absurd industry charge of shop supplies. I felt gouged. Back to the brakes. I called Subaru, they couldn't get me in until the following week. I spent the whole week trying not to drive my car, cancelling or rescheduling plans. I took the car in early the following Friday, and within a couple hours I received a call from Subaru saying that my rear brakes were fine, there was 5mm left on both pads, and could safely keep driving for another year or so. The said, "in good conscience, we can't replace your brake pads." My faith in my dealer service department just went up a few notches. I asked them to inspect the front brake pads, just in case Fountain Tire had mad a mistake. Nope, they were also both at about 5mm. I did get charged $65 from the service at Subaru, but they had the brakes serviced, cleaned, etc. I also lost half a day by driving back and forth to Subaru. Very happy with the service at Subaru, but pissed at Fountain Tire for trying to rip me off, costing me an additional $65, and wasting my time. I will never go to a Fountain Tire again. read more

Very poor experience here. I was excited to have a shop so close to home but will never return. The owner, John, is who I dealt with. He was abrupt, cut me off, and generally acted as though I was a nuisance to him. They had my car for three hours when they quoted 90 minutes, and weren't able to rotate my tires, which was the reason I had my car in! I felt frustrated that a 10 second fix on another concern cost me 30 minutes in labour. I briefly interacted with one mechanic, who seemed very kind. For me,it was the owner and his very rude delivery that sealed the deal for me. Avoid this place. read more

I went in for an emergency tire repair and was told I needed almost $600 in repairs to my tie rods. I took my vehicle to my regular garage the next day and was assured that NO, I DID NOT NEED NEW TIE RODS. Crooks. Avoid them! read more

I could not believe that such people like the owner of this particular Fountain Tire exists in Canada. I got to this place just before 6 pm hoping that somebody could help me because my front tire came loose and I just needed some tools to be able to fix it to a safe point. I didn't need help because I know what to do (I'm female). I was worry more for my son because we could've loose the tire on the road. When I got there I asked the owner to lend me a screw driver to be able to get a cap off my wheel and he said that he can not do that. I managed to find a store near by and bought one. But you have to understand the danger I was in with my little one. When I remove the cap I realize that the wheel was hanging just in one screw. Some people coming to the store offered to help me and they could not believe that the owner of this place refused to help me. The worst customer service I ever see in Canada.
