We discussed for 10-15 minutes and he said "I have one you're going to like - I'll put your name on it." I came down a few days later and it was love at first sight, the moment I walked in! All kinds of grand pianos, from petite grands under 5', to 9' concert grands. Rick was very friendly and patient as I played 12-15 different pianos, and he was right - the one I liked the best, is the one he picked out for me. The price and size and condition was right, so I made the purchase. Rick and an associate delivered it as scheduled a week later, and I couldn't be happier. Great guy, good prices, great selection - give this place a try!

I used a Fender certified shop in Pueblo (Elledge) to assemble it. That place was a disaster - they didn't do one thing right with the build. They even put acoustic strings on it! When I showed it to Mike for his opinion, he immediately saw the issues, including a couple I had not noticed. He had to take the entire thing apart but had it rebuilt and playing like a dream in 1 week. My other project was a "partscaster" custom build for a friend. This was a build from scratch (the complete guitar). I left this guitar with Mike for 2 weeks. I called him every few days to get updates and see if he needed anything. When I picked it up, it was exactly as I had hoped and, like the first, played like a dream.

TLDR: Unprofessional communication, hostile customer service, and unorganized handling of…read moreinstruments. I previously had this shop install an LR Baggs pickup on one of my ukuleles and chose to return as a customer. Furthermore, I was explicitly referred back to Mike by a trusted contact within the local music community from whom I purchased my gear. Prior to drop off, I text Mike explicitly explaining that the pickup was cutting out, a wire retention clip had fallen out, and I had to constantly adjust the inner silver wire to get a sound. He enthusiastically text back, "Yeah bring them both in!" I brought that instrument along with another prized possession, an early 2000s Lanikai six string with a broken neck, and dropped them off on August 26. Upon drop off, Mike confidently assured me that he could definitely repair the broken neck, and I left expecting reliable service. Unfortunately, this experience was entirely different. To his credit, Mike did an excellent job repairing the structural neck break on the Lanikai. The neck is securely back together, plays well, and holds stable tension with the original pegs and the new strings and bone saddle I installed myself at home. However, his technical ability is entirely overshadowed by a severe lack of professionalism and poor communication. When I followed up on August 31, Mike explicitly text me stating the turnaround would be "another 5 days at least." I gave him space and waited over a week, checking in on Friday, September 4, and Tuesday, September 8, with no response. After calling twice the next day, Wednesday, September 9, for a standard status update, he became immediately hostile, claiming he was "annoyed by multiple texts and calls" and telling me there was "no need to follow up." I have the timestamped text and call logs saved to prove this completely reasonable timeline. He also attempted to blame his lack of progress on a missing saddle component that he had never once contacted me to ask for during the weeks he held my gear. In reality, I had explicitly ordered the saddle and strings with the intention of installing them myself, and he never once asked about either component before using it as an excuse for his delay. When I arrived in person to withdraw my instruments and pay for the work completed so far, his demeanor completely flipped. He was suddenly overly nice and praising his own repair work on the Lanikai, unable to match the aggressive energy he safely hid behind over text. The ukulele with the pickup issue was left completely untouched. Furthermore, the shop was unorganized; I had to actively prompt him to find and hand over my instrument case and loose hardware components. The hardware had been placed in a bag that he packaged himself, which he completely neglected to return to me until I asked for it, simply replying, "Oh, it's here." It is incredibly disappointing to be treated with such hostility as a referred, returning customer seeking service on a previous installation. If you value professionalism, transparent communication, and organization with your gear, take your business elsewhere. There are far better shops in the area.

I brought my daughter in a few weeks later to let her check it out at which time she talked music with Frank. She had grown a little stale with her last instructor. Her first lesson with Ms. Shin and she was revitalized! She has grown tremendously in the last year and a half. Shin's studio was an answer to our prayers! I had to take the instrument to a different shop, where it was revealed that one of the two valves hadn't even been cleaned (I was told both had been.) I sent the new owner pictures of the valves, told him I found the whole servicing unacceptable, and asked for a refund. I gave it a few days and asked again. No reply. I'm sorry to say it, but I can no longer recommend this shop.

By word of mouth, after trying several local repairmen, I got wind of "Shon" at Sound Town. He combed over the amp tooth and nail, and finally solved the problem for me, a problem that turned out to be not so much a broken component (my guess) as operator error, a change-over from an active to passive guitar, and the need for a suitable pre-amp to boost the signal . It took a lot of testing and reading of manuals and schematics, before Sean figured out what was going on. He went so far as to compare my sound-levels with those of other amps in the stores and he was quite patient and thorough in every regard. I made several trips to the store, and became acquainted with three key people there, all of whom were very nice, and I got a feeling for their special niche in the music world, which is the supplying of sound systems and various components, whether for rentals-out or for purchase. They keep a fair supply of guitar needs and are happy to order anything you might want at a fair price. Though Guitar Center and places like Kolacny's and Flesher-Hinton all have their place, I'll always begin by shopping here because of their patience and kindness. It is a special kind of store with special kind of people, and it always feels good to be patronizing a locally owned business of modest proportions. Bravo!

SO excited to have found a Music Together class in the springs! My 3 yo daughter and I have been…read moretaking this class at least 2x a year since she was an infant. Now that she goes to preschool its our special day of "Music Together" and our special time to be silly, to connect, dance, snuggle, and for me to be super present for her! She looks forward to each session's new music and sings and dances to it long after the class is over. We were especially lucky to land in Mrs. Tracy's class. Her exuberance for sharing music, her kindness towards each child and love for her teaching is ever present for each class!
