However, while it didn't have a decent pub vibe, it did have quite a few craft beers available, which I have to admit was really pretty cool. In fact, the options were really good. However, yeah, it still didn't really have that pub vibe.

They explained the different types of beer on tap and even gave us samples to taste. There's too many to choose from on tap and in bottles. If you do go on a Saturday, you may want to book a table in advance. While there was space by the bar, it was very hard to get a seat. They have outdoors seats too but with it being winter, I think I'll pass. I love the neon lights in the pub as it gives off a reddish hue in the room which makes me think I'm in a 80's bar from America. They've got great music too. The staff is friendly and helpful. Be careful when it gets a bit busy though, some of the servers can get a bit frisky when they're leaning over to collect empty glasses... unless that's your cup of tea. We found it really distracting while trying to maintain a conversation with a friend.

An arcade bar in London. Fun!…read more Being a fan of the American chain Barcade, I was excited to learn about The Four Quarters opening in Peckham. Peckham isn't my usual place to hang out, but as we do have some friends there we headed down for a Sunday evening funday. Right now (July 2014), as the place is still in its infancy, only some of the games cost money with the rest on free play. I'm sure this will transition to most/all being charged as they mature in their business. For games requiring coins, you can swap £1 for $1 in quarters. As an American, I think it's fun to play with actual quarters. I also like that they haven't adjusted the machines to cost a lot to play. The drink selection is pretty massive (lots of craft beers and such), the food selection seems to be still in a trial phase (right now they're doing a menu of various takes on grilled cheese), and the look whole place does have a bit of a work-in-progress vibe. But I really like it! The stools are super comfy, which is nice if you want to sit and play Sega Rally (quite badly, in my case) or just relax a bit. They have Tron - which is really cool to look at, but quite tricky. I should note that I'm pretty sucky at most arcade games in general, but that one kinda kicked my ass. Lots of classics: Pac-Man, Asteroids, WWF, Defender, Street Fighter 2, Star Wars Trilogy, and lots more that I can't remember. There are even a couple pinball machines. Get thee to Peckham and play video games! It's fun!!
