The Four Sales Ltd. team did an incredible job! We can't say enough about Daniel, Mark, and the entire team. We went into our first meeting with Daniel expecting to come away with a vague plan that might help direct our next steps. Instead, we came away with a complete understanding of exactly what would happen, who would do what and when, and a sale date only a week away! The best part was that, aside from removing any personal items, we didn't have to do anything! The pricing was spot on. Items were priced to sell, but nothing was "given away." Four Sales Ltd. has experts in many areas, so they can accurately price items that fall into many niche categories. The Four Sales Ltd. team was always responsive if we had any questions or concerns about pricing or other issues. In fact, they were always highly responsive and available. We could always contact any team member we needed no matter what was going on or how busy they were. There are people who really enjoy going to estate sales. So much so that they will arrive well in advance of the sale day in order to get into the sale as early as possible. This is great and is partially a result of Four Sales Ltd. advertising/publicizing. Part of Four Sales Ltd. services includes what I'll refer to as "crowd control". In order to keep things orderly Four Sales Ltd. doesn't publish the address of a sale until 24 hours prior to the sale date/time. Our sale was to begin on Friday @ 9:00 am. By Thursday @ 9:30 am we had our first customer. Yes, people do sleep in their cars I order to be the first ones in. (Btw, lest this make anyone nervous, all of the early bird customers - at least those at our sale - are people who do this regularly, know the rules and etiquette, often know each other and the Estate Sale operators, and are very nice.) When the sale day arrived ... well, I slept in. In fact, I didn't even go over to the house. From the reports I got, it was a sort of controlled chaos. Our sale turned out to be better than anyone expected. There were people lined up out the door, down the walk, and down the street. It wasn't a huge sale for the Four Sales Ltd. team - they've done many over the past four decades. But, it was bigger than they had expected. In such cases they limit the number of people in the house at one time keeping a lid on security and making it more comfortable for everyone. (There are things the Four Sales Ltd. team did for us that I wouldn't have even thought about!) The next two days saw a steady stream of people, heavy at times, coming to our estate sale. And everyone seemed to be having fun and leaving with treasures that they were excited about. Many people asked me if I was sad to see all the things I had grown up with being sold. But honestly, I was not sad at all. We had already taken things that had special meaning to us prior to the sale. It was good to see our things going to people who wanted or needed them. And it was GREAT having help getting everything out of those nooks and crannies, sorting it all out, selling what we could to people who really enjoyed it, doing the business part of it - exchanging payments, recording items and payments, moving items out and clearing the house. Each day I felt like some of the burden was lifted from my shoulders. By Sunday, nearly everything was gone. Virtually nothing was left unsold. We had another opportunity to retain anything that we didn't want donated or disposed of. I was truly amazed at what the Four Sales Ltd. team accomplished in just one week! Their processes and experience really made the entire event go smoothly and easily and helped turn something we dreaded into an enjoyable, fun, experience. A word about price ... I was not going to discuss price in this review until I found that the review form requires it. But, it allows a zero entry, which is what I entered. The review form is a little vague, asking for "approximate cost of service" or "approximate out of pocket cost". There are various costs depending on the services a customer wants. In our case, our objective was to "clear the house out". That meant sell everything possible, donate anything that would not sell, and dispose of anything left over. That's about the full gamut of activities possible and there are costs associated with each of them - the sale itself, hauling, etc. Our gross was ~ $22k and our net was ~ $11k. Cleaned out house after 37 years of collecting from all over the world and happy living in it. On agreed date auction selector came first and designated what he wanted, next the donations person took what they wanted, finally three folks from 123Junk took the rest except for flammables, poisons, and hazardous garden chemicals. Those need to be delivered to the county collection points for that material or you may be able to arrange a special pick up with the county. Starting at 730AM the place was broom clean by 7:30 PM including broken flower pots from around the outside. Thoroughly professional team did a superb job. Do not get in the way, they know what they are doing. Make sure what you or "the Family" wants is out of there a week in advance of "The Date" any second guessing on the clean out date is seriously counterproductive. From the initial meeting to define the task to a second meeting when we decided to do an auction on their site rather than our prior plan for an onsite "Estate Sale" we were impressed with the effortless professionalism of the Four Sales Team. Rely on it, they know what is best for you and they will do it!. They are number one in the Mid-Atlantic because they deserve to be. Before we got together we wasted our time, effort and money on a dumpster to get rid of stuff before the estate sale-big mistake. Select auction, pick a date, sign the contract and "get out of the way". Hire Four Sales to do an auction on their site and clean out the rest either to donation or trash. They are professionals doing the work and providing timely documentation including checks from auction sales and donation price-outs for the taxes. We called on Four Sales for assistance in selling my mother's belongings and cleaning out the home to ready it for sale. Four Sales listed my mother's estate sale as "A Very Full House" and that was probably the biggest understatement you can imagine. Despite having spent multiple weekends trying to clean out and dispose of my mother's many belongings, my wife and I were overwhelmed at the sheer magnitude of the endeavor. Luckily, a friend suggested an estate sale and recommended Four Sales. We called Four Sales and some other estate sale companies to compare costs and services, and while others may have been a bit cheaper, it was clear from the beginning the Four Sales was operating on an entirely different level. I am executor of my uncle's estate, work full time, farm part time and live 200 miles from my uncle's home. The event was professional and the staff seemed genuinely interested in helping answer questions about items for sale.
