Very rude and unappreciative about a $10 tip on a $50 service. I didn't like her attitude towards it.

Because my favorite massage therapist was fully booked, I was offered to see Rich Sole, who worked…read morein the same building under a different business name, sharing space with her. He does have excellent abilities with a massage, but other elements began to occur as I continued to use his services. He incoporated Reiki into his sessions, without asking permission or educating me first he would be doing so. I am adamantly opposed to the practice of Reiki for spiritual and professional reasons. I am a Christian and a nurse, and I do not believe in the use of "spiritual energy" or "spirit guides" in regards to "healing," either physical or emotional problems. I believe that to be ethical you must ask your clients first if you are planning to incorporate alternative practices into an otherwise traditional massage. He did not ask, and with each visit, added more and more elements. After the first 1-2 sessions, things began to become a little odd, but I tolerate quirks until they affect me. He breathed a certain way through the massage session, which I told him I assumed meant he was giving me cues to relax. He only smiled and said, "OK", but did not tell me what he was doing. My thoughts were validated by someone with more experience with Rich, who told me that he is separating his energy from the client's with the breathing. During our last session, Rich began verbalizing a wide range of opinions, including that he believes "anger settles in the hips", asking me questions about my life issues, and was talking about chakras. At the end of that last session he insisted my head was moving by itself in his hands, Saying his hands were just following the movement of my head. In about 4 sessions things changed from a really great deep tissue massage and relaxation to becoming hyper-focused on Rich's personal theories and my already identified tight areas of muscle got less time & attention. I've since spoken with three people who have shared negative experiences. We agreed the way he gradually incorporated elements of reiki into a massage session is unethical, and we also agreed there was a creep factor present that's hard to explain. I refer people wanting deep tissue massage to try Diann White & Misty Clark, who can currently be found at Covenant Medical Spa & Ameliore.
