One of my favorite Four Seasons! Loved staying here in Florence. Close enough to be walkable but not right in the center of tourists. Beautiful grounds, oasis in the city, amazing rooms, comfort and service you expect. We really enjoyed it here. It would have been nice to come when the pool Was open, but it was February so you can't have it all. When back in Florence this will be our spot again. I wavered between going four stars and not five because wasn't wowed by the restaurant and food the way I have been at other properties, but it's really more of a 4.5, so I'm rounding up! read more

This review is for the spa only: I'm disappointed to say that I did not enjoy my experience with The spa at The Four Seasons In Florence. I scheduled a 75 minute deep tissue massage and what I actually got was a 75 minute appointment where I did not actually get the massage for 75 minutes. In fact, the appointment Even ended a few minutes before the 75 minutes had been completed. The amenities at the spa are limited. I was frustrated they didn't even have simple things like make up remover. The facilities are small and don't include the hot tub and pool. Apparently that's an additional €80 which is pretty surprising. There are two saunas, One steam and one dry, and the saunas are small so if there are multiple people the ability/comfort to use the facility is quite limited. Just when you think life can't get any better, it does, welcome to the Four Seasons Florence, just perfection in one of the most amazing cities in the world. Everything was just perfect from the moment we were greeted at the entrance to the sad departure, I just didn't want to leave. Rarely if ever do I eat at a hotel, this was an exception worth making. The decor is breath taking, service is impeccable, the property is gorgeous, the gym has everything you need, Michelin star restaurant, wonderful spa, fun/special events like farmer's markets in the garden, beautiful/spacious suites with a large plate of nearly every type of fruit waiting for you on your dining table overlooking your private balcony, which overlooks the garden. Couldn't ask for more and worth every penny. This hotel is absolutely deserving of their 5/5 star rating. When I treated my family to Europe in December, we brought my parents and uncle from Korea to this gem and they still rave and dream about our experience at this hotel over all the places we stayed in Paris, Florence, Rome, and Brussels and their entire lives for that matter. Some days are infamous. Others live in infamy. This hotel is a perfect mesh of both. Alessio, Claudio and Jose were the most amazing professionals I have ever come across in the industry. [Thank you for a wonderful day!] Definitely coming back! Here's what you need to do: - have a cocktail at the bar, the go have get comfortable on the patio; - if you like wine, ask for them sommelier and get a recommendation (Rossi of the Brunello di Montalcino is absolutely delicious); - order a pizza (it is the best in Florence); - walk through the garden and get lost; - visit the Magnolia (at the very end of the garden); - visit the chapel; and - hang out at the pool. Ciao Florence! May I just begin with WOW! Four Seasons never disappoints! From the moment that we entered the hotel, warm welcomes. Luggage's were swept away and delivered directly to the room. We were taken from the front by a golf cart to our specific area where we were staying - La Villa. Check-in was quick and easy. The property is extremely well kept, and just absolutely stunning. Everyday our room was cleaned twice, in the afternoon and in the evening. Of course if you do not want it serviced you can ask them to come back at a later time. Anytime we encountered staff they were extremely friendly and welcoming. The check-out process too was quick and easy. If I could stay here every time in Florence I would! Thank you Four Seasons for a phenomenal experience! Four Seasons Pool Restaurant : We ate twice at this restaurant twice. The first time we experienced a delicious dinner. Of coarse service was great! We were seated near the kitchen side, what a neat experience! Watching the chefs work their magic in creating mouth watering dishes. To begin: A tray with two different types of crackers and pickled olives. I am allergic to olives and did not have the opportunity to try them but my family really liked them. To eat: The Florentine T-Bone steak! This is a portion size for 2 (1.2 KG) which totaled €52 per person served with grilled veggies. Ordered it medium, to the table it normally comes medium rare however it is served on a board in which slightly cooks the meat to your own preference! Caesar salad: large portion with large pieces of fresh Parmesan and thin bread slices yummm! 25€ Chianina burger: the meat from this burger is made from a high quality meat. Ordered On the burger was cheese and an Italian green pepper. Totaling 34€ Overall I would recommend giving the steak a try! read more

Beautiful, with flawless grounds and impeccable service. Really pleasant gardens and the suites are so comfortable. The rooms just feel good quality and the whole place smells great. Atrium Bar is a nice place to unwind. The spa is also tops. The concierge and porters were so helpful and hospitable; such a distinct ease in the whole stay here. Wow, what can I say about this place, it has style and service beyond my imagination or expectations. The gardens are enormous, second largest garden in all of Florence.The spa and pool area's are clean and huge. The gym featured every imaginable piece of equipment you could desire. Our suite was big, comfortable and super clean. The bathroom was gorgeous. The grounds offered several patios for sipping a espresso and viewing the beautiful statue's in the gardens. Room service was fast and efficient. Whatwver you needed there was staff to fill your requests. As far as I'm concerned there isn't another hotel to stay in while visiting Florence. read more

I give this hotel a 3.5 stars. The deductions are due to the following reasons: 1) we checked in for our honeymoon cpl of days ago. The room that I got was already upgraded. Paying 480 euros per night for it but as soon as my wife walked away to look around, the front lady asked if I wanted to upgrade to a bigger suite for only 200 more euros per night. I wasn't going to pay another $400 euros on top but since she brought it up, we agreed to see this new room before going to ours. After seeing it we decided and went to our own room. I was disappointed bc I didn't think a 5 stars hotel like the 4 seasons would try to sell more expensive rooms last minute. I get that there might be anice incentive in place for some of the employees to sell but it just doesn't look good for a hotel like this. I was turned off. 2) paying $480 euros per night, I was expecting a better room. I mean the room is big but I wasn't crazy about the decor or our view (small area of the garden) 3) I ordered room service: burger. Asked for medium well but the burger was more know the well done side. Almost dry and hard to eat. So those are the reasons. Beside those the interior decor of the hotel is very nice and the staff are all nice and professional as well. They all speak english. But it is safe to say thay I will not stay here again. read more

I am a proud subscriber to the Four Seasons Hotel chain's philosophy, in which the hotel's patrons reign supreme and are treated to the world's finest in terms of luxury. After staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, I cannot emphasize enough that this particular hotel not only meets the high standard established by other Four Seasons locations, it surpasses it. The garden and the pool are both beautiful (as well as the lobby itself - the frescos and sculptures are beyond lovely), but it is the restaurant that skyrockets this hotel beyond excellency. The service is mind-blowing as is the food. There was one particular server (sadly I forget his name) who treated us like absolute royalty and was incredibly kind to my daughter, as he referred to her as "princess." I will be coming back to this wonderful hotel, and I guarantee you that if you stay even one night here, you'll be clamoring to return for a thousand more. The best. The gardens are amazing and a peaceful respite from the bustling city streets. The rooms (we stayed in the Villa side) were perfect. Concierge and all the staff where exceptionally helpful and attentive. I felt like we had made new friends by the time we left. The Michelin star restaurant was incredible, but the smaller trattoria was fantastic as well. We got a massage one afternoon and the masseuse was one of the best I've had. Also the spa facilities (steam room, sauna, rain showers) where top notch. The hotel is fairly centrally located and a short walk from the busy city center. My husband and I, along with a group of approximately 10 other couples, spent four wonderful days at the Four Seasons in Florence as part of a work trip. This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Florence, with an interesting history as a former Medici villa. Exceptional hospitality from the Four Seasons, as usual. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay, ensuring that all members of our party were warmly welcomed and had their needs met. We frequently stayed up late in to the evening with drinks in the beautiful bar or outdoors, and the wait staff were friendly, diligent and hospitable throughout, even remembering people's drinks of choice each day. The concierge were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful too, providing us with delightful dining recommendations and securing last minute reservations for us as needed. Spectacular in every way. The history (700 year old Medici family owned castle), the architecture, the staff, the food, the GARDEN!!!! OMG that GARDEN I will dream about for the rest of my life. I will try to forward photos because I was lucky enough to know the GM (we stayed for free and saved a fortune and were lucky enough to see many spots not usually viewed by regular clients,,,, not to brag.... but I just need to.) I thought that Paris (the Georges V, which is with a great view of the Eiffel Tower in its backyard, and where the Queen stays while in town, and boasting a 3 star Michelin restaurant Le Cinq which we enjoyed for 3 hours one night :) would always be my favourite city hotel but now its a tossup. Florence is just heaven. Thank you so much to the gorgeous staff for being BEYOND welcoming. Hubby and I were trying to eat in a fiscally responsible way (ie even when we are paying only half the food meals its still crazy expensive.... so we always ordered not the most delicious looking meal and NEVER dessert.) Yet each night when we returned to our luxury royal suite we would have different decadent desserts waiting for us and free champagne on ice and roses. Then when we checked out we found out not only was the room free, but even our restaurant bill was wiped out. WOW does it help to have friends in high places. Ill add more details about the garden and the history and the staff going above and beyond in a second :).... I tried each restaurant and all were incredible. The view of the 17 acre walled garden when we ate on the patio was not only INCREDIBLE but the soccer (sorry, European Football) team Manchester United was staying at the hotel with us and as punishment for losing to Florence the night before (they were really routed! And totally unexpected as Manchester U was the best in the world at the time) and the coach was so furious he gave them all 6am wakeup calls and then they had to do laps around the garden for 3 hours. Running right past me and hubby and all the other well dressed tourists eating our delicious meals. While taking photos of all the millionaire athletes with massive diamond rings in their ears I could literally SEE from my TABLE. Running round and round. HILARIOUS and PRICELESS!!!!!! The indoor restaurant La Magnolia was stunning as well, Ill post some photos. :) Thank you as always Four Seasons ! PS one other cool detail about the history- as the castle was owned by the Medici family, the richest family in the world and the people who employed Michalengelo and DaVinci and Raphael AND Christopher Columbus- after Columbus discovered America this spot was his first stop when he sailed back. He brought specimen trees from the New World and planted them in THIS GARDEN!!! Im a gardener so these kind of details left me feeling faint I was so impressed. I am incredibly lucky - I've been spoiled with a night at the Four Seasons in Florence. The service is - as you would expect - absolutely impeccable and the building has been beautifully renovated. Our room was gorgeous, very comfortable and offered a wonderful view of the private gardens. Indeed, the hotel has one of the largest private gardens in the city - well worth a look and a bit of a stroll. The lobby is quite stunning but my favorite area was the bar. Old world glamour be mine! We sipped on delicious cocktails (try the Negroni - best I've ever had) while soaking in the luxurious atmosphere. Pure bliss. read more

I would have said this was a lovely stay because we were greeted by a friendly reception and concierge, but one of the managers, PAUL L was incredibly rude, demeaning and unhelpful. This left us with a terrible taste in our mouth. When you stay at a five star hotel, you expect exceptional service.... or at the very least, common human decency and manners. Perhaps we were treated poorly because we aren't a group of 70 year old business men. Avoid Paul and your stay should be pleasant. read more

I booked a room at the Four Seasons Florence (Firenze) with my wife and my four year old daughter and eight year old son, and after spending the day in Florence, we made it back around 9:00 p.m. and decided to try and have a glass of champagne for the New Year. We were with the kids and there was a party happening so the staff sat us in a small room adjoining the bar with these other guests sitting on the opposite side. My four year old daughter, saw that one of the women sitting across from us had a baby with her. She curiously walked over to see the child, the lady smiled and invited her over. Suddenly a man turned to me and said, "Just tell her to get the f*** out of here, okay, thank you." He went on to say. "Just take your family and get the f*** out of here, okay." We were leaving and I had the two kids by the hand when the guy got up and became aggressive trying to physically confront me. I immediately spoke to the manager and the guy came around the corner and started trying to goad me outside and into fight, cursing at me and my kids. I was standing there, holding both my kids hands and this man is threatening to fight me in front of the manager who to my surprise did nothing. He kept asking me "If I wanted to settle this outside", while he cracked his knuckles in the most thuggish way.This all happened in front of the four season's staff and I was appalled at their inability to distinguish between myself and this man who was clearly provoking me. There is never any excuse for violence and I couldn't believe how tolerant the staff were being about a man who was so clearly threatening violence upon me and my family. I really thought the Four Seasons staff handled the situation badly, because all they would say is there are 'two sides to the story', despite witnessing a violent threat and all this infront of my kids. I will never go back to the Four Seasons Firenze and I intend to follow this up with their general management and would caution anyone going to this Hotel about the incompetence of it's staff and their total disregard for their guests safety and the integrity of their establishment and the Four Seasons name. read more

OK...By the grace of God, I've stayed at a fair number of nice hotels in my life, but this dear reader, is the tops! When you pull up to the main entrance, you really have no clue as to the manifold wonders that await you. As soon as you walk in, though the sublime attention to detail of the facility is readily apparent.The hotel itself is only four years old, but the original building, gardens, and many of the frescoes and statues go back many, many years, even centuries, in some cases. It's truly breathtaking to soak it all in. Our room was fantastic with a fabulous bathroom. The hotel sits on an 11-acre garden that must be experienced to be believed. The massive, mature trees on the property are spectacular. It's like having a hotel in the heart of Central Park (NYC), only better. The pool and spa are also spectacular. And, the service was top-notch, maybe the best I've ever experienced. If you have a chance to stay here, you should seize it with both hands. read more

This review is STRICTLY towards the spa services offered at the Four Seasons. While the hotel itself, and service earns 4 stars, the spa was a huge disappointment to my husband and I. If you are looking for a spa service while staying at this hotel, RUN somewhere else. As someone who frequents spas for facial services, it was easy to critique the service itself, as it was simply an hour long "face massage" with various lotions they claim to be exclusive to this spa and pharmaceutical quickly. Service was quickly followed up by an attempt to sell each product used. No steam, no extracting, no mask. Simply a ridiculously over priced face massage. If it were an "average" priced service, it may have earned an extra star. But even for someone who doesn't mind a splurge here and there on vacation, my jaw was dropped when it was time for the bill. Granted, that is completely our fault for not looking into the price before hand. Even if we had, I feel a review on the price itself would have been necessary. €400 !!! Quality: Poor. Do not go to the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze unless you want to be treated terribly by the staff. I was just in Florence for my birthday, and was looking forward to having my birthday drinks and dinner at the Four Seasons. When we got to the bar to order our drinks, the waiters was extremely rude and continued to tell use how we needed to learn how to properly try a bottle of wine. Following a rude and humiliating lecture on the proper way to drink our wine (which in my opinion should be up to the customer when you are paying an outrageous amount of money for said wine), out waiter promised he would come back so that he could teach us the way he wanted us to be drinking in his bar... If this was not bad enough, not once did he come back to check on us or see if we needed anything for another hour. We had to ask three different waiters for another glass of wine, and we looked at like we were some kind of bothersome people disturbing the waiters time to talk amongst themselves. When it was time for us to get or check we again had to ask three different people for the check. When someone finally brought it to us he dropped it in front of us with no word. We were so upset by the experience that we did not end up eating at their restaurant, and will never return again. I never write reviews unless I am extremely happy with an experience, but I feel that this night was so terrible I had to share. All I wanted was a pleasant experience on my birthday, and the staff at the Four Seasons acted as if I was not even worthy to be in their presence. Unless you want to be treated as if you are not welcome, I would never recommend the Four Seasons. I choose the restaurant for my birthday primarily due to its glowing reviews, and I experienced the extreme opposite of what I was expecting. I know that the Four Seasons is beautiful and well-known, but we stayed at another 5* hotel that had a WONDERFUL staff that made us feel welcome and wonderful about our stay.
