A really nice replacement for Nancy's air field cafe. Same great view of a small airport with small planes, mostly single engine, taking off and landing. Always fun to see. Never gets old. The menu is creative and fresh. I had a wonderful blackened haddock sandwich with avocado and slaw. Even better was the strawberry basil gazpacho. What a summer treat. My wife had a great eggplant lasagna. But our guest had a heaping pulled pork platter. I was looking forward to tasting it. read more

Every meal we have at Fourth & Fields has always been excellent. My husband and I have been several times and it's always been delicious. Farm to table... Highly recommend! Our absolute favorite appetizer is the lightly battered mini artichokes. The burgers are super delicious. My new favorite is the Scallops in a corn purée that makes you want to lick the plate. The food is good but the vib regarding reservations required for a tarmac side table is an issue. Hostess claimed both available tables were reserved but were never filled the entire time we were there. Too bad for my 3 year old. Just reminds me of places in the city with overly protective hosting protocols and not the casual chill hidden gem it could be. Also the lemonade was served in a tiny glass full of ice. As others have said: food is slow to come out but I think that is due to a small kitchen and that everything is fresh cooked. read more

Well... it's one of those places that you walk into excited to try because it's a labor of love. Small businesses. Family owned. Farm to table and locally sourced. And then you order... and they don't have what you want. And you ask for the bottle of bubbles and the bottle is - warm. So no crispy skin salmon and husband snagged last of the short rib ravioli. It was me and a burger. Not the end of the world. But not what I came to try. On a Friday. Are they struggling? (Which would be painful). No one wants to see that. Slow. 2 tables ahead of us. Last salmon sold. What?! Empty tables. And a wait for food/service. Breaking my heart. Bar hopping. Dinning room dead. Picked up around 615. Food? Their house spinach artichoke dip is ok. Nothing to brag about. Short rib ravioli is truly homemade - the dough is "doughy" more like a pierogi. They advertise the sauce as truffle... not a lot of flavor. Burger is $20 and very greasy (reason I didn't really want a burger). They were nice enough to bring the bun on the side for my husband, which made all the grease travel over to the salad. The staff is LOVELY, which makes it more painful to review. As I write this, I can actually feel the stomach ache. And my heart sink. I came to check it out because Mullahys will be doing a cheese and wine class in the upcoming weeks. Hate to tell Katie that I need to take a pass. Because I literally hurt my gut. I'm so so sorry folks! I would have preferred not to rate... but I can't see my friends coming with high hopes and wind up with broken dreams! This was date night for us. We had a window seat on the parking area and watch light planes come and go in the twilight. The sunset was spectacular. Courtney was our server. I had an excellent Old Fashioned with Makers Mark. My love had an energetic but juvenile ginger ale. . She had the chicken sandwich which was a generous serving in a bun with a side salad. Excellent. I had the vegetable ravioli in cream sauce. Outstanding. The service is quick and unobtrusive. Two minuses. We had to fight off a pesky fly with whom we were not eager to share our meal. Also, I think the restaurant should have a ground pepper shaker. Just a thought. Oh, we had the today olive bread with spicy dipping olive oil. That was Wonderful! On the positive side, interesting menu and pretty good food (although a bit pricey). However, service was awful. Had reservations for 6 people at 9:00 AM. We were on time and ordered promptly. The first two entrees didn't come out till 10:00 (lukewarm), the rest trickled out little by little - the last one not till 10:15. Note that the restaurant was not crowded at all. We mentioned the extreme wait to two different servers - not much of a response other than "sorry, it's coming soon" and no offer to take any of the food off the bill. We tried maki no reservations but the system wasn't working so we walked in instead. Upon arrival we were asked if we had reservations but since we didn't, we sat in front of the bar because the tarmac for the airport was only for reservations. It was a small area w room for 10 people total. We were excited regardless because the restaurant has a 4.3 review on Google. We sat down and were given water and menus to look at. We never got asked if we wanted anything else to drink so we only had the ONE glass of water from when we arrived. We ordered the Steak, Egg & Cheese and the Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese. We waited so long for our food and we hadn't eaten because this was brunch so we were starving by the time the food finally arrived. The mac & cheese was okay, it just had way too many onion rings on top. The steak sandwich was tough to bite, and the home fries were the only highlight of this whole experience. I wish that the service was more frequent and that we had been offered proper beverages or at least a refill of the water, but because of this, I don't think I'd come back. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but after three visits, I'm done. Every single time, the service has been painfully slow. Most recently, it took over an hour to get our food while other tables that arrived after us were being served much faster. When our food finally came, it was cold -- again. This has been a consistent problem, not just a one-off bad night. I wish they could get it right because the menu has potential, but the execution just isn't there. Very Bad Sunday Breakfast, 3 of us waitress came right over got us water and cup of coffee. Took our order right away. 10 minutes later 2 woman sat down and the got their meal before us, then 2 men 15 minutes after us got their meal before us. Asked where are meal was, approximately 10 minutes later they deliver 1 of our meals, 4-5 minutes later the second meal came out, asked about the third meal, be right out almost 10 minutes later the third meal comes out, an omelette, which was wrong, had spinach not ordered and no toast. Manager kept trying to make excuses and offered us $1.50 off for the spinach, we asked her to stop but kept trying to make excuses. Worst service we can remember. read more

Unfortunately this place is not good at all. Everybody in my party was disappointed and didn't like their food. I had the buttermilk & maple cinnamon waffles, and they honestly were kind of bland and didn't taste like any of the described flavors. I also tried some of the home fries that somebody I was with had ordered, and they were pretty awful. They were thoroughly coated in some kind of seasoning, which was way too much and took away from the simplicity that makes home fries taste so good. It's great to season food, but it was like they had dumped an entire container of seasoning on these things to completely coat them from corner to corner. Another thing that all of my brunch party experienced was all of our food was cold when it was brought out. They weren't even all that busy when we visited, so I'm not sure how that happened. They may need to invest in some heat lamps or something. For the price you're paying for food there, you should be getting warm food at a bare minimum. Even if it had been hot when we got our food though, the food just wasn't good in general. I think what draws people into this place is the airplanes. We saw some small airplanes parked behind the restaurant, but that was it. None were in flight or landing, so once you had looked at the planes out the window that kind of was the end of the airplane excitement. You could probably just drive here and stop to walk and see the planes if that's what you're interested in without having to suffer through their food. read more

What a turnaround! Went here when they first opened - was not impressed. Went for the jazz Sunday brunch today and must say we were pleasantly surprised at how good it is. We sat outside under an umbrella with a nice view of the jazz band. The 3 piece band was professional and talented. Really enjoyed their singing and playing. The food was excellent-well prepared, plated well. Chicken and waffles included 2 cakes and generous fried chicken that was crispy yet not overcooked. The home fries were fresh, plump and crispy with an exciting seasoning. Lemon ricotta crepes were lemony and creamy. Crab Benedict came with 2 crabcakes and 2 poached eggs that were delicious. We could hardly finish our meals, though we tried. The best part was Violette, our server. It's unusual to have service out here in Stow that is attentive and detailed. Violette was both. It would seem that 4th and Field has really dialed things in. We'll give them a try for dinner and Thursday night event soon. The extra effort shows. read more

Replacement for Nancy's Airfield Cafe, which at its best was a fantastic place. Great country atmosphere and view of the airfield and hills beyond; Fourth and Field is promising, but in their second week things need to be ironed out. First, it's much noisier,and difficult to have a conversation, not because of the planes just outside, but possibly because there are no longer upholstered chairs or curtains. A sound absorbent ceiling is badly needed. The new bar area with TV screens is a step down from the quiet good taste of Nancy's. Salmon was very good, but the omelette was rushed: somewhat burned on the outside, and undercooked on the inside. Menu a little thin. They were out of the mushroom burger, and there were very limited appetizer choices appropriate for 2. Portions were very large so maybe it was good we didn't get an appetizer. Looking forward to eating there often when they work out the kinks. read more

This was our second visit, the prior being a positive experience on Mother's Day. We sat in the bar this time. I had a reuben sandwich and my spouse had a chicken caesar wrap. Both were excellent. Also, we had fries...and we are very picky about fries....also quite good. Service was very courteous and prompt. We enjoyed Nancy's Airfield in its day and are happy the new owners are doing a great job. They have also done some remodeling and spiffing up of the place which was needed. Came here for special birthday brunch on a recent Sunday and sat overlooking the tarmac. Lovely views! A plane or two rolled by -- but with all the windows it is noisy indoors, making it nearly impossible to talk and we could barely hear our server. The food was very slow to arrive. My build-your-own omelet was massive, and I would have liked it to have been more delicate, not so heavily layered. My partner's crab Benedict was tasty but also was a lot, with two sizeable crab cakes sitting on English muffin halves, but she couldn't cut through the English muffin. Our server brought our bill before we had finished eating but until that moment had been totally uninterested in us! Oh well, we will try it again sometime! read more

I visited this restaurant yesterday, very disappointed. My reservation was at 12:30. One hour later the waitress told my nephew that they no longer had a Reuben available. Our party of six received meals scattered, not at the same time. My sister ordered a bowl with "roasted vegetables ", they were sautéed in oil , not roasted, the spinach salad which was written in the menu to have goat cheese, it was difficult finding the cheese. Meals that were supposed to be hot were cold. When we came in I asked if I could sit at our table and get a cold glass of water the waitress said not yet. Also the waitress never checked on our table to see if there was anything else needed. Service was poor, with 12:30 pm reservations and getting our food at 2:00. read more

My mother and her friends went here to see a median. While there, they indulged in some "fine dining". They asked for the bill many times, never received it. After their reading, they left. They were chased down in the parking lot saying they didn't pay. They went back in, and paid. Fast forward to two days later and my mother gets a phone call from a DETECTIVE because the restaurant reported her dining and dashing. My mother explained what happened and that it cleared in her bank already and the restaurant was all set so it had to be someone else. The detective understood after getting all the information and said they were all set. All three of them ended up having the shits after leaving there. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I really want Fourth & Field to succeed. They have a lot of potential. The staff, especially our server Antoine, was very professional and friendly. And you can't beat the fun atmosphere of the big picture windows looking out on the airfield. The French fries are as good as I've ever had--crispy and fluffy, seasoned perfectly. The crunchy French toast brunch special, unfortunately, was not. The concept was very creative, but the cereal crust ended up more chewy than crunchy, and not in a good way. There wasn't much flavor either; it felt like the batter needed something extra (maple syrup? orange zest?). It sounded really cool on the menu, but I was disappointed. We're looking forward to coming here again. The airplanes are a great backdrop, especially for kids. They've taken the previous version of this restaurant and made it even better by bringing it to the next level. We're rooting for them!! read more

We went to Fourth and Field with several families last weekend and had a wonderful time. It is a busy time of year with graduations happening all around, and Melissa was incredibly helpful early on and willing to find space for our large group on a Saturday night. The food was delicious, and both adults and children left very happy. The burger was substantial and of high quality, and the bacon wrapped scallops were a treat. Not to mention the lighting and vibe of the restaurant made for a relaxed night with friends and at no point did we feel like a nuisance despite our young children. The outdoor space also allowed the kids to run around and for us to enjoy the peaceful spring night on the airfield. I would highly recommend this restaurant for both the high quality of the food and peaceful ambiance of the airfield. read more

This is the owner's fourth child, hence the name 'Fourth and Field', and this baby doesn't disappoint. We had brunch on the flight deck, sharing a generous portion of their homemade corned beef hash & eggs along side a plate of fruit. Watching planes take off & land while dining is a brief respite from the daily drama that life often throws our way. We're looking forward to exploring their lunch & dinner menu next. The streamlined, tasteful decor includes minimalist themed pictures that allow the runway to garner the spotlight. We just left after our second time eating here and again we're very disappointed in the food and service. For a spot that is set up to attract families with young kids it is not very family friendly. The food took over an hour and my husband's chicken with rubbery and inedible. The kids food was mediocre at best and small portions. So over cooked that one went flying across the table when I cut it. The waitress quickly bright me some more. The English muffins were on the side and were not toasted well at all. I'm so glad this place found a new owner! I love coming here on a weekend and watching planes gas up, take off and land. The new place feels like two restaurants. The "Flight Deck" area is all about the planes. The "bar" area is all about the sports. (The menu is the same). We've only been there a couple times, but we have loved everything we've ordered and the desserts are amazing. Like everywhere these days, the prices are steep. I specifically fell for the advertised on Instagram Lobster at sunset Saturday night - made a reservation for 4. Had never been there and thought it would be nice to try something new. When we arrived, I was told I had not reserved for the lobsters when we arrived (which I had spoke to the manager and I had ) and then when we went to order we were told only one lobster tail left. I had to order something else. My husband got the lobster roll - not real Maine lobster on a hot dog bun. The lobster tail my friend got was not good. Our waitress was not good , not attentive, not sympathetic and no where to be found most of the time. We had to ask multiple times for silverware, water and when we asked for bread we were told they were out. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to this night and how disappointed we were. Please improve your service -the atmosphere was great, the band was great, the sunset was amazing. But get your act together! Was expecting fresh vegetables as advertised farm to table and my side dish was not fresh it was sautéed spinach and mushrooms. No manager came to make good on the mixup. It's okay. The atmosphere is good, the service was great, my mocktail was delicious. I had the haddock with maple-glazed carrots and home fries. There was no maple glaze on the carrots. They were still good but there was a lot of butter on that plate and everything was good but not great. My husband got the chicken Marsala. The sauce had no Marsala in it at all, and was more like a thick brown butter sauce. It was too heavy to eat very much. I'd consider going back and trying something else, but 2 entrees and 2 mocktails for $100 is steep for food that isn't excellent. read more

Drinks were delish and our server was so sweet. I probably wouldn't come back for brunch though, maybe not even at all. This was our first time dining here. We got the strawberry crepes to start. One thing I love about crepes is they are so thin, but these were much thicker than my partner and I would have liked. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. My eggs were overcooked and not the slightest bit runny. They were kind enough to bring me two new ones after I had said no worries though. My partner got 2 eggs over easy, his were overcooked too. We additionally both ordered a side of corned beef hash because we were so excited to hear they made it in house. Was incredibly disappointing. It was a bowl of seasoned potatoes with some carrot shavings, and what looked like a few shavings of pastrami on it. No exaggeration, was truly all potatoes (like home fry style) with practically no meat throughout. They only comped us for one of the two corned beef sides we ordered but offered to box one up for us, to which we declined. Our server was incredibly apologetic to which I told her no need to be. She was a sweetheart. The food was just disappointing and for a bill that came to over $90 for brunch (with 2 drinks and a small plate to share), I just don't know that I would make an effort to come back. They took our drink orders, but waited what seemed like forever, to take our food orders. Then we waited some more. Our wait person walked past us multiple times without ever once acknowledging us or explaining the delay. Finally, around 2 pm, I asked when we could expect our food. She said she'd check. She came back out and said they were working one one last item in our order. 15 minutes later we finally got our food - soup, salads and breakfast egg dishes. Nothing extraordinary. The food was okay, not great. The wait person finally apologized for the delay and said they were short staffed, presumably in the kitchen and got backed up. She comped us 2 meals, which was considerate, but at the end of the day, the wait time was excessive. The place was very noisy and the air conditioning was turned up to freezing. We have been here twice now. We sit at the bar. The bartender Antoine makes the most fantastic drinks, but especially a bloody Mary that is the best I've ever had. On our last visit, we had the eggs Benedict. Mine was mushroom Florentine and my husband got the crab. Both were delicious, served hot and beautifully presented. Staff hs always friendly. I like that they cook with their own herbs and vegetables that they grow on the premises. The only star taken off is because service can be a little clunky. We waited a little too long for our drinks last time and it was a pretty slow day. Will definitely be going back though. I have confidence that they are striving to do well. read more
