From the very first contact with Nichole, she expressed nothing but positivity and flexibility, and we knew we had made the correct choice to go with her. We didn't book weeks/months in advance, and she didn't have any online availability. I took a chance and reached out to her, letting her know the dates we'd be in town if she by chance had a cancellation, because we loved her portfolio. We were absolutely ecstatic when she was able to squeeze us in for a golden hour session. We ended up having a snafu on our end (vacation brain) with the appointment and despite squeezing us in already, she worked around our blunder. And she did so without admonishing us or making the session feel rushed. She was incredibly patient with our daughter, made her feel at ease, and she exuded nothing but confidence in her photography abilities. The timeline on our online gallery was as promised and the photos turned out wonderful. We had a hard time narrowing the selections down to the package size we ordered, which was a good problem to have. In fact, we had such a hard time that in the middle of downloading our last few photos, on the last day the gallery link was active, we fell victim to a time zone mishap. It was midnight in South Haven but only 11 in St. Louis. We thought we had another hour, but alas the gallery link "expired" before we could finish. I emailed Nichole right away and by the following morning, the link was reactivated and we were able to finish the download. So, please - if you take nothing else from this review, use Gulotta Imagery for your photography needs, you WILL NOT be disappointed (extra points for being better clients than we were though). We had already ordered lighting from Chris and the only reason we didn't reserve Mod's photo booth in the beginning is because it was out of our budget (however, it was the one we really wanted to begin with). Mod is professional, fun, amazing, and has the BEST photo booth and lighting equipment around. It was absolutely worth spending the extra money, as the photo booth made our wedding unforgettable! The lighting made the ballroom (Shadowland) SO romantic and beautiful. My wife and I, as a same-sex couple, did not expect to have such great service (especially in West Michigan) but Mod along with all of our other vendors, was extremely accepting and amazing. Seriously, hire them for your wedding or other event- you will NOT regret it!! Also, I can't believe they didn't already have a page on Yelp but I am happy to be the first to review them!

I was a little apprehensive at first after hearing that it is both a salon and hotel, and reading some of the negative reviews about the condition of the rooms. I can only speak to our stay and our room which were both very nice. The room is contemporary, huge, and with well appointed furniture and fixtures. The place looks to have been updated sometime in the recent past, and was impeccably cleaned. I cannot think of a more central location to stay either. Walk out the suite's door and you are a minute away from shopping and dining options. The only downside, and it may be a big deal for late risers, is that suite 7 has a skylight located directly over the bed and does not have a means for closing it. I threw a T-shirt over my eyes and was fine, and my wife was up before it could even bother her. If this is a big issue than you may want to shop their other suites, which also look nice from the online pictures. We will stay at this hotel again in our next visit to Saugatuck.
