Finally, the house was ready. I had some professional pictures taken, put an ad on Zillow, and waited. Of course, we got a lot of interest from realtors, who claimed they were checking out the house for their clients, and OBTW, they had to tell me all the unique things their company does. Then, the coronavirus pandemic exploded, and my wife was frantic that I should come home so we could be together. I was ready to call one of the realtors that had visited, but our HOA board secretary reminded me of CJ Wright (of Lisa Duke Realty). She said CJ did a lot of business on our island, knew the unique flavor of the community, and had in fact helped me with a project when I was on the board. So I called her first. She came by late in the day, and we walked around, she asked a lot of questions, and took lots of notes. She mentioned she knew of a couple that wanted a home on the island; I felt so comfortable, we agreed she could send me listing agreement electronically. I gave her a key, and drove out the next morning (Tuesday). We texted a bit on Wednesday, and by the time I got home in San Antonio, I had the agreement in my inbox. She also told me the couple was going to see the house Friday. Saturday we had a conditional offer, and by Monday, we had agreed on a price. Tuesday we electronically signed the contract. And she still hadn't put the house on the MLS. She put it on the MLS just in case things don't work out, but she assures me the couple loved my house (I understand; it's a beautiful house, in a wonderful community, on an island surrounded by the Nassau River and its marshes). What else can I say? I was impressed she didn't come by to offer her services. Yet when I asked, she was ready to work with me. So far, everything is fantastic! I hope the rest of the process is as fast and painless as CJ has made it for me. Right now, I think that if you want to live on or near Eagle Bend Island, CJ is your salesperson, and Lisa Duke is your company.

Coming from California to Florida was a difficult task in and of itself, and buying a home in a market that is "hot" from 3,000 miles away would have been impossible without Tara. We took nearly 2 years to make this happen, and we bought our home without ever physically seeing it in person. By the grace of God, we came across an you tube video entitled TOP 10 REASONS I LOVE NOCATEE by Tara Belanger. We could not help but agree with Tara that those are the top reasons anyone needs to live a happy, vigorous life, surrounded with positive energy. Also impressed with Tara's friendliness and calm demeanor, we decided to ask if she was willing to help us find our dream home. Since we had very specific wishes, it was a long and arduous road to achieve our goal; however, without a shadow of a doubt with Tara by our side it was much easier and less stressful. Living full time in Pennsylvania and trying to find what we wanted in Nocatee was challenging, to put it mildly. It felt as if for 565 days Tara lived for us, always available and willing to do whatever it took to assist with whatever we asked of her. There were too many instances to name, when Tara thought of things we would have forgotten or didn't even know existed. So many places she went to check things for us, too many texts, emails and calls she pleasantly answered in all hours of the day.
