The food is pretty good. Our kids love the meatballs and sauce. Being from New York I am picky about pizza and this doesn't taste as good as a fresh NY pizza but it is yummy for a southern version. I had to give 4 stars instead of 5 because the staff are often curt and unfriendly... on cell phones and acting annoyed by customers. And the food, while mostly really good, is not consistent so some of the cooks don't make things quite as yummy as others. Overall we like them and eat there pretty often. read more

Been here a few times in the past - however first time to this new location. Honestly I preferred the older location - the new location is a little difficult to find unless you are familiar with the area. However there are some awesome benefits - such as the outside seating area. Perfect for a beautiful autumn evening. Was seated right away and also took drink order and food order. Ate some bread while waiting for the main course. Nothing to brag about it was just plain bread and some oil dipping sauce. The bread was cold and not toasted and no seasoning. Was a little awkward. It was good - just nothing to brag about. Had a decent side salad prior to the main course. It was pretty good! I ordered the baked ziti - it was perfect however a little disappointed in the small size. My guest had the chicken alfredo and said it was delicious, very creamy and had plenty of chicken. The waitress was very good to keep on top of our drinks and to make sure all was well. Overall very good experience. Dropped one star because of the bread - Was expecting a little more "wow". read more

Picked up a large carry out last night, and this pizza was excellent in so many ways. The toppings were exceedingly generous and tasted great, especially the Italian sausage and minced garlic. The sauce was good as well. There was one problem: the crust. The outer edge was very hard and very tough but the inner part was a little wet and limp. That said, the taste was great. The place is very busy and the interior is positively charming. I generally use 4 stars as my threshold for whether or not I would eagerly go back to an establishment. And the sin committed on the crust unfortunately makes me very hesitant to return. As such, I can only award 3 stars. I really wish the crust had been better and my experience would have matched more closely with some other reviews. read more

I thought the pizza was pretty good. We got the thick square pizza and for two people it was huge. we took home over half of it. The service was fine and wait time was normal 20-25minutes. I remember their first location... AMAZING SQUARES‼ Even the water was tasty. Tonight was still one of many visits to their newest location & tonight was a great disappointment. Simple pie, half pepperoni half cheese. The cheese was so thick i took half of it off and still too much. Went for lunch. Great food, great service, very nice, laid back atmosphere. We had a small calzone and a small Stromboli and both were very tasty and cooked perfectly. Do not patron this restaurant. Since they have moved to their new location, the service has gone down hill and the management completely supports the behavior of their bad wait staff. Hardly any sauce and just enough cheese to cover the lack of sauce. Had to salt and pepper the slices just to get a taste. The small garden salad was this place's only saviour. And ITS A GARDEN SALAD! Out the door in ten bucks with tip. Ten bucks for nothing other than a fill for my stomach. I noticed the Help Wanted sign in the window. I've never dined in at Franchesco's, and I usually get takeout. I am not a big fan of pizza but I loooooove their pasta!! I usually get seafood, and they give you a lot of 'em!! Me and my husband usually share one. Service is 'okay' at the cashier and they never messed up my order. I still go back whenever I crave pasta. read more

Not a great experience. We ordered Calamari to start, NOT FRESH at all. Our waitress Ashley never apologized or asked if she could bring us another appetizer, she just said "ok" and walked away. The bread came and it was literally stale. Ashley then said "I'll bring you more bread" I promply declined. Why would I want more stale bread? We both ordered Chicken Parmesan and it was tasty and a nice sized portion. We asked for the manager after we paid as we wanted to let him know of our bad experience and the cashier said that there was no manager there. read more

Their pizza is my favorite and it is cheap! Their marinara sauce is some of the best I've ever had, including homemade. They do offer free bread with all pasta dishes, just not with pizza or sandwiches. I love this place, and I eat here all the time. I recommend the manicotti, the aglio e olio (add feta), the calzones (which being vegetarian I get made with black olives instead of ham) and the caprese pizza. Used to be my favorite Italian restaurant in Winston. Last time there I ordered the Chicken parmigiana and was sadly disappointed. They used to make their own breaded and fried chicken; nice, flovorful, crispy breading. They have changed to a portion control chicken pattie that is without flovor and with a pressed, shredded texture. I don't know if I''l be back. read more

My father had to get up and go get my mothers drink refilled because the waitress would not return to the table to take care of her responsibilities.
