The park is shaded which is great Bc it is a metal: Plastic park and in the sun it could cause some serious burns. The swings are not covered so we stayed away for fear of a burn. There is a splash pad with a few different things to play with and a nice walking path throughout the park. There is a fenced in baseball field and one that has no fence. A basket ball court with hops no nets. 3-4 covered pavilions no bbq grills on site. Overall very nice clean park with a very friendly vibe

I think Memorial Park is one of the nicest parks in El Paso. It's always been one of my favorites…read more I'm surprised I haven't written a review about it! It has a lot of lush green grass and trees, especially during the warmer months. Since El Paso is located in the desert, we don't have too much of that. It's kind of far from my house so I don't come to it that often. If I lived closer, I would definitely walk around and relax. There's also a swimming pool and library. I've never been to either one. Before Covid, I brought my son to a festival at Memorial Park. There was a lot of vendors and children's activities. My son enjoyed it. Memorial Park is also close to the rose garden (another favorite of mine!). This is a nice park to have a gathering with friends and family. One of my friends had a memorial for her son here. She brought food and drinks, along with a singer and butterflies to release. She held the memorial one year after her son passed away. It was a beautiful tribute for him. Memorial Park is also a nice place to take photos since it's so green pretty much all year long. People/photographers come here to take wedding, quinceanera and graduation photos. Small park, clean and cozy…read more I'd driven by this park several times, but this time, while Noah was at practice, I took some time to walk some laps under the sun. I found this park to be clean, not entirely too busy, and with amenities for a lot of folks. As I walked I noticed there was a playground, a tennis court, and a softball/baseball field. I walked around the perimeter of the main lawn, and I though it wasn't noticeable at first, a Union Pacific train passed by during on of my laps. I was focused on the walk, the green lawns, and the trees on the inside. What was really cool to see was that it sits alongside a hill so that you can see the lower valley and into Ciudad Juarez - it's a pretty sight to see. I saw folks using the tennis courts. I saw folks doing yoga on the lawn. And, I joined several others walking themselves or their dogs around the park. In the morning there are runners getting after it. There are porta potties on opposite ends. Glad I stopped by, you would enjoy it too.

I still venture to this park quite often, even on days without my nephew because it is also a heavily Pokémon Go populated park! This is a really charming neighborhood park that you'd never know existed. Even though it's not very large, it has at least five distinctly different areas within it, that will each feel like home depending on who you are and why you came to the park. You could come here to walk, to sit, to read, to play, to have a date. It also has more shade than most parks of its size, as well as multiple benches and tables. Downside: no restrooms or portables, and no public restrooms or businesses within a short distance. Charm and design - that's why you should visit Madeline Park.

Every once in awhile I took my son to run around and buy an ice cream from one of the many ice cream trucks that park in the area. I've even had picnics with friends and family here. This is a pretty nice park to host a family reunion or party. It isn't as nice as Memorial Park or others but it's alright. There's lots of grass, baseball fields and a nearby recreation center (named after Gary Del Palacio, an El Paso businessman and community activist who was murdered in 2005). There's also walking trails and tennis courts here. Whenever we're in monsoon season (during the summer months usually), this park floods a lot. I've seen and heard a lot of tadpoles here. A huge pond forms all over the park. As gross as it may sound, I think people actually get into the pond/water. I would advise against it. There might be dog poop, who knows what else can be in the water? Overall, a pretty good park. Check it out at least once or twice. Pack a picnic lunch, chairs, blanket and visit. Don't bring beer or wine! Sorry!

Soccer area (rubber small field with two goals), open field (for anything you want to do- including kite flying, running, sports), paved trail for little ones to ride bikes (just short of a half a mile), basketball court, two play areas (one for really little guys and one for bigger kids), dog bags- this park has it all except for bathrooms- however there was a public library on the corner that was open and the restrooms were on the right as soon as you entered the doors! Don't let the sketchy neighborhood fool you- this park is awesome- not a lot of shade though- bring your sunscreen!

The park is well maintained by the city and the community. For more low-key enjoyment, grab your favorite read from the newly renovated library across the street, pick a bench and enjoy the sunshine. Mornings are peaceful, the evenings and weekends can be crowded as the park has great lighting to enjoy amenities late into the evening.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to Yelp this little oasis. I literally walk here between 3 and 10 times a week. It's almost a perfect quarter mile walk from my house... And it offers doggy clean up bags. So it's the perfect place to walk to as a bathroom break on my dog walking trips. During the week it's used as a practice area for young-kid-aged sporting events. I've seen soccer and softball/baseball practices as well as quite a few birthday celebrations. It's just a good quiet place to have an undisturbed event of almost any type.
