so ... Goodies has had some interesting reviews, all over the place. I actually can see why that might be the case because we customers require hand holding. Jerry has been working with us on a couple of items that were needed on the manufactured home we live in. Originally they were contracted to replace the concrete leading up to our home, replace the patio, build in needed steps and install a patio cover with fans and a front door. They quickly started the demolition of the existing concrete and old patio cover, and had all of the wood and most of the broken up concrete pulled offsite when more heavy rains began, so I understand the delay in returning to the job. During the meantime, we sprung a couple of heavy duty leaks inside our place and they were pretty prompt on tarping the place and upon prompting, following up to re-tarp until the leaks were stopped. When the rain ceased, they came over to work more on the place, and unfortunately the county/city chose that day to remove some trees and fully blocked access to the lot, so they had to leave. Seeing that they take many contracts on, the crew went to work on another job, at this time, it was in limbo when they would be back. Our job did not get started until a full week later. At that point, they began to work very quickly and efficiently, and the remaining rubble was removed from the site, patio and sidewalk poured and work on the roof was started, required inspections done and roof and patio roof and fans as well as front door installed. They wanted 1/2 payment up front and the balance upon completion, and that worked out well. I am also pleased to have worked with Jerry at Goodies, but caution them to keep a more open line of communication. What was hard to deal with is not knowing exactly when the rest of the work was to be done, and phone calls take a long time to be returned. Most customers will understand weather interruptions, site access interruptions and need to "shuffle" jobs in order to meet the requirements of the crews and other customers. Again, just keep the communications flowing. It is now a beautiful job, and I am glad we did it. read more

Kain Campos of Goodie and Sons came to our mobile home to give an estimate on installing an earthquake tie down system. We also enquired about earthquake bracing. Kain gave an excellent presentation, with photos, of the many homes that the company worked on after the Napa earthquake. After looking under the house, he informed us that the previous owner had already installed solid tie downs as well as sufficient bracing - and we needed nothing ! Dave from Quality Mobile Home Services had previously given us an estimate of $22,500 to do the work !! Yes, you read that right. Needless to say we were extremely grateful to Kain Campos for his honest assessment as well as his expertise, kindness and ability to explain clearly and take time answering questions. His company offers earthquake tie downs for a flat fee of $2,500 for mobile homes. Sounds like an excellent deal ! read more

Wow - what a rip off - I wanted a window replaced in a door so I good get cross ventilation. They provided a bid of $1,690. to replace the door. A contractor put a new window in the existing door for $207.00 read more

Posting on behalf of my Aunt who just received work from this company: If you are in need of home repairs and need to hire a contractor.............whatever you do, AVOID hiring Goodie & Sons. I had a small amount of work that needed to be done to my home. When they were first consulted, they gave a time and date that they could come to my home and give me an estimate. The day and time came, they didn't show. I attempted to reach them 3-4x to find out what happened. They called back, finally. Appologized for not being to my home on time. Said they'd be here in 2 hours. I told them that that would not work for me. They gave me another date, a week later...they again did not show. Again I attempted to reach them with no avail. When I finally got ahold of them, I was told that they could not keep the appointment, yet again. When they finally were able to keep to their word and show up at the time they were supposed to, we set a date for work to begin. The day came for work to begin and that it would take just 3 days to complete and that they would begin work at 10am and finish by 4pm...they didn't show up. They said that a "government job" was more pressing than the work I needed done and that they could come out in 7-9 days. Argh.....finally they show up and keep their agreement. The first day they get to my house at 11:30, working til 2:30 and "work" for a mere 3 hours...and call it a day. I see when I get home from work that some of my plants have been smashed...my hard work and simple beauty of life destroyed. The second day they work for a mere 3 hours, arriving yet again at 11:30 and leaving by 2:30 ...more plant life gone. The third day 4 hours of work....my living room left 3/4 of the way complete. This morning they arive, day 4 and the guy asks me if he is here too early? Uhm dude you were supposed to be here at 9am, its 9:30..each day you've been late. I did not say that to him but was thinking it because I just wanted them to finish and get out. So he proceed's to tell me that they'll try to finish the work today. I said to him "No, you will finish the work today". Here it is 3pm and they are nearly finished.....after smashing MORE of my baby trees, plants and garden. They broke 2 of my stepping stones. Just my advice to avoid them....I am NOT pleased with this company. It's 3:20 and the guy complains to me about the time it is going to take him to get home and that he doesn't work on Sunday's but that he'll be back tomorrow (Sunday) to finish the job! A job that should only have taken 2 days but was agreed for 3 days is now going into it's fifth day....WTH? read more

I've had Goodie and Sons install two styrofoam-insulated Aluminum ("aluma-foam") metal roofs on my property in the Delta. One 12 years ago and another, different one just today. I have have had zero problems with the 12 year old roof. The "aluma-foam" roof is very long lasting and does an outstanding job insulating against both heat and cold. The roof they installed today was done neatly, quickly, and professionally by a courteous crew. I've also had them level this house many years ago...that went very well, too. I am quite pleased with the work they have done for me. And their price was right, too. read more

Had a new awning put up by Goodie & Sons in Nov. 2012. Noticed leaks after first rain and contacted Gerry right away 12/10/12. He said some one would be out ASAP. I had called numerous times after that because I never heard from them. Finally after leaving a message letting them know I would be contacting the BBB and call Kurtis News some one came out 1/14/13. The service guy told me they were done and said he hosed it down and there were no more leaks. WRONG, I spotted a couple and that the gutter was still leaking in the middle of it. I told him you could see it wasn't level and he said it was but he would check again. "It wasn't level." They had to undo and cut two of the standards shorter in order for the water to run down the gutter. Well it rained again 1/24/13 and more leaks, over our back door and other areas. I called again 1/25/13 and spoke with Gerry, he said he'd get right on it. No one has shown yet.....Called again 2/13/13, Gerry tells me he thought some one had taken care of it. He would check into it and get back with me. It is 2/17/13 and nothing. THIS BY FAR THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVERY HAD FROM A COMPANY. I AM SURPRISED THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. I will be contacting the BBB and other organizations in regards to the failing service. read more

They are terrible about returning messages on my growing roof leak so they get a D- in customer service only because he did return my 1st message 3 days later, but none since! He left me a message on that 3rd day to text him my address and he would take a look at it. He never bothered to return a single text or message after that. I doubt he even looked at it the day he said to text the address. Why even send out flyers and return one call if you are just going to blow off the rest. If you are super busy then communicate that to prospects, don't mess with their schedule or head that you can take on the job and then ignore them forever after 1st. I would be greatly suspect of giving any money upfront since they seem terrible with their scheduling or communication. Honestly, How long does it take to return a quick text? read more

Because of all this fun rain we have been having we ended up with some leaks in our bathroom ceiling and 1 of our bedroom windows. We called Goodie and Sons and my husband spoke with Jerry and he had one of his guys out here within a couple of hours and he resealed around the vents and along all the seams. Now time will tell but I am very pleased how quick they responded to our call. read more

I needed an extension for my awning and a post to replace my bent one. Called Goodie and Sons so they can take a look and give me a quote. Talked to Brandon and he is very professional, straight forward, not forcing you or boast around for their services. He first took measurements for the area that I needed an awning. It was 10x12, since it was just an extension. The best thing about it was they also took care of the permit for Housing Dept and included it on the quote. It took about 5weeks, which I don't mind and is written in the contract anyways, that it will take 4-6 weeks. He gave me a call for them to install the next day. His guys came right on time and did an awesome, outstanding job! They did a very neat and sturdy work! Really worth it! Left me with completed paperworks including signed permit and floorplan. We had this company come out to install awnings for our elderly father in January of this year. There is a section over the garage that leaked immediately so we called to have the section repaired. It is now May and after several phone calls we are still waiting for someone to come out and fix this leak. When I called today Mr. Goodie was incredibly rude on the phone, not letting me finish a sentence, saying that all the phone calls won't get them out there any faster and that they are very busy, plus it's not raining right now anyway. He also let me know that he was "up on a roof right now sweating his ass off." I asked for a date that they will be out and he said he was not going to give me a date or time just that they would be out this week....which is what he said last week and last month. To be fair, the awnings look nice and seem to be of good quality, but the customer service, and the owner himself, are VERY sub-standard. This leads us to believe that this company takes advantage of the elderly and prefer get jobs rather than correct jobs competed and keep the customer happy. We will not utilize this company or refer them again. read more

This is by far the worst company you would ever want to do any work you might need. My job with them started in Feb 2018 to do some work on my elder parents mobile home. As of today the 21st of March it is still not done. I had agreement with the project Manager that the work be done by the first week in March do to my Father, age 95 was about to pass and we wanted him to pass at home with is family and be peacefully and not in construction hell. After lie after lie that someone would be their and the work would be done, it wasn't. He passed on March 5 a day before is 96 birthday and not home as he should have. After my last conversation with the owner Jerry, it was clear is lack of concern or compassion was both sad and disrespectful. The project Manager for is company that I was dealing with was either fired or quit and his words to me were I'm not responsible for what he did or said he would do because he no longer works for us. Nice words and your lack of responsibly for your employees as agents for your company, makes your company worthless and unprofessional. After further reviews I have read about your company, it seems to a common practice to string people along and not finish work or do correctly. Please avoid this company for your own peace of mine. They also took advantage of my 85 year old mother in the time of her husbands death, which her concern should have been with him and not the stress of your company's worth ethic. read more
