In the weekends they have live music. People are jumping and singing along like there is no tomorrow. This is a nice bar to let loose and forget about the little stuff. No special clothing rules either. Just come as you are. Everyone is laid back. And sometimes you can see people act really funny when they're drunk. You see the most crazy stuff out here. The music selection in itself is not really spectacular. It's middle of the road music and lots of top 40 music, new and old (mostly old) Every favorite song by the likes of Nirvana, Bob Marley, Pearl Jam, Michael Jackson, etc is song and performed by a live band that knows how to generate energy. The people behind the bar are real fun too. Some of them walk around to serve your drinks. If you and your friends are in a silly mood, they love to play along. There is this one kid everyone hits on and he likes it. I wonder on how many mobile photo's he has appeared. It one fun mad house. Don't mind the wood chips on the floor. Part of the unique atmosphere. I heard it makes it easier to soak op and clean spilled alcohol after closing time, hhmmmm.....smart though. You'll see every kind of people from all walks of life. Rugged sports men, girly girls, party animals, shy flowers who where dragged along by their friend and the plain weird but super fun people. Sports lovers can watch football and rugby on big screens and have greasy food and beer to go with it. Paddy's is the bar that everyone knows and eventually ends up.

Filled with trendy wood, metal, candles and chalkboards this bar is very cool. There are a variety of tables and high tops which are hard to come by. Every time I have visited it seems to be full, but there are plenty of tables outside if it's warm enough (especially since they have heaters!). Prices aren't bad for the nice location Bokaal offers. A large Heineken will set you back about 5 euros, which is a good price for being located in the heart of Rotterdam. Beyond just the drinks, they have a decent selection of food which all looked nice, but I didn't get the chance to try. About ten beers on tap that all come in their own branded glass which is a nice touch so you can tell what people are drinking. Also a selection of liquor and bottled beverages to choose from.

But once inside the place is so INclusive. Which is great. No wannabees, nothing pretentious, just passionate and friendly people in the kitchen and at the bar. The guests are not snobs at all, which you might expect from the way they present themselves on the website. Why then not cut this crap and just present the place as the trendy inclusive place you have to visit in Rotterdam? Probably because it is pretty hard to find and before you have this word going around you need something extra. The club is situated on the 8th floor of the Groothandelsgebouw. You have to enter into the main hall, past the night receptionist and then into the inner garden where you'll find the entrance totally unexpected. After a welcome from the doorman and leaving your coat at the hostess you are summoned to take the goods elevated to the 8th floor where you enter the place through the kitchen. We grabbed seats at the bar to better survey our surroundings. The place looked to be full of locals, so we knew we were in good hands. It's kind of a small place, with maybe 10 tables, but the mirrored wall makes it look much bigger. We had eaten a little earlier in the day, but still had a touch of the munchies, so we ordered a charcuterie board and lobster bitterballen, along with a beer for him and a coke for me. There were several kinds of meat on the board, from salami to prosciutto. All were delicious, and all seemed to melt in your mouth. The lobster bitterballen were even better than the waygu beef bitterballen we had earlier! We found this place after turning down the wrong street on our way back to the train station, and what a happy discovery it was; I've got it bookmarked, just in case I'm ever back in Rotterdam! 32/2019

I explained to him that these are not sweatpants, they are normal trousers but just have a stripe on the side. I told him I had gone to school like this and it is impossible to work out in such trousers. I even told him he can feel the trousers if he wishes. After all this he still said I need to leave. I was appalled, shocked and disgusted. I have never experienced a bar like this in Rotterdam that kicks people out based on clothing, even though mine was normal attire. There are plenty of other nicer bars who will not kick you out so unexpectedly and just have nicer staff members who will listen to you and accept that they might have been wrong.
