I'll tell you why…read more Years ago during a visit, I wandered the grounds of Bronner's after dark, wanting to check out the gorgeous Christmas lights in their element. After roaming around for a bit, I thought I heard...music? It was a beautiful choral rendition of "Silent Night" seemingly coming out of nowhere. I followed the sound, and it eventually led me to the pathway that flows to the Silent Night chapel. Along the pathway, signs boast the history of the song, and I'll give you a taste of it: the song was written in Austria by a young priest named Joseph Mohr. He approached composer Franz Xavier Gruber, a schoolmaster and organist, to come up with a guitar melody for the song for Christmas Eve mass (the church organ wasn't working). The carol has since been translated into over 140 languages. This chapel is a replica of the original chapel in Oberndorf, where the song was first performed. Wally Bronner had visited the original chapel there and was inspired to construct a replica on the grounds of the family's World's Largest Christmas Store. The chapel itself is really beautiful; it's small but cozy, and it can really bring you back in time to when the song was first composed and performed. There's a ton of informational readings to take in here. Truly a beautiful gem.

Limited seating inside small chapel, but appreciated a chance to rest and soak in ambience and reverent creation. Beautifully done with some local documentation. Nice chance to center oneself.

My husband and I moved to Midland MI from Austin TX about 8 months ago and were looking for a…read morechurch home. We tried a few churches but we had family who attended CCC so we wanted to try it out as well. We were overwhelmed with the welcome we received from the congregation and the pastors. We were concerned that because it is a larger church, running about 1000 members, that we would get lost in the crowd, but it wasn't the case at all. We actually had someone recognize our son from their children's church when we were in the mall and come over and talk with us, eventually inviting us to their small group (where we still attend today!). We were hesitant to make it our church home since we had only tried a few other churches but there really was no mistaking the welcome and how much people cared about us right away. Now that we've been there for a while, I can say from experience that their children's church is spectacular, I have a 3 year old, 2 year old and 5 month old and they are all super excited to go to church every Sunday and Wednesday nights as well as LOVE going to our small group of young families on Friday evenings. The pastors are very caring and we've gotten to know so many people who are just gems. I can't say enough good about CCC, we've attended many different churches in our life and this is one of the best that we've ever attended. Very highly recommend it!
