We ordered the Amigos Enchiladas - 1 beef, 1 chicken, rice and beans. Perfect amount of food for one. This dish was ~$8. Boyfriend ordered the chicken tortilla soup and a taco salad. I'm first time to come out to Frankie's. I'm pretty sure we found our Date Night place. We sat a one of He small bar tables. We ordered margaritas. Two of the best I've ever had lol yes I had two. Order the Brisket topped potato enchiladas with a green sauce on the bottom. Delicious. My husband had the TexMex combo plate it was delicious as well. Then we had the Tres leche cake. Yum! Delicious food! Great service even when busy! Frozen Margaritas are great too! - took my mom here for Mother's Day and she loved it! I had been to the Richardson location and the Sachse location boasts the same menu. White queso is so good... made with real cheese! Beans are savory! Enchiladas so delicious- all varieties. My husband got the brisket enchiladas and let me have a bite... very good, and never had a fusion or anything like it. Will be back!! Salsa, queso and chips absolutely delicious! The food may have been great but it was cold when it got to the table. All 5 dishes at our table were cold. If you wait a while food should be hot. Over the years, I've heard very positive things about this restaurant/location. We went in tonight and were disappointed. The place was dark and dingy. It was like a place you'd stumble into while on vacation when there was not another restaurant around for miles. The $9 street corn was clearly a can of corn with white cheese on top. No crema or red powder pepper. The lime was old and dried. The tortilla soup had the consistency of and tasted like chili. The flour tortillas were clearly store-bought and dried. They totally took away from the flavorful beef fajitas. Sidenote: when I told the waitress that the cook forgot to put in crema, she said she could bring more sour cream. I told her not sour creme, but crema. She said that they were the same (that's a hard no). I asked for it tp be remade. She said that she would bring me a container of sour cream. I insisted no. I asked her for the dish to be remade. She said she'd have to ask the manager. The waitress ended up bringing me the exact same dish ~ canned corn with grated queso blanco. No crema. What an incredibly disappointing meal and interaction. Sadly, we do not recommend this establishment. 2nd sidenote: The parking lot was packed! What in the world? Clearly, these Sachse/Wylie people have never had real Mexican food. read more

We used to go to Frankie's almost every week and we loved brisket anything. When COVID hit, we had to stop going since I'm high risk. We went back last month and were saddened to see how much the quality of the food has gone down. I am happy they survived, but by now, you'd expect the quality to be close to what it was before. I was hopeful with Frankie's as I haven't been in there in a few years and I had read very recent reviews with high star ratings, however my experience was quite disappointing. We ordered some of the highly recommend dishes including queso, combo fajitas, and brisket tacos. Everything was BLAND! Queso had absolutely no flavor, and was a thick mess, although the menu states it includes "Jalapeño cheese with spinach". The fajitas were tasteless and cut into huge chunks, impossible to place into a tortilla. The beef was grey in color, the chicken seemed to be have some sort of seasoning sprinkled on it, but overall lacked any typed of marinating. The fajitas were served on a huge pile of undercooked onions and green bell peppers that were still crunchy, no thank you!!! Lastly, the brisket tacos were dry and tasteless. Overall, just a terrible experience- not sure what's prompting the great reviews?!!? This was a waste of money. read more

It was a "Mexican" restaurant yet North Dallas prepares its Mexican food using Tex-Mex flavor which is not the same. The parking lot is cramped so if you have SUV find corner slots so you don't get love taps. You enter and get taken to your seat. Our server arrived and he was polite and nice. He took our drink orders and brought us chips and salsa. Since it was the first meal, family ordered breakfast. We ordered scrambled eggs and bacon. I ordered steak and eggs. The chips and salsa were good, or maybe we were hungry, but meal arrived. The family said it was plain eggs and bacon. The steak was seasoned but in a culinary way and the mashed potatoes were also seasoned beyond the scope of a Mexican breakfast. For $60, I won't return. We eat Frankie's basically once a week. This is our favorite place in Wylie period. I've had literally everything on the menu. Their margaritas are the best in town and the bartenders and wait staff always treat us like family. The expansion they've done makes it much easier to get a table and we usually go early enough to not have to wait. It can get busy. read more

Normally we go to Rio Lerma but we found out that Frankies and Rio Lerma are related, and frankies is much closer. I will say that the only downside is that in comparison to Rio Lerma, Frankie portions are smaller with their meat. They do not generously heap it like the forney location. Taste wise, they are amazing! I highly suggest brisket enchiladas, queso, nachos, and Jessie's special. Update: they raised their prices recently by a dramatic amount. We were rather shocked by how pricey it got, especially when you can drive to forney and get the same meals from Rio Lerma... but cheaper. Something to keep in mind. read more

This is gourmet Mexican food. The best salsa I've ever had, flavor and consistency were perfect, not too spicy, but very flavorful. They seem to specialize in enchiladas. The brisket enchiladas were like nothing I've ever experienced, with a red sauce mixed with a creamy avocado sauce, unexpected and delicious. I also tried the chicken and cheese enchiladas, which were just as impressive. The service was also impressive... Mexican hospitality with a celebratory flare at its best. The server didn't know what a Cadillac Margarita was, but the bar tender did. It was fabulous!
