The ever dreaded crown replacement happened today. I arrived nervous, shaking and sweating in fear.. we all know that feeling, right?! Then enters Brooke, calm and relaxed. Her friendly nature helps put you at ease. Next arrived Dr. Thompson calm as always! The first needle didn't numb the area (as it never has for me). Brooke and Dr. Thompson were very patient and understanding about my fear of not being numb. Next enters the second needle. An odd request... I want to see the needle. Dr. Thompson is extremely accommodating and I end up with a mirror and get to watch!! All nervousness and fear is now gone!! The last super cool thing was getting to watch the crown be made! No coming back.. one day all done! The way the ladies accommodated my requests and talked me off the ledge was outstanding! Not to mention the pre-appointment calls with Crystal helping to make me more comfortable. Without her and those calls I would not have made it in. 5 stars to Dr. Thompson and her team!!! Thank you for your patience and understanding today! And for replacing the crown that's bothered me for 5 years now. read more

was a new patient to Franklin Family Dentistry, I called on a Thursday due to a broken tooth. They wanted to get me I that SAME day but due to a work obligation I scheduled for the next day. I was extremely impressed with ALL of the employee's and the dedication to patients. I saw Dr. Haley and she was absolutely amazing with her kind and compassionate care. I also have to say I was extremely impressed with Whitney and I believe Sunday? They were sure I was comfortable and was aware of what my cost was before doing anything. I will be returning in a few weeks for my semi annual cleaning and am actually happy to go to a dentist for the first time in forever!! I've been coming here for over 18 years and they're amazing. Both of my girls have been coming here since they've needed dental care, starting at age 3. They're wonderful, patient, and AMAZINGLY compassionate. 12 years ago I had to have a crown put on and they put a temporary on, which was only supposed to be on for three days. In the midst of that, I had to go to Kansas for my Grandpa's funeral and then, while there, my father died and I had to stay another week to plan and attend his funeral. I had to have the permanent crown put on when I returned and cried all the way through the procedure. They were so kind and patient. They sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. On a Thursday night I had sudden jaw pain that I knew was from my teeth. I called Friday at 7am and they were able to get me in by 11am. I had a very bad experience with a dentist in my past which made me always dreading going, but I was recommend this office and they did a great job. I had to have two wisdom teeth removed and not being a fan of pain, they did what they could to make it as least painful as possible. Numb the gums before the needle, numb the jaw and I barely felt anything when they extracted the teeth. It's been over 48 hours and I really haven't had that much pain that a few ibuprofen hasn't solved. Seriously, my headache from working on my computer over the weekend was more painful than my jaw after the teeth. I'll be recommending them to anyone else that needs a dentist. read more

Woke up with a banging tooth ache. Had not had one in several years. I called at 0700 Good Friday Morning and was in the chair at 730, xray showed rather large infection. Received anti biotics and pain medication scripts. Stephanie the dental assistant took care of just about everything except the examination by the Dr. The referred me to an Endodontics Dr. The dentist that gave me root canal and gold crown only drilled the root half way down. Sooooo Now I need to get redrilled. I was in a considerable amount of pain so I really appreciated the kind care and fast care they gave me. I was out in less than 30 min. Cant beat that!!!! The entire staff was very helpful and kind to me. Best dentist we have had. read more

I have been going to Franklin Family Dentistry since my first dental appointment. I'm now 32. Stephanie Moore is a phenomenal dental hygienist and Dr. Shattuck is by far the best dentist we have ever had. Both are very thorough, explain all procedures clearly, and are great with kids. My kids love going to see them! The office staff is always incredibly helpful and courteous. Dr. Shattuck has even called on a weekend to check on my son when he knocked his front tooth loose, and made sure to get us in first thing in the morning that Monday to check his tooth. I highly highly recommend this dentist office, and especially Dr. Shattuck and Stephanie Moore! read more

This was my first time to visit this dentist office and was VERY pleased!!! Ive been going to the same place for 20+ years and decided I needed a change so was referred to Franklin Family Dentistry by family and was so happy I made the change!!! Had been to my previous dentist 6 months ago and when went to Franklin Family I had 5 cavities and need a crown that they said "Didn't happen overbite". So very happy to change, who know what my teeth would have ended up like!!! Sad that my old dentist had missed this, but glad they found it!!!! I've been using this establishment for over 30 years. Different dentists(Drs. Jeanine, Westbrook and now Shattact(sp) ) over the time, but always professional, helpful, upfront about what "really" needs to be done and priced appropriately fair. Steph Moore, the hygienist, has been amazing in educating my family and me on the efforts (flossing, brushing, etc.) necessary for good oral health throughout the decades. Different ages requres unique approaches and Steph, Drs have always offered excellent advice/suggestions. Office is always polite and helpful. Well done......as usual. read more

I have been a patient at Franklin Family Dentistry for so long that I can't list the year but it was in the 1980's. Even when I moved away from the Franklin area after I graduated college, I never went to another dentist office. I would fly back to Indiana twice a year for my regular preventative appointments. Prior to being a patient here, I did have bad experiences and I know that the Franklin Family Dentistry staff always has the patients best interest in mind. I love the Franklin Family Dentistry office and all of the ladies that work in there! I started going to this office for Six Months Smiles braces and I am now 9 days away from removing them! I started out with 1 monthly visit and as things started to move quickly I began making appointments every couple of weeks or even weekly if small adjustments were necessary. I drive from Bloomington (1 hour away) for each appointment, but it has been worth it! I've been coming to this dentist office almost my whole life and they are the best! Are the ladies are super sweet! I have never had any issues with them. I recently went in to have my retainer fixed and it had been originally installed by my orthodontist but they had no problem fixing it! Joyce is one of the hygienists I've been seeing and she always remembers me and asks me how school is going. The office can be a little chilly sometimes but I don't usually have a problem plus they offer blankets to use if you need one! read more

Dr Hippenmyer is excellent dentist! She got the root canal done and crown made and installed in ONE visit! She and all the staff are just awesome! I don't get numb well but the doc is patient with this old patient! When I could feel it she stopped and we numbed more and she did a block! Again can't say how much I appreciate care and concern!
