I brought my van here after I git sick of the rude and arrogant people in the service department of my local dealer. Instead of naming them, I'll leave it at that, and people can decide if it sounds like their dealership. :-/ Anyway, I brought it in for its 30K mile service, and the people in the service department were very nice, and were good about letting me know about the progress. I thought the service was expensive, and had to tell them to do nothing beyond what was called for in the service guide. All that meant was that I skipped the $100 fuel injection cleaning service. I think using Chevron Techron in the tank is more than adequate. But I guess all the dealers are approaching $100/hour service rate, if they're not over it already. I miss my local mechanic in Dunstable, (See my other review, of "West Auto Repair") This place was $89/hour, so it's probably typical today. Maybe I'm just too cheap. :-) read more

Worst Car Buying Experience EVER!!! Only go here if you would like to be sold a car by the quintessential slimy car salesman. Went here to look at a used car with my daughter. The salesman and manager were so insulting. Told us we were unintelligent. They were arrogant and lacked any sort of professionalism. We had to use wet wipes to get their slime off our hands on the way home. DON'T GO HERE! Even if you don't buy a car from them, you will be stuck getting their emails for months to come even if they tell you they don't use email address for ad campaigns. It started on a Monday. A new sound and a little hesitation when I pulled out onto a main street. I had hoped to make it to the Fall before replacing my beloved Escape, but it had 147,000 miles on it and most of those were start and stop, bumper to bumper commuting. That afternoon it died on my way home, leaving me on the side of the road in Brockton (yikes!). AAA got me going again, but it was time. I had dealt with Franklin Ford for service while living in Foxboro, so that's where I started when it was time to buy. I was doing a 180 degree turn from my V6 4X4, and needed something better on gas for that long commute. Checking out their lot (and my dwindling bank account) I decided on a used Focus. There were several on the lot, and after a couple of test drives I chose a recent trade-in (had to be recent, as there was a faint scent of cigarettes) and went inside to talk $$. They knew I was a 'motivated' buyer, but didn't take advantage of that. None of the usual, 'Well, I'll have to talk to the manager' BS. No pressure for a 20 yr/200,000 warranty. I progressed smoothly from the salesman (Steve) to the finance guy (whose name I forget), and they gave me a more-than-fair amount for my trade-in (considering it was on its last legs). We agreed that they would treat the car to get rid of the cigarette smell, and I'd be back Thursday after work to pick it up. Well, my Escape must have been jealous, because it decided to throw a monkey-wrench into the process. The next day it threw a tantrum, complete with new sounds and a couple of shudders. I called the dealership and was told that if it died before I got there it would affect the trade-in. They said I could move it up a day and pick it up that evening, but the treatment for the scent would have to be done at a later date. I nursed my Escape there, and said my goodbyes. Epilogue: I've now had the Blue Bomber (don't judge me!) for almost a month. I'm averaging almost 32 mpg in suburbs/jammed highways driving. It smells nice and fresh after the treatment, plus they swapped the mats gratis. It took a little getting used to after the height and feel of the Escape, but this car is a lot of fun to drive. Literally the dirtiest dealer around. I talked to one sales manager, Daniel Jordan, for three full days about a vehicle I was interested in purchasing. After giving me a hard time about the price, and negotiating back and forth, I told him I was ready to purchase the vehicle. I drove 45 minutes to the dealer only to find out the vehicle had "just sold". The oldest sales trick in the book. Wish I could give this place less than one star. Horrible service. I had purchased a Ford van from Franklin Ford dealership at the end of December 2015. I was offered a $1,000 incentive/rebate one I ad-wrap the vehicle. I have sent all the paperwork (invoice, contractor license) back on Feb 15th via email to George, Sales and Leasing consultant. Since then, I have a reached out several times, to include June 8th, June 16th, again no reply. Most recently, on July 12, 2016, I had sent an email to Bob, GM and Gorge again, requesting action be taken as 8 months late, I still have not received the incentive check. !!!!!!!!!; nor have I even received a courtesy call back or email reply. This service is unacceptable, and the fact I have not received refund I was offered is a clear violation of contract. I have copies of all emails and correspondence which I can provide. Our 2019 Ford stopped running properly. We got an appointment at Franklin ford. It supposedly took them over a week to diagnose the issue. We were told they had to order a part. We have an extended warranty and were told they would work with us to make sure it was covered. They had our car for over TWO MONTHS- 69 days- to be exact. We called multiple times per week. Most of the time nobody in service answered. We called probably 30-40 times and left countless messages and NEVER got a call back even when we were promised a call back. They NEVER offered us a loaner. We got the car back 69 days later and the warranty company won't cover all of the hours Franklin Ford claims to have taken to diagnose the issue. We are stuck with a $900 bill. This company has the WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. The service department does not know what they are doing and could CARE LESS about their customers. They never even apologized! They are a shady company and just want to overcharge their customers. I will tell everyone I meet to stay away from Franklin Ford and I will never buy a Ford again. Purchased a used truck here. The truck was still filthy inside with the previous owners possessions inside and a hole in the floor mat which they covered with an oil change paper. Installed "new tires which have leaked air since the moment I drove the truck off the lot. Finance manager was down right rude even with a 770 credit score. I was told they dealt with 30 creditors none of which were local or offered competitive rates. You can get your own financing at a much better rate with local bank. Buyer beware. read more

I did my research and went to Franklin Ford on June 30th. I worked with Dave as my salesman. I picked out a 2019 Ford F150 Lariat. I went for a test drive with Dave and everything worked out well. I knew the difficult part of the process was ahead of me. When we got back to the office we tried to work out the numbers. As usual the numbers were too high to start. The offer for my trade was low. The usual process of the Sales Manager getting involved came to be. Ian and I haggled a bit over the final cost and finally reached an agreement. He shook my hand and we had a deal. At least I thought I had a deal. The handshake meant nothing as it turned out. What happened next should be eye opening for everyone. He said he was going to get a credit application. I told him I did not need a credit application. I had the money to pay for this used truck. I did not need a loan. I did not want to pay interest for a loan I did not need. Why would I borrow something that I already was fortunate enough to have ??? At this point I was told I needed to finance the Truck. My money was now not accepted. This was a first for me and it was totally unacceptable. We had an agreement and a handshake. That apparently means nothing with Franklin Ford. The deal was now off because the Sales Manager insisted that I MUST finance the Truck. Ive worked all my life and I now have found that my money is not accepted at this dealership. I will add that Dave was an excellent Salesman. We talked Red Sox and Yankees. We are both 63 years old and had similar interests. He was easy to talk to on the test drive and he definitely was not aggressive in the sales process. I would not recommend this place to anyone. What happened to me today was ridiculous. If I have money to pay for something , I should be allowed to pay for it anywhere. Just one additional comment : I called two other dealerships and visited another. I presented the scenario to each Ford Dealership and they all told me that this was Bullshit. I know I will go to another Ford Dealership and pay for my new Truck with my own Money. I brought my Ford to my local mechanic who diagnosed my car with a bad water pump, which unfortunately is common in my style Ford. He told me that because my vehicle's milage that the water pump would be covered under Ford's power train factory warranty and he had reached out to Franklin Ford who said that they could do the job. I called them and was able to get it into the shop two days later. They said because it is a time consuming job that it would probably be in for about three days, which is fine considering the job was covered. They called me shortly after dropping it off saying it was in fact the water pump and was covered and they were working on it but let me know that I should get an oil change since working on the engine may disrupt the normal goings with my current oil. So I said sure no problem there. The next day they called me letting me know my car was ready (a day earlier than expected). And my only charge would be the oil change which was the same as what my mechanic typically charges me. Picked up my car with no issues and no expenses besides the oil change. Was very happy with Dave's honest communication and the fast work done at Franklin Ford. No issues to report after picking up my car. Very professional and very courteous and made the process very simple. Would definitely recommend Franklin Ford for any Ford owner in the area experiencing any issue with their car covered under Ford's warranty. Fast, communicative and reliable! read more

We just bought a $25,000 used Ford F150 from them and the rear defroster doesn't work. They refuse to cover or contribute to the $1000 it will cost to repair this even though I'm a repeat customer. This is more about the service department. Driving home one day, I watched my temp gauge peg and then drop to zero. I got out, hood was ice cold to the touch. Assumed the sensor went bad, so I brought it in to get it replaced, just as a precaution. The next day, my dad picked up the car for me and they charged him about 500 bucks for replacing the coolant pump and fishing parts of the impeller out of the line. This was obviously BS, but he paid it. The next day, I got in the car and pulled out of the driveway to hear a horrific metal on metal sound from the engine compartment. I opened it up and saw that the timing belt pulley was rubbing against the engine case. It was obviously the wrong part. I brought it to another mechanic who confirmed that it was wrong and replaced it. Still have no idea why they replaced the old one, other than the obvious. I have heard other horror stories about the things they do to the cars in the service bay, like revving the engine and dumping the clutch. Just stay away. read more

Took my F150 in for a factory recall for fuel tank straps. In the process of replacing straps, the technician crushed the top of the fuel tank. Service department tried to 1) tell me it was the fuel lines and not the tank ($450), then when i went in for that repair they said 2) no, it really was the fuel tank after all which was going to be an additional $1,600. The service department refuses to admit their error. I would recommend you NEVER take an automobile there for service; this experience confirms my contempt for dealer service. Find a good local independent mechanic. I recommend Kevin's Service on Alpine Row, I have been going there for 10 years and recommend him to all friends and family. read more

After having my vehicle serviced at Franklin Ford for the past two years (which has included 3 regular oil changes and 1 warrantee covered repair); I can honestly say that this repair department is great. They've always been professional and courteous when I schedule my appointments. Since I always wait while my vehicle is serviced, they make it a priority to get me out of there in the shortest amount of time possible- which I also greatly appreciate. I haven't had issues with the repair to my pickup they completed- which is something I've experienced with other repair shops and other vehicles. Furthermore, they don't recommend services or repairs that I know are not necessary. They're straightforward and they respect my time (what more can you ask for?). The waiting area has a complimentary coffee station, a television, and acceptable seating. A vending machine with numerous snack items is also present. I do not plan on changing mechanics anytime soon as a result of their superior service, which is definitely worth the extra cost of a dealer-based vehicle maintenance shop. read more

Paid $4500, after receiving a $1500 quote, and the problem wasn't fixed. Ended up replacing a sensor that they claimed wouldn't come out ( they wanted to replace exhaust for ANOTHER $4500) to get my vehicle back on the road. Two major fails and $4500 down the drain...highly recommend you do not bring your vehicle here for service. Now that the car has been picked up, I thought I'd give a brief summary of the last 3 days of my life. The car that was being repaired is old and my husband puts a lot of miles on it. It's a commuter vehicle and it breaks down a lot. It was towed in on Wednesday to get an alternator replaced. $665.95 after a 15% discount (there's a coupon on their website, I'm not under the illusion that they did anything great here). That includes the diagnostic and the charge to clean some connections that they said were corroded. The corner mechanic quoted $450, but wouldn't have it done until Friday, so we went with Ford because they said they could have it done Thursday (haha). No loaner was offered and when we asked for one after finding out they would have the car for an extra day, all 6 were out. Shocking. The car was supposed to be finished on Thursday afternoon, but it wasn't done until Friday morning. The reason? Apparently Ford Parts packaged the wrong alternator in the box. See? It's not Franklin Ford's fault. Their parts driver isn't supposed to check that the part in the box is the right one and nobody physically looks at it until it's in the hand of the mechanic at 2:30 in the afternoon. They couldn't get the right part and install it in the 5 1/2 hours they had remaining until closing. Only the service adviser that wrote up your repair order can tell you anything about what's going on with your car. He's harder to get a hold of than the Pope, so be prepared. When I spoke with Frank regarding my displeasure with the entire experience, he kept mentioning that they see 30 to 35 cars a day. I'm not sure what I was supposed to get from that. Frank - you read the Yelp reviews. You now have my blessing to hire the appropriate number of service writers and technicians to handle the work flow. Is that what I was supposed to say? The reason they get 1 star from me is really simple: They took as long as the corner garage would have to complete the job, but charged $200 more for it. They didn't have a loaner car available, so my husband had to miss work and communication is pretty much non-existent. When I expressed my displeasure I was met with a number of excuses. Why pay the premium price for sub-par service? We had really been thinking about purchasing a new Ford for my husband to commute with since we're making car payments in the form of repair bills anyway, but after this experience I won't let him buy a Ford. Franklin Ford is our nearest dealer and I don't want to go there again for repairs or service. Sure there are other Ford dealers within 20 to 30 minutes (thanks Frank for pointing that out - sure made me feel like you cared about what a negative experience I had.), but I'm looking for some place local. I got the impression Frank was trying to tell me to not let the door hit me where the good Lord split me, to which I say no problem - I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere. read more

Worst customer experience of my entire life. I was so upset it's taken me two months to get to the point where I'm calm enough when I think about the experience to write the review. I leased a car from Franklin Ford two years ago. Since I was going back and forth from Franklin to Las Vegas every few months, I didn't think buying a car was the best option for me so I thought I would try a lease. The leasing experience was ok, although there was a flim-flammy feel to the sales job we received. We went ahead and did the deal. I drove the car around when I was in town without any problems. The horrendous experience came when I returned the car to Franklin Ford. About three months before the lease was up, I began to receive emails from Ford Motor Company alerting me that the lease was almost up. In every email I received, there was a reminder that I should call the dealership where I leased the car to make arrangements to return it. We were planning to leave town about a month before the lease was up, so I was returning the car early. About three weeks before our planned departure, I called the dealership. The man I spoke to told me that it was too early to make the appointment and that I should call back in another couple of weeks. About ten days later I called again. I spoke to a man who made an appointment for me to return the car at 10am on a Friday. When we arrived at the scheduled time, no one was aware that we had an appointment. There was no one there who seemed to know anything about the process of returning a leased vehicle. It took them about ten minutes to even locate any record of me or the car in their computer system. When we asked them what the problem was, they answered our question with a question, "who did you speak to". I did not know and said I thought it was someone in sales. I did not write down his name because it never occurred to me that would be necessary. During this time we spoke to two people, a salesman and someone named Mike who said he was a manager. They both informed us repeatedly that whatever the problem was, it was "not their fault". They informed my husband and myself that the person who handles lease returns would not be at the dealership until noon, and could we come back then. We were not happy but did not have any choice, so we left to do some errands in preparation for our trip back to Vegas. We returned at noon. At this point, the finance manager Mark Goldberg had returned and he told us he would be checking in our vehicle. We waited another fifteen minutes. He ran a printout of the excess mileage on the car and I wrote a check for the excess mileage. He then informed us that there was no one here to inspect the vehicle, so if I was leaving it it would be with the understanding that there might be extra charges once it was inspected by a third party. I asked when this would be accomplished. He said I was supposed to call this third party myself and set up the inspection. I told him it was my understanding that he was supposed to do that, and that I had called to set up this appointment three weeks ago as I was instructed to do by the numerous emails I received from Ford Motor Company. He stated that he and the dealership were not part of Ford Motor Company. There is a big sign behind the desk he was sitting at that said Ford Motor Company, and they sell Fords, so you can understand my confusion. He refused to call the third party inspector for me, and refused to give us the number. He said I would have to call Ford Motor Company. Since we were leaving town in two days, I had no choice but to leave the car with them, uninspected. I took thirty different pictures of the pristine interior and exterior of the car to prove it was in perfect condition when I left it on their lot. I did not trust them but I had no choice but to leave it. I called the Ford Motor Company from the road. They did give me the number, but said that this was highly unusual as the dealership was supposed to make those arrangements. I called the third party inspector. They were extremely confused as they had never received a call directly from a customer before. They didn't seem to know what to do or how to handle the situation until my husband got on the phone and accused them of sexism for not listening to me. The third party inspector then did call the dealership, set up the inspection of the car and called us back and said it would be taken care of. I would not give this place even one star, but that is not an option. Never, never again. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

Went to look at a used 2014 Ford Escape with salesman Tony, and things went well until until we were referred to Sales Manager Shaun, and that's, when experience turned bad. He us one of the most condescending, rude people I have ever met. His estimate on value on our trade was $1500 less than a written letter of value from Imperial, and $1700 less than NADA. As much as I wanted the car, I was being Low-balled and insulted on my trade value. The "one Star was for Tony's courtesy only. If you want "high powered salesmanship" coming at you from all directions telling how right they are, and how wrong you are, then this is the place for. Could not be happier with the knowledgable sales and management staff, and when I signed all of my papers I was happy with my interest rate which was half of what I was paying on my previous vehicle. I lost a little on my trade but that is due to the purchase I made previously at another local dealership. I received a great price and rebates on my new Explorer at Franklin Ford. I contacted Sergey through their website, he responded right away and I brought my vehicle in to see what we could do for a trade in for a brand new 2017 ford explorer. We talked, test drove, he showed me all of the features the 2017 has....and even showed me some that my 2016 trade had that I didn't even know about! There was no pressure, Steve & Sergey gave me some numbers and I went home to think about my options and what I really wanted. The next day I went back, it took maybe 45 minutes to complete my paperwork for the trade and new sale, price I wanted, better interest rate and the delivery of the car was nice, it was so perfect and clean and full tank of gas. I returned a few days later to pick up my registration and get my sticker.....funny the last place charged me for the sticker and only registered my car for the last month that was left on the original registration. My brand new 2017 ford explorer is now in my driveway, with a registration till 2019 and the inspection sticker - no extra charges and a pleasant experience. I spend a lot of time in my car, I use it for work and I need to love driving my car....now I do and I feel good about the purchase experience I had with Franklin Ford! I look forward to bringing my new car in to Franklin Ford for oil changes or routine maintenance and feeling comfortable in a nice dealership with kind and friendly people and a comfortable waiting room. The experience here was fair at best. After the purchase many issues came up and were of major inconvenience. The first being issues involving rebates, while this issue was more on Ford side directly the dealer offered little support. I wasn't really concerned about the rebeate in the end but more so the dealer not standing by their customers and supporting them. Even the support line for Ford said my chances would have a better outcome if the delaer called on my behalf. The next issue was in the paperwork, they gave me a lower mileage on paperwork than car actually had in it. The other big issue was the detail job they gave me after purchasing. The first detail was more of an express wash at best. There was still dirt in areas that were very noticeable. The most concerning part was a razor blade was also left on the car, luckily I noticed it. I would have hate to have seen the car been sold to a young family and a small child find the blade. The dealer did offer a complimentary redetail after issues were presented to them but was a major inconvenience having to waste gas and a day off to get it done. Even after the second detail there was still dirts in noticeable areas. Overall this was a much worse experience from my previous purchase at a different Ford delaer a few years ago. This dealer seems like more just after the sale and numbers. The only reason I gave them 2 instead of 1 stars is they at least acknowledged these issues when they were brought to their attention. Though they offered little support aside from the redetail. Based off this experience I unfortunately will not be returning customer to this dealer. read more

Self admittedly, I'm one of the hardest customers to deal with when buying a new vehicle. I don't appreciate haggling or trying to keep you at the dealership in order to break you down. I let my Sales Rep Rich Breen know what I was looking for and other quotes I received. He met all my demands, let me leave without any hassle, and to return at a date convenient for the two of us. I received a more than fair offer for my new Focus and trade-in. I've already recommended him to two friends. I went there to purchase a 2012 Ford Explorer Limited, the price was good and competitive in my region and I was specifically looking for a good trade value for my old SUV. I spoke with Nick D. from Sales via email for a couple of days exchanging vehicle details, etc. Finally over the weekend I stopped by to check out the Explorer. With no pressure and a good test drive, I was ready to make the deal - of course I was already offered the trade in value for my old car, little negotiating and I am already off at a good start - thanks to the GM, Brian C; great guy. I found some slight cosmetic issues, and the dealer agreed to replace them, scratched plastic, etc. I said I will come back the next day to sign off the deal since I wanted to discuss the numbers with my wife. They never once asked me for a deposit or pressured to purchase the same day - as it was getting late. Next day I show up and they had marked the vehicle as sold and it was reserved for me. I signed off on all papers and picked up the car in 2 days while all the cleaning, detailing, etc. was done. I was also amazed that my sales guy Nick D. sat with me for 20 mins while delivering the vehicle and went over all the options, features, etc. of the car. I've brought my Explorer back to the dealer Service department for some warranty work - and not once was let down or left unhappy. Service adviser Edward M. has always been on top of everything and exceeded my expectations. I recommend them and will always take my vehicle back to them for any work or routine maintenance. I have to say I'm disappointed in the service center. My young son is living there for the year for hockey. My husband called after his check engine light and they said bring it right away. Of course your main concern as a parent is to make sure your son has a working car. He took it over there. They ran a test For $150. Sounds like it was the evaporator valve or charcoal canister. However they couldn't tell, so they said they'd have to run another test. This would cost an additional $150. We were willing to pay it but wait they couldn't fix it today after they told us they could. He missed practice, I know it's hockey, but it's important for his college path right now. To fix either part it would cost $300 or $600 depending on the repair. My husband knows his way around an engine, and everywhere I read said average cost is $150. So that's 4x the average. Yikes. He's a young kid living in a different state and I think they really took advantage of him. Needless to say, we are searching elsewhere. read more

Looking for a specific trim level of Ford Taurus and found it here. Only problem was, I was in Washington DC, about a 7+ hr drive. I saw the pictures, and emailed Dan Jordan a few times for specifics. Once I called,it was a quick, fair price we settled on.He explained the out of state registration process to me, and we scheduled a pick up date.Once I got there, it was pretty easy going thru the paperwork, and getting on the road back home. Great experience today. Purchased a new Ford Explorer. Our salesman Ron was very professional. No pressure at all to purchase. Called earlier for an internet price, below invoice, our trade in value was about what we expected. Test drove the Explorer Limited, my wife liked the car. Ron was very professional, answering all our questions and explaining all the options on the vehicle. Skeptical at first where we had previously bought vehicles at another Ford dealership. Unfortunately that dealership did not have the vehicle that we were interested in. Doc fee here was less, reg fees less as well. Financing rate was less as well. Full tank of gas, sticker, and a oil change special deal for as long as we own the vehicle. Small dealership that prides itself in customer satisfaction. Smooth transaction.
