We booked this place strictly because we added a few more traveling in our group. Indeed it is…read moreclose to the airport and only about 3.5 miles to "downtown" where all the fun and shopping is in Frankton. The views (minus a few power lines) are incredible - not only water but mountain views too. This "apartment" has 4 nicely appointed bedrooms... very clean (looks like pretty new construction) and what made it "great" was the owners Josef & Moto. The spa downstairs was nice to schedule massages and they were pretty flexible on the times. The kitchen had nice smaller sized refrigerator and freezer. There is also a good assortment of utensils, silverware, plates, cups etc. The sofas provided nice sitting area and there were extra patio type chairs we added for extra seating. I know this sounds silly but AMAZING water pressure (like maybe be careful so water from the sink doesn't splash everywhere!). Decent bath & hand towels (no washcloths). Robes in all the bedroom closets. Also for each bed had electric blankets (were on and toasty!) as well as individual room heaters. There was a washer available (No dryer but dryer rack to hang clothes) & they had soap (We did purchase some & donate) available. The only negative (and it wasn't too big of a negative for us) was they didn't include breakfast for groups or during winter which we didn't realize. Nicely, there are a few decks of cards, scratch paper for score keeping, books to read and TONS of brochures & travel books for the area. Nice! We would definitely come back to this place again!

I absolutely loved my stay at The Farm Wanaka!…read more Tabatha and Jamie were absolutely darling! They personally welcomed and greeted us and gave us restaurant recommendations! The bed was very comfortable and there was a space heater just in case it got too cold. The room was adorable and comfortable! Bed was large and the room has a large window! There is a TV and fridge stocked with free yummy food, beer, and breakfast for the next day: yogurt, ham, cheese, milk, butter! The adorable tea service has a hot water heater, dry food, fruit, tea/coffee, milo! They also provide tons of activities and lawn games! The bathroom has a shower and a vintage cistern for the toilet! It's a little finicky but they provide instructions which makes it easy! There are lovely outdoor seating areas and picnic tables! You can see the rolling hills and the flocks of sheep! Tabatha also has two pet sheep and four pet cows! She provides you pellets so you can feed and pet them! They're incredibly friendly! Just watch out for the bull's horns! They're large! And watch out for the one electric wire! I zapped myself! But it was more funny than painful hahaha. Just one small issue popped up, which was that the WiFi was unreliable but it was wonderful and relaxing to be disconnected! Tabatha and Jamie were very kind and offered us late check-out! So darling! Absolutely love this bed and breakfast! We will definitely be back!

Excellent!! The host…read morewas pleasant and obviously hard-working, hearty breakfast to start the day, rooms were in excellent condition and tastefully decorated. This B&B is quaint, charming, has fabulous views, peaceful and tranquil, we wish we would have stayed more than just one night. Close to Wanaka downtown, don't hesitate to stay here, for us it was outstanding!!

To anyone that is even considering Maple Lodge Wanaka as a wedding venue, think again! I would hate…read morefor someone to have to go through what this place put us through. There are so many other venues that would allow someone's wedding day to be all that they dreamed of, and Maple Lodge defiantly is not one of these venues! We used Maple lodge as our wedding venue, we loved the look of the venue and it was just what we had wanted for our wedding, however after having secured the venue by paying our deposit to Paul and Bernie everything nice about Maple Lodge changed. They continued to make promises they would not keep and deny that things were even discussed. From changing the time of our wedding a week before the wedding, not allowing our guests to arrive until only 15minutes before the wedding ceremony, too not even allowing our 14 guest's (who were staying in the lodge) to get into their rooms until after the wedding ceremony, with no negotiation of the guests to even be able to have one room before the wedding to get ready in (all these guests had travelled to be in Wanaka for our wedding). We were even given a voucher for a free case of bubbly wine when we booked the venue however they also denied any knowledge of this and were reluctant to provide what they had offered, luckily I had kept the voucher! On the wedding weekend, Paul and Bernie spent all of the day's wandering/storming/eagle eyeing (in shorts and sandals) our guest's and taking photos of everything and everyone without permission. Sadly, they ended up being in all of our professional photos! They continued to storm around during the wedding telling guests what they could and could not do and even asked my father (father of the bride) and MC to leave the venue on the day of the wedding because they didn't like their attitude! This was because the MC had asked if the only one toilet for all 120 guests could be cleaned. We paid around $1,000 extra to have a marquee set up for the wedding weekend, however during the BBQ the day after the wedding this marque was pulled down in front of everyone meaning that during a hot Wanaka day no one was able to enjoy what we had paid for! Before the wedding day the continuous changes were too stressful for me to deal with, there was no negotiation with Paul or Bernie and they continued to change everything to suit themselves with no consideration of us or our guests, it got to the point that I asked someone else to deal with them as it was just to much and all I wanted was our wedding day to be perfect. There were so many more things that happened however I think the above is enough to give you a clear picture.

This place was amazing! Queenstown was completely packed so I had to expand my search to the nearby…read moreareas, and wound up being for 2 nights at LEL. Best mistake I made in my trip to NZ. Felt much more like a B&B with a dorm room or a homestay than the normal hostel feel. Kimmy and John were the nicest people and super accommodating to all requests. They really do just want this to feel like home for a few days where you can relax and enjoy nature away from a lot of the craziness of Queenstown. I took advantage of the hiking and kayaking, but they also have tennis and golf and a host of other activites. Hot tub and sauna! If you are planning to go to QT, the drive there is gorgeous (what isn't in this country?), and you can either do the backpackers thing and hitchhike or catch a ride with one of the friendly other guests who will inevitably be headed that direction. At the end of the day join the family dinner for a few bucks and enjoy recounting the day with the other guests. The dorm room (built by John himself) was very well done, shelves, power points, and lighting in each bunk and cubbies to store backpacks. The bathrooms are normal bathrooms (this is their house after all) and the living room / kitchen is as well. The other rooms look like equally great places to stay, as is Gus the Bus (I got to stay a night here and it may be my favorite location so far). With a roaring fire and sauna I can only imagine how great this will be in the winter after a day at the Remarkables skiing. TL:DR - I couldn't recommend this highly enough. Book an extra few days because once you come you won't want to leave.

It was my lucky day because for about 45min of the massage, there were 4 hands on me!, meaning two people were working on me at no extra charge!!! Wow, was it wonderful. The space is small but clean and privacy curtains make it a very personal experience. One thing to note is that is doesn't get completely dark which my interrupt your relaxation but it isn't that bad. It's hard to rate stuff if it's your 1st experience since you have no basis for comparison. This is how you spell r-e-l-i-e-f, aah... The focus of massage #1, was my aching leg. The focus on this massage was my muscle knotted back with some leg action. Special price today was $85NZD for 45 minutes reduced by $5NZD. That's about $57USD, a bargain worth every dollar in either currency. I was a walk in today but they do make reservations. Try it.
