I was delighted with the vegetable, fruit and fish sessions , the breads looked amazing. There are cheeses for all tastes and pockets. Monoprix is a pretty sweet one-stop-shop that includes a department store, pharmacy, and grocery store (and probably more--may report back). The clothes are cute, and you can even find some cozy natural fibers. I definitely recommend stopping there first if you forgot an essential garment (or the weather took an unexpected turn). This review is not about the clothes, though. The grocery store was pretty busy, as we arrived right when people are leaving work snd heading home. This location had tons of convenient items and snack items that were perfect for eating right away (OF COURSE I mean as soon as you get home or find a suitable park bench to pause at). They also had some more ingredients-type foods, along with an impressive selection of cheeses that rivals any from stateside. Good service and reasonable prices (it's Paris, so they may be higher than you are used to, but nothing to make you faint). Awesome selection.

Just so it's clear: this store closes at 19:45 on Sundays and 20:45 every other day, no 9 p.m., no guesswork. That's how it's always been, posted on google for anyone capable of reading. If your parents strolled in at the last minute and got shut down over a cucumber while staff were closing, that's not "rude" -- that's normal. People have homes to go to, they aren't paid to play customer-service therapist past closing time. Next time, verify actual hours instead of telling Yelp bedtime stories. Take care. They sell decent little sandwiches ready to eat on the spot for less than 3 euros! Sodas are just 1.5 euros as opposed to the much more rapey prices around town of 3-5 euros for a 16 oz bottle. Plus the macarons are less than 1 euro a piece here, which is about the cheapest I saw them anywhere around town. Most people I ran into could not speak much English but still were able to help me out with pantomiming and a few chosen words. lol But they were always nice and figured out a way to communicate an answer to me. Carrefour was a our go to market during our stay in Paris. It doesn't look like much but I found a…read morelot of good deals here ranging from bottled wine that I took back home, to fresh squeezed orange juice (no really, they place oranges on to the machine and it makes OJ for you instantly!) to great prices on food items. I absolutely loved that they sell a wide variety of mini sized champagne bottles starting at 2 euro. We'd pop em in the fridge and during mid- day breaks we'd sip champagne and stare out the apartment balcony before taking off into the city again. The eggs we bought to make omelettes with in the mornings were so very fresh, and everything we bought here seemed to be a good quality product. Also, if you appreciate a good, strong cup of coffee, check out a brand called "Cafe Carte Noir" it'll change your life.
