It's a bumpy ride along the sand path. It reminds me of the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland. Our first destination was The Pinnacles, also known as the colored sands. We drove along the beach to the destination. You have the option of taking a scenic flight for 80AUD to see Fraser Island from above. It's about a 15-20 minute ride. It was such a nice day, with an amazing view of the ocean. Next, we went to visit the shipwreck area. The ship remains have been there for 81 years. My favorite part of the tour was the next stop, Eli Creek. You can walk along the creek or swim or float down the clear freshwater. It was like walking through the jungle. There are many scenic areas for photographs. We had a buffet lunch before heading off again. In the afternoon, we went on a rainforest walk. Then we went to Lake McKenzie for a swim. They had two standup paddles and inflatable tubes for us to use. That was really fun. There is a clear separation in the lake between shallow and deep water so you can get in the water even if you can't swim. They had snacks and tea for us before we headed back. The tour was wonderful. We did and saw so many things in one day. I had an amazing time.

What can I say besides it's a cafe and it's in the Airport. It's a little cafe in the front of the…read moreairport that does a nice hot chocolate or coffee and there are a few snacks, cold drinks and packets of chips. The nicest thing about the cafe is the lovely lady that served us, we had a lovely chat while she got our order ready (always a nice thing when you're bored and waiting around). A nice place to have a cuppa while waiting for your flight or waiting to pick someone up. Prices were very reasonable.

They put us up in a dorm style place. It was clean from what we saw, perfect for people in there…read moremid 20s, and especially big groups of people looking for a vibey party atmosphere. One of the only hostel-esque places ive been too in two weeks in Australia that actually provides towels. That goes a long way. Would definitely go back!

We are on the 2 day Fraser Island Tour with Maxine as our tour guide for the next 2 days…read more Maxine (and presumably Sunset Safari) needs some serious cultural sensitivity if they plan to keep their Asian clientele. The majority on my tour was of Asian decent and presume most of their tours are the same. From the start, Maxine was unapologetically racist and offensive. You can blame it on her age or too much time in the sun, but she should know better as a tour guide that encounters people from all parts of the world. Cultural Sensitivity Tips for Maxine/Sunset Safari: (1) Asking people if they have an "English" name BC you are super lazy to take the time to learn your customer's name is racist and offensive. I'm pretty sure if you visit China/Korea/insert Asian country, they wouldn't ask you for your Asian name BC its more easy to say. A name is a name and you should accept it as is. (2) It's also racist and offensive to say we are "waiting for the Chinese family" when they turn out to be Korean. Maxine could have easily said we were "waiting for a family". (3) In fact, you also should NEVER call out a person's race/ethnicity at all-- even if you think you know it! Maxine seems to be in her golden years and her vision (and cultural sensitivity) may be off. You probably wouldn't do yell a white person's ethnicity out. I suggest you don't do this to Asians as well. It's offensive and racist. (4) Australian Aboriginals should not be referred to as "Savages"on the tour. Please tell Maxine and her husband that. Please note-- Maxine did all of the above within the first 10 minutes of boarding the bus and introducing herself. I hope Maxine gets a wake-up call and Sunset Safari can get their act together in terms of who they bring on board to lead tours.
