Another workmate got the Ossobucco beef after I told him what ossobucco actually was. He said that it was good. The meat melted on his fork so I can only assume that it tasted good too. Overall? We usually end up ordering margherita and hot salami plus a Nutella calzone. The Nutella calzone fresh out of the oven can burn as you just can't wait to eat it but it is so good fresh! We also had the spaghetti marinara which had some clams, mussels, prawn and scallops. Pasta was al dente and had the seafood saltiness to it. Delicious! We couldn't resist having dessert even though we were so full! We chose the Tuscan dessert special as it was something a bit different plus the Tiramisnu. Our usual pizza chef from lunch time sold it to us when we spoke to him earlier in the evening that Christian's wife had made the Tiramisu. The tiramisu was just awesome and I'd come back just for it. Looks like they had some you could take away! The Tuscan dessert had cantuccini (biscotti) and a fig/almond tart which was the tiniest slice I'd ever seen but it was very rich so tiny for a good reason! Though the scallop I had was for sure frozen (left them alone cos it didn't taste 100% fresh) and they don't use normal king prawns or tiger prawns like most places so it's quite small. But then again you can't ask for much when you're paying around $15 for a decent sized pasta. But I'd rather pay a few more bucks to get a slightly bigger pasta with more fresh seafood and other fresh ingredients like herbs. I'll visit again.

Simply put, Castel Mola's pizza is the best I have eaten--by far. The dough is scrumptious, the toppings are mouth watering and best of all, it all reeks with authenticity. The pizza chef is on display, just as proof. It is truly Leichhardt's--if not the entire Inner West's--best pizzeria. Now to the pasta. Castel Mola's pasta is of the same caliber as its pizza. Whenever I go now, I always struggle to choose weather to have the pizza or pasta--they're that good. My favourite thing about Castel Mola, however, is the fact that they do home delivery. Living in Leichhardt, there is no shortage of pizzerias to order home delivery from but this trumps them all. All in all, Castel Mola is the best pizzeria, to my knowledge, in Sydney.

The group menu was a bit of a disappointment. There was no choice. The food was OK. Looking at the food photos from four years ago there was a similarity but just it missed the mark. The bread was not cut up and we did not have the knives to break into the crust. The penne was bland. The lamb needed a sauce, mint?, to cut into the fat. The dessert was more cream than cake. For the price paid, the food was disappointing. However, the amount of food was more than sufficient and they were prepared with doggy bags and containers for us to take away the leftovers. Maybe we should have gone for the a la carte? The service was excellent. Our waiter was very good. Parking was still no problem and on hot days if you are prepared to walk a little further you can park under some trees.
