I like Mancini's for 4 reasons. It's local. La Giardino ( hold the capsicum please ) La Potata is an ultimate indulgence. Dont be on a health kick if you order it ( or be cheating on your diet, or have just run a 5km fun run if you have this one ) it is all of the best things in life. Bacon, Cheese, Potato, Spanish onion and sour cream! Lord Jesus take the wheel!! Talk about deluxe. It is just plain delicious. La Giardino is a Vegetarian option. An Option! If you are or have ever been vego ( as I was for 10 years) having actual options is an absolute treat. Eggplant, tomato ( we ask for fresh tomato to replace the capsicum) cheese and mushroom. They have a lot of options! Hurrah! I admit Ive never actually dined in at Mancini's but it is definitely the Hub of Summer Hill village. Along with Da Vinci's next door, it's a Pizza agglomeration. White linen, outdoor tables line the streets in true European style, and it is always very busy and buzzing. Highly recommend it.

If you choose to dine al fresco, they have plenty of seats with outdoor heating. However, many families dine here so be wary of a little noise if you choose to dine indoors. Their pizzas and salads are absolutely delicious. As the last reviewer before me said, La Potate is divine. The Meatlovers is also absolutely delicious and packed with meat. However, if you're watching your weight, try a Calabrese salad - the combination of gnocchi and tomato is smooth and delectable. If you want some dessert, they have plenty of gelato and cake on offer.

Anema E Core Pizzeria - A metre of pizza!

Anema E Core is a little restaurant (there is only two tables inside opposite their massive coffee machine and their indoor wood fired pizza oven, the rest of the tables are outside and with the weather being rainy they were not set up yet. We ordered the 4 Formaggi (Gorgonzola, Smoked buffalo Mozzarella, fiordilatte, Shaved Parmesan, basil, olive oil) Crudo E Rucola ( Rocket, prosciutto, shaved Parmesan, basil, olive oil) and for dessert the Nutella pizza all for takeaway. The base is ridiculously soft! I am in heaven. Nom nom nom I love this place! Staff are friendly and the chefs have a think Italian accent which adds to the authenticity of this tiny restaurant. We have booked to go again this Sunday, looking forward to trying their other pizzas and the coffee! Ciao :)

Hubby and I come here at lease once a week for lunch and tonight we tried them out for dinner. Firstly, lunch. Pizzas and Paninis are the focus. They have $5 pizza - lunch size specials which have such soft chewy dough that we just love with fresh ingredients and lots of cheesy goodness on top. We usually end up ordering margherita and hot salami plus a Nutella calzone. The Nutella calzone fresh out of the oven can burn as you just can't wait to eat it but it is so good fresh! They do have some sitting there if you can't wait but you can have them make the pizzas to order. It takes all but 5 minutes most of the time to make the lunchtime size pizzas. Haven't had the chance to try their paninis but they are reasonably priced with it priced based on how many items you want on it. Dinner- this place is pumping at night! We didn't book but came in early for dinner (6pm!). I'd suggest to book as it is so popular! They have those metre pizzas if you're interested but as we have it all the time, we thought we'd try their specials. We weren't disappointed! They don't have a standard dinner menu, it seems it's either pizzas or their specials which is how we like it. Christian seems to have his specials based on produce availability which works for us! We had full 3 course menu as we couldn't help but want all the specials. Entrees- The prawns wrapped in speck just brought out the flavoursome freshness of the prawns. It also came with some bread. The calamari and zucchini fritters were well fried. Not too oily and light. We had Tuscan pasta (Fisarmoniche pasta - had to look it up as I'd never seen it before!) with speck, Gorgonzola cheese and walnut. Sounds odd but it worked. Well balanced flavours and tasty! We also had the spaghetti marinara which had some clams, mussels, prawn and scallops. Pasta was al dente and had the seafood saltiness to it. Delicious! We couldn't resist having dessert even though we were so full! We chose the Tuscan dessert special as it was something a bit different plus the Tiramisnu. Our usual pizza chef from lunch time sold it to us when we spoke to him earlier in the evening that Christian's wife had made the Tiramisu. The tiramisu was just awesome and I'd come back just for it. Looks like they had some you could take away! The Tuscan dessert had cantuccini (biscotti) and a fig/almond tart which was the tiniest slice I'd ever seen but it was very rich so tiny for a good reason! The biscotti wasn't too hard and just right for after dinner and went well with hubby's macchiato. Definately a great place and the staff are so friendly. Always feel welcomed to come here even when the place is pumping and busy!

Aside from its somewhat inconvenient location from a walking perspective, it just looked tacky and "wannabe". When I tried it for the first time however, I was pleased to realize that I had grossly misread the unassuming pizzeria. First things first: Pizza. Simply put, Castel Mola's pizza is the best I have eaten--by far. The dough is scrumptious, the toppings are mouth watering and best of all, it all reeks with authenticity. The pizza chef is on display, just as proof. It is truly Leichhardt's--if not the entire Inner West's--best pizzeria. Now to the pasta. Castel Mola's pasta is of the same caliber as its pizza. Whenever I go now, I always struggle to choose weather to have the pizza or pasta--they're that good. My favourite thing about Castel Mola, however, is the fact that they do home delivery. Living in Leichhardt, there is no shortage of pizzerias to order home delivery from but this trumps them all. All in all, Castel Mola is the best pizzeria, to my knowledge, in Sydney.

There were only six of us and the restaurant was filled with a wedding party, 50th birthday and small tables of 2, 4 and 6. It is glass all around and no verandah so it is very noisy. We were near a woman who has no volume control and that prevented our conversations until she was eating. It was a relief when she left as the reflection off the windows was a shocker. The group menu was a bit of a disappointment. There was no choice. The food was OK. Looking at the food photos from four years ago there was a similarity but just it missed the mark. The bread was not cut up and we did not have the knives to break into the crust. The penne was bland. The lamb needed a sauce, mint?, to cut into the fat. The dessert was more cream than cake. For the price paid, the food was disappointing. However, the amount of food was more than sufficient and they were prepared with doggy bags and containers for us to take away the leftovers. Maybe we should have gone for the a la carte? The service was excellent. Our waiter was very good. Parking was still no problem and on hot days if you are prepared to walk a little further you can park under some trees.
