Desperate times desperate measures.... It one thing when a restaurant struggles in one area but multiple areas? The young ladies who answer the phone are always nice but sound miserable and you can barely hear what they are saying. The owners/management exude miserable attitudes and are quite often rude and dismissive. You would think with such horrible customer service the food would be great. I know it was Sunday evening and maybe not a big take out night but the only options for slices were pepperoni and sausage. I never like to write 1* reviews. it's usually not related to the quality of the food which is what I'm interested in. But after the rudeness I just had from them with my 8 yo son, I'm going to. Food was generic 3/5 if that's what you want. So we go in to get my kid a few slices. he's got some legos to fiddle with while he waits. The "eat in" section is clearly closed down with empty pizza boxes on all the tables but there's dozens of empty chairs too. Someone is sitting in one - only other person beside us and the employees in there. So I go to move one to where my kid is standing and the owner or manager tells me I can't, it's take out only. "Yeah, we're taking out. Just while he waits for the order". Nope - he can't sit. I look at the other guy sitting and just hold my tongue until we are done. Food finishes and he just grunts at us and pushes the box towards us. On my way out, I tell them how rude it is they wouldn't let an 8yo sit for 10 minutes while waiting for his food. they tell me "it's policy". I point out again that we are take out. then he lies "The chairs are broken. He'd fall off and you'd sue me". "All 20 chairs are broken? except for the one the other guy is sitting on? You are such a liar. We have to rate you now on Yelp." He laughs and starts arguing again that it's rude of us and it's policy blah blah... After reading other poor reviews, I now wonder if it was a race thing. We were the only ones there that were different. But who knows. Point is these are clearly not decent human beings and their generic food may not be worth your experienc. read more

We were looking for pizza close to the hotel and found Fratelli's thanks to Google. It was really good! We split a large pizza -- half meat lovers, half Fratelli's special (it had peppers and onions, I'm not sure what else). The slices were comically huge. The toppings were falling off and the cheese was ooey-gooey. It was fantastic! We were the only ones sitting in the restaurant but they did have a steady stream of people coming in to pick up pizzas as well as a lot of drivers heading out to deliver pies. They did have a server come and take our order, but she never checked on us beyond delivering the pizza and never brought out our bill. I would have preferred to have just used counter service. Best part of all is that with two sodas and a water, it only came to $20.60! The pizza was fantastic and if we were locals, we'd be regular customers for sure! read more

I went on Saturday night to get food for the fights. The place was dead and there were limited specialty slices in the window. Uh-oh I thought, not a good sign. We went bbq chicken pizza and the sauce was terrible. It was that generic, almost pink looking thin sauce that doesn't taste very good but some pizzerias get in 10 gallon buckets if they just don't care. Shame. The crust was ok, better after a toast because the sauce was so heavy everything was limp and soggy. The chicken wasn't breaded and tasted good. We got calamari and jalapeño poppers that both tasted frozen and fried. Nothing special. The hot wings were good, not breaded and fried well. The blue cheese was oddly thick and tasted weird. Meatballs were large and delicious. The cheesesteak was too much bread for not enough steak. I'd skip that. The garlic cheese bread was oily. Skip. Overall, not the best and not the worst. I remember when this location used to be Poppy's Pizzeria...like 35 years ago, and while Poppy's was pretty good (pizza from 35 years ago I can remember, but birthdays, forget it) Fratelli's is SO much better. Where you grew up in Piscataway usually determined your pizza place of choice and while this wasn't MY first choice (I was a Dominick's guy), I DID learn to appreciate it...and now when I'm home for a visit, I'll usually every few times just to get a taste. I love pizza, well let me be more specific, I love good pizza and Fratelli's fits that bill. I'm not someone who likes a lot of toppings on my pizza so I'm usually a plain slice or a sausage slice kind of guy, and I have full confidence in recommending these guys if you love pizza the way I do. I can't speak to their sandwiches or their 'special' slices, but the plain and sausage slices are delicious (and their garlic knots are excellent as well)...a little pricier than others in town I think, but delicious nonetheless. read more

Just ordered from here. After calling to ask a question about their prices (because $70 for 3 pies and mozzarella sticks seemed high) the pizza came almost raw. We could barely even pick the slice up it was so undercooked and all the toppings including the cheese just slid off. I was so upset I drove the food back (after paying the $2.00 delivery fee) and the man there said to me aren't you the one that called 4 times about the price. I love supporting local businesses, but the quality of food here does not at all justify the awful service. The restaurant is located very close to two local middle schools and happens to be across from the local library. Because of this, many teenagers and kids go to this establishment for a quick after-school bite to eat. Instead of taking advantage of this economic opportunity, the owners/managers choose to be rude and aggressive towards younger customers. I understand the stress of dealing with teenagers, but as long as they're paying for their food and being overall respectful to the property, I see no reason to have such an attitude towards them. I've seen this happen on multiple visits, but the real kicker was when my partner and I went to the restaurant on a date. We were both teenagers at the time and had ordered a pasta dish alongside some pizza and cheesy garlic bread. After finishing off the pizza, we waited over an hour and a half for the pasta arrived. It seemed like they had forgotten about our order until I went up to the counter and asked about it. Even then, the employee at the counter seemed to find it funny that we were still there. I was on the fence with my pizza order, I was going to order a large pizza but after I found out how much it would cost, I decided on a medium pizza. Before I could finalize what I wanted and was ready to order, I was rudely informed that the large pizza had already been made. I was charged for a medium, but the rude attitude from the guy making the pizzas really put me off. It's not a welcoming place anymore, all of the tables have five foot high piles of pizza boxes on them like they're prepared for a 5000 pizza order. No more Fratelli's for me. read more

I'm usually not a fan of Sicilian pies (too dry and bread-y) but this one had a ton of toppings and the dough was delicious. The calzone was also stuffed full and a great deal for the money. Attention Fratelli's: You are not only on my office's "shit list," but you are on my personal list of no-go places as well. Per my last review, the quality of your food offerings has decreased quite a bit over the past 1 1/2 years. I can now say the same thing about your pizza. While the taste is still acceptable, I have noticed that you have been cutting corners in that area as well. We ordered several pies a couple of weeks ago for a company function, and I was frankly disappointed. The pizza was only sparsely topped, with less than half of the toppings given on a single pie compared to five years ago. It was also certainly less cheesy than it was back then. As I've said with other disappointing establishments, we will not be back unless your management responds with an appropriate response to this review indicating plans for change. I will add a corollary, however: we ordered from Gianna's a couple weeks ago as well and were very satisfied with their general food offerings. It is possible that you haven't noticed the degradation in food quality, and as a former frequent patron, I would highly recommend doing a taste test of your competitors as a means of comparison. Well if you live in the Piscataway area you would probably get your pizza at fratelli's. I always just call ahead then pick it up a few minutes later. Don't get anything delivered from here. I think they only have 1 delivery person and he serves a large area. So you know by the time you get your pizza it's not gonna be warm anymore. Besides the fact that delivery system sucks everything else is good. The pizzas and garlic bread are delicious. The service is friendly enough and reliable. I've been getting my pizza from then for years and they haven't messed up an order yet. read more

Fratelli's used to be my go to spot for pizza. It used to be so good over the years, and now I'm not sure what happened! My friend and I recently came here for a plain slice of pizza each, and we both asked for our slices to be extra crispy. When they handed the slices over, there were soft, and the cheese literally slid off the slices when we grabbed them to eat. We each asked for a fresh slice in replacement. I'm only reviewing this place for their buffalo chicken pizza. Literally the best buffalo chicken pizza I've ever had. As I'm from the area, me and my friend only go here for this one pizza and it's a disappointment when they don't have slices! I have tried many buffalo chicken pizzas before but nothing has beaten Fratelli's yet. The place only gets 3 stars though because the rest of the food kind of sucks. This place is really good, always friendly people and fresh whole pizzas for delivery. Many selections on the menu and a good eating area if you want to stay inside with people to eat. Their estimated time of arrival is usually spot on so you don't have to worry about late pizza either which is always nice for hungry guests, haha. read more

Recently moved to the area and Fratelli's is the closest pizzeria to me and lucky for me their pizza is pretty great! I've really only had the plain cheese but then again I am pretty much a plain cheese kinda guy...except when it comes to bacon. I've also tried a couple of sandwiches from Fratelli's on occasion such as the chicken parm and have been impressed. I wouldn't say that they are cheap but I also wouldn't say they're expensive. They seem to be pretty average for the area. I'm happy to say that I have a good go-to pizzeria just a stone's throw away. read more

I too went to Fratelli's based on reviews. I was disappointed. I ordered the vegetable pizza. And it was a very sad vegetable pizza. The main problem was flavor. Their pizza lacked flavor. The vegetables added texture but it seemed like an afterthought--- and they were not prepared in a way to add flavor. The things that contributed to this problem were also the main things that make a pizza. The crust was bland, and so was the tomato sauce, it wasn't tomato-y enough--- not acidic means or by sweet means. Also, there just wasn't enough tomato sauce. Then the cheese. The cheese was bland too, there was a decent amount of cheese, but it was cheese that was texturely there but there was no inherent flavor. I was kind of disappointed, obviously. A perfect pizza is goopy and chewy and blasting with flavor. It was a really boring pizza. I think cafeteria pizza had more zing than that pizza. Maybe I would try a different pizza of theirs if I pass by again and see if perhaps they just had a singular case of bad vegetable pizza that day. I am probably being too blunt, but I have had much better pizzas. Both Stelton Pizza, and Pizza 'n Pasta on Williams are scores better--- even Papa John's thin crust pizza is better.
