Fred Meyer Store, Roseburg, OR - October 2, 2024 I came in on a Wednesday morning around 9:30 am. Having been on the road in our RV for the last couple of weeks, some of our supplies were getting low. I wouldn't swear to it, but I think Fred Meyer stores are only found in Oregon. We've been to a few of them over the years in places like Roseburg and a few other cities in the state. They're pretty massive stores and they don't only sell groceries. If you've never been to a Fred Meyer, you'll be surprised at what you see when you get there. They have a nice deli and produce section. In addition to groceries, they sell things like clothing, furniture, beauty supplies, jewelry, toys, electronics, sports equipment, camping gear, automotive items, hardware, tools, housewares, and more. The store that I visited in Roseberg was very clean, fully stocked, and well organized. I found everything pretty well except for an eyeglass repair kit. I asked several people that worked at the store if they had them and, if so, where I could find them. I got lots of answers like: "I work in groceries section," "I don't know," "Try clothing and apparel,""I'm only in charge of putting up signs," and, "This is the employee area, so they're not here." I finally found an employee in the tool area that told me all the checkout counters have them. Bingo! Sure enough, that's where they were! Overall, I like this store. Massive grocery and department retail store; lots of outstanding product selections and fresh food. Clean store with helpful clerks and self checkouts. Electronics, garden center, household products, personal hygiene, pet care, accessories, tools, clothing, jewelry, shoes, seasonal items, and toys and games were ultra dope. Excellent customer service and super friendly staff. Management was totally professional. Most items were extremely affordable and worth shopping. Absolutely shopping by here again eventually when I visit Roseburg, OR and Crater Lake National Park. read more

We stumbled upon Fred Meyer today and decided to see what the hub bub was about. Some items priced better than Safeway members pricing. Store clean and well stocked. FM crew friendly and was offered assistance at every turn. We will be back to explore the non perishables another day. read more

I have been using Fred Meyer while living in Oregon on and off for 15 years-and just recently more often now that I live here. The store is a superstore style. It has both groceries, pharmacy, clothing, some furniture and home decor. The quality and selection is decent. I have bought a couple pairs of Levi's, small dishes and groceries from all sections. While I don't buy everything at Fred Meyer's, it's handy having everything in one location. I definitely recommend Fred Meyers and will be back. read more

This lady Cindy is extremely rude with customers and has used a demeaning tone with me for no reason multiple times. Anytime a customer asks her for assistance including me she gets a snarky attitude and starts acting like it's a huge problem for her to do her job. everyone else who works here is extremely friendly and excited and willing to help anyone who needs it but she is a different story wish she didn't have to be so rude for no reason. read more

This review is regarding the pharmacy specifically. I used to use rite aid but switch to Fred Meyer about a year ago. The quality of service is so much better at Fred meyer. They actually looked for ways to save me money on my prescriptions. I am paying half of what I paid for the same prescriptions at rite aid. I called to refill my prescriptions yesterday and the automated system said I could pick them up on monday. Well I was in a bind because I was out of two of them. So I called Fred Meyer and the pharmacist said sure no problem they'll be ready in 2 hours. Wow that was awesome! I highly recommend Fred Meyer pharmacy. read more

I was in area I needed a chase bank and a birthday card. This is the first time in this store. They literally had everything. There was a jewelry store,pharmacy,chase bank, and groceries. One of the reasons I really like road-tripping is I get to find out about local businesses like Fred Meyer, I've only found in Oregon. This place is amazing: supermarket, department store, jewelry store. We were very fortunate to find this during our road trip so we can eat some hot food, replenish our perishable and non-perishable food supplies! read more

The lines are always too long and I know of a staff member that violates hipaa exposing peoples insurance providers to others as well as sharing medication information that others are on. Making it where I don't feel confident my information is safe to not be shared in such a small community. read more

Fred Myer has a new customer me. I shopped there for the first time last week. I had parked at the VA next door and used my elect. wheelchair to use at the VA. I needed a new elect razor so drove my wheelchair over to F M to obtain one item which could Carry on my lap. An employee obtained for me a small basket that would fit on my lap which I filled with every employee going out of their way to helping me by showing me where things were or by reaching them for me. At checkout much more help above and beyond. I could not carry the bags on my chair. They obtained a push cart filled with my order assigned a clerk to watch the basket while I returned to the VA parking lot to get my car.Returned to FM where my order to my car and unloaded in my car. Another great surprise was that the employees were allowed to say "Merry Christmas" which so many stores won't allow. I thank all again and a Merry Christmas and a great new year. read more

Today Fred Meyer's took excellent care of us. They allowed us to return a bike without a receipt, the tag, or the owners manual just because our specialty training wheels wouldn't fit on it. They did so in a friendly and kind manner, after which they turned aroudn and sold us a different bike with the same frinedly maner. Candy at the customer service desk helped us as well another woman who worked in sporting goods. They were both wonderful. read more

We normally can send money on western union with no issues but this time around it wasn't so easy. To top it off, my 70 year old mom and I were told we were suspicious and we were flagged in the system so they weren't able to process our request. At least that's what a cashier name Candy said. We took our business somewhere else and was able to finish our transaction in less than 5 mins with no questions asked. This is the most upsetting part. Candy could have helped us but for a serious lack of judgment, she didn't. My point is, it's not about what you say, it's about how you say it. This was definitely a fail in the customer service aspect and it left us feeling like we were criminals. read more

This store has by far the worst customer service that I have ever seen!!! It feels like most people that work there don't like their jobs. Having to ID everyone regardless of age for not only beer/wine purchases but for lighters as well!!! What a joke!! Very sad that Kroger bought Safeway/Albertsons. I hope Winco comes soon!!! They will be taking over the end of 2023 according to Safeway employees. Just because they remodeled their store, doesn't make them any better. They were here to help when needed and in crisis of what kind of brownie mix to get. When my favorite mix was out of stock, I thought I was going to leave the story empty handed. Little did I know, the two batman and robin worked together and made the perfect mix for my needs. I had no idea I had that possibility in from of my own eyes. The Fred Meyer location here off of Garden Valley Road is the quintessential Fred Meyer superstore. You can find almost everything you need under this one roof. Unfortunately, they did not have a maternity section at the store. As a result, I need to go to a neighboring marketplace to find the items I need. Otherwise, I have been exceptionally happy each time I've gone into the store. I have found everything I need and have had good service in terms of finding what I desire. The marketplace is located within five minutes of competitive stores. As a result, if you need to shop around or have several coupons available the location of all of this shopping right off of garden Valley Road makes completing your entire list very easy, especially if you want to go to different locations based on price differentials. Otherwise, I don't see much need to deviate from this particular store. The parking lot is always full. The store appears to be a go to location for many people in Roseburg given the fact that the parking lot is always full. I have always had an pleasant experience and the store has always been clean. Otherwise, I hope this experience transpires to anyone else interested store. My four-star rating is based on the fact that it is a classic Fred Meyer superstore that meet your expectations. To get a higher rating I am going to need to see something that truly differentiates it from the other Fred Meyer locations. However, I am very happy with the service location and availability of product at the store. read more

Talk about a store standing the tests of time. Fred Meyer is the original version of a Walmart Supercenter or Target w/grocery. Just like the aforementioned stores Fred Meyer has the same set up. Grocery, floral, bakery, deli, butcher, produce, and all the boxed/canned food you could ever need. When you move into the other side of the store you find clothing, entertainment, sporting goods, toys, home repair, home décor, etc. One of the major differences with Fred Meyer over other similar style stores, is that they carry name brands (for example Nike, Adidas, Under Armor, etc). Prices are what you would expect to pay at a sporting good store. Going in here actually brought back child hood memories, as they have always been the go to place if you need something. So glad they are still chugging along! Keep up the great work! read more

I am so upset! I ordered a cake for my niece and it was completely the wrong cake. The lady did not even apologize for it. She told me that the cake picture is not the same colors they actually use. And she only used the title and not the actual number of the cake so all of it was wrong. I told her I am not paying for it and she said that I had to go to customer service for that. That part is fine but she acted as if my nieces first birthday was not ruined with this baby shower looking cake not even close to her theme. Customer service is bad and they don't have the same colors as in book. That is called faults advertising. You can't do that and expect people to be okay with it. So nothing was done since I had to get to the party with a cake that was not even hers. read more

Cheap gas, terrible service. I just waited for ten minutes while the three guys on duty just stood there chit-chatting. I eventually got tired of waiting so I got out of my car to pump my own gas until one of them saw me, came over, and said, "Have you been helped yet?" with a tone edging on sarcasm, as if I was the one inconveniencing him by pulling him away from the conversation with his buddies. I wanted to Will Smith-slap him across the face for being so aloof, but I just said, "Nope. Not yet," as if that wasn't blatantly obvious considering I was the only car there and none of the Three Stooges had yet to make a move to help me prior to him walking over. Once my car was done filling, one of the other two "bros" promptly came over and hung up the nozzle so at least I was able to get out of there without waiting any longer than necessary. All in all not the best experience I've had, but, if Costco is closed or you don't have a membership, it's the cheapest gas you'll find right off the freeway. read more

When traveling you are at the mercy of whatever grocery store the town you are staying in has. Well where I live we do not have a Fred Meyer and I was almost overwhelmed!! First they have EVERYTHING in this store. Starbucks Chase Bank Helzburg Jewelry Store And across the street they have their own gas station with great prices. It almost reminded me of a Super Walmart store. One side is a grocery store and the other side is a department store. The meat actually was very good, produce was fresh, deli counter wasn't real big, but it had mostly everything. They had an in house bakery too. Their specials were very good too I felt like I would do my regular big grocery shopping here if I lived here. What I was also impressed with their employees they were really friendly and helpful. The checkout lines were nonexistent and that made me a happy customer. Who likes waiting in a check out line and it was a Friday evening to boot!! So I really liked this store! read more

One thing can be said about Fred Meyer: they don't do any cookie-cutter stores like Kmart did in its heyday or as is done by Walmart. In terms of an odd layout, this store is right up there with Coos Bay and the store off Q street in Springfield, although it's not as illogical as Coos Bay is. The produce section is excellent, however, the grocery seemed to between the size of Coos Bay's and Wilsonville's. It's a bit small, and the gas station is down the road a ways. read more

This is a really nice place. They do have everything. The deli is awesome and the bakery turns out some great desserts. They have a great health food section that isn't too pricey for that type of food. They have weekly sales that a person can utilize to save money and compete with other lower priced stores in the area. I've bought several pieces of furniture from the furniture department and they both held up very well. I don't care much for they electronics department (its small), but I did buy a TV which I still have and use. They have a nice book. A nice clothing department. A pretty good household supplies aisle. If a person stops in at Freddy's you really don't have to go anywhere else. read more

I have to say there's something about Fred Meyer that just tugs at the ol' heart strings; growing up in the Northwest, I can't help but have fond memories of the place. And I'm making new memories every day as I patronize Roseburg's clean, reasonably well-stocked, and politely staffed FM location. Fred Meyer has long been the thinking man's alternative to Wal-Mart, selling name-brand Nike tank tops and Underarmour camo polyester shirts instead of no-name stuff made at labor camps in the former Zaire. Anyway, I love that at Fred's Fresh Flavah you can buy anything from an XB0x to a firearm to jockey shorts, organic flaxseed, Stumptown bottles iced coffee and beyond. Did I mention Fred Meyer jeweler's? I did not because as a confirmed bachelor I have had no reason to patronize that part of the store. Someday \_(ツ)_/ And their in-house Starbucks? Passable. The staff really are the best and my Fred Meyer Rewards card has paid for itself time and again. read more

Fred Meyer is now a part of Kroger. Since Kroger took over the store has gradually changed. Products I like have disappeared, shelves have many empty spaces. Quality keeps diminishing. At first the bakery was a wonderful place but recently quality has taken a backseat. I went in and was looking for cupcakes for a girl's night I was attending. I found some cupcakes with no label on it, three chocolate and three vanilla. To say the least, no one was around for me to ask, I stepped to the corner of the counter and called for someone. The young woman that walked to me made me feel I was bothering her. Come to find out it was a "Neapolitan" cupcake. I got the cupcakes to the girl's night and found that the "icing" was made out of whipped cream and foam so it dissolved to nothing. Cutting corners. Worst of all none of it had no flavor. I will never go back to Fred Meyers bakery, I have heard some good things of the Safeway bakery however. read more

There's nothing we thrive off of more than to have a customer go home highly satisfied and smiling. We are trained that if a customer asks you for anything, you drop whatever it was that you were doing and assist the customers needs completely and fully. The 3 A's are one of our famous sayings, which is to first Acknowledge, Assist, and finally Appreciate. I've seen people get nearly fired for sighing when a customer asks for assistance whilst the employee was occupied with stocking. We have tried many items from the gourmet looking pastry case at Fred Meyers. First was the Boston Cream Pie (cake) which had a wide piping of cream all the way around the outside of cake only to find a miniscule layer of the cream on the inside . The cream layer of the Boston CREAM pie is the namesake. Placing a bogus suggestion of thick cream on the outside is fraudulent. And sadly the cream and cake had no flavor aside from the chocolate ganache. Then tonight we tried the $4.99, 2 1/4 inch square Tiramisu, and the $4.99 Creme Brulee with yellow jelly topping! Both nasty and indelible. How on earth can they charge restaurant prices and smaller than restaurant sizes! We will from this day forward NEVER choose anything from the disappointing, deceitful and distasteful pastry department. It might look tasty but too many corners are cut. Perfect store if you're looking to get pretty much anything. Customer service is good even if you're trying to recycle cans. The cab machines breakdown every 5-10 minutes but you'll always have an employee to quickly fix it up. The bathrooms are very nice. read more
