Absolutely terrible. The store uses an automated phone system with an artificial "customer support" that is unable to direct a call to a human being. Easily located on 185th and Aurora easily located lots of parking, but the store is really gone downhill despite them attempting to do a remodel a few years back the people in the store the crime rate Security walking around everywhere. It just doesn't feel like a safe comfortable place. Yes, they do have a lot of yummy options but I just don't feel safe and comfortable walking around here anymore at this store. It used to be a nice neighborhood and a nicer store. Even the person begging. I asked him how their day was and they said it wasn't that good and they didn't get paid well enough to even lie. We recently ordered salads and sandwiches from Fred Meyer for a graduation party in our department at the local community college. We have typically used other grocers in the area but ended up using the Shoreline Fred Meyer for this event. I was super pleased by the quality of the food. The presentation was stellar, the salads were fresh and all ingredients looked terrific. No wilted leaves or mushy ingredients. Sliders had sufficient fillings and the buns were pillowy and soft. I've purchased groceries here several times and the quality is always consistent but they really kicked it up a notch for our party order. The staff is just great, thank you all for helping make our event great. read more

I can't remember ever having a checkout experience quite like the one I encountered at Zakia's check stand this morning. The customer ahead of me had a large number of groceries that she was bagging herself while Zakia stood by, looking pretty. I had a single quart of eggnog. While I was tapping my credit card, Zakia picked up my wallet and phone from the ledge next to the credit card machine and tried to hand them to the customer still bagging her groceries. I objected, of course. That wasn't all Zakia did. She said to me, "You're good to go." I started to leave before realizing that my egg nog was still sitting, out of reach, to Zakia's right on the conveyor belt. She did not hand me the receipt. Instead, she placed it face down on top of a messy pile of coupons. I could not have exited the store without showing my receipt to the security guard. Even if today was Zakia's first day of work, I will never understand how she can think It was appropriate to touch, much less pick up and hand off, another person's extremely sensitive and valuable personal property. The thing to do is to SPEAK and ask the customer bagging her groceries if the wallet and phone belonged to her. I also would have preferred to wait while Zakia did her job and bagged those groceries herself. read more

Fred Meyer pharmacy - the tall older guy with salt and pepper hair- phony, pretends to be nice while is really curt, deaf, and is a unfortunate liability for a once nice pharmacy. He wants you to repeat you date of birth multiple times, and louder each time. When you ask for an estimate of the wait time for your prescription he says, I don't give estimates" in a high, nose in the air tone. This is the worst in customer service, someone who thinks they are great and helpful but in reality they are dismissive, and curt. I bet he would be up and arms if someone else dared to speak to him or one of his family members the way he spoke to me this afternoon. I pretty much only shop here anymore out of desperation. Customer service is terse, not a lot of selection, and prices are sky high. Sometimes they demand to see receipts when you are leaving, sometimes they don't. You never know. Not a very welcoming or comfortable place to shop. read more

The entrance to the right reeks so badly every time I go through it. I finally realized it's because the bathrooms are near there. I can smell it all the way into the freezer aisles and a couple after to the left. This store location is extremely busy, so the checkout lines - both cashiered and self checkout ones hang out into the walkways and further, especially on weekends and even on weekday afternoons. For the longest time, they never opened the self checkout area by the bathrooms, but they finally did last Saturday. I was so surprised and didn't notice it until too late on my way out. I've been waiting over a year or even longer for it. The person working the seafood area was very nice and helpful, but the signs on the glass are confusing about what fish come with free seasonings to choose from. The alcohol section is sectioned off, so you have to pay before continuing shopping if you buy any alcohol from there. There's not much room at the cashier there, so people should only pay for alcohol and a few small things at most over there or else it takes forever with their one cashier. I grew up by the Greenwood Fred Meyer and visited the Lake City one regularly for a few years, and those ones are way bigger and nicer inside than the Shoreline store. This one is more grocery store focused, while the others are like a grocery and department store mix with better clothing and electronics selections. read more

Okay, we're up again. Tired of being shorted on my Fred Meyer deliveries via Instacart, now that I am mobile again, I started shopping directly in the store. What a difference! Things are in stock and on sale that are NOT on the online ordering point of sale. Namely, hamburger, eggs, milk, and bread. Not to mention, at the front of the store, every week they have a huge bin of things for $1.00, $1.25 each like cake mix, Pringles, movie candy boxes, and chips. I usually can't get past that without hitting at least $15. Best cuts of meat I have seen locally. Choice cuts or better. Hamburger was on sale for $5.40 for 3 lbs., $1.80 a lb.! Excellent produce, this department is well managed and they always have fresh items available. Don't have to dig deep to find something good. If you can, find Mary's aisle. She's so fast I couldn't even finish unloading last time before she had caught up. Plus, paper and plastic combos are back a while now. Strength and portability. Excellent selection of everything you need on one level. My go-to store. Why not five stars? People sometimes skip over them. read more

Too bad this is the closest Fred Meyer to my house. I just bought some food that EXPIRED IN APRIL its pretty much September now and it was displayed on the end shelf as a new item I didn't even leave the parking lot when I noticed the expiration date and went in to return it and let them know. The customer service girls were BOTH so rude and disrespectful They said they wouldnt return the expired rotten food I purchased not even 10 mins ago because they had already closed the till at customer service. Why would the till be closed out before the store is even closed? People are still checking out the doors are still open and its not even 10 o'clock. The store closes at 10 and this implies they're OPEN until 10 am I wrong? But they're closed for any transactions before 10 so the doors are open but their till isalready counted and put away before the store is even closed. So im just assed out the 4 bucks cuz I left that rotten food on the counter and left without the refund. Sorry girlies but no I am NOT taking that expired stinky gross rotten food home with me so I can bring it back in the morning. U can keep your smelly mold and my 4 bucks because I refuse to take that crap home with me. And no I didn't know it was rotten because it was in a sealed container and yes I opened it when I noticed the expiration date. I can only wonder how much of their food is beyond expired. Fuck this store. They always overcharge and never honor their sale prices. When you go to try and correct something at customer service there's 50 people in line and one person working. Last time I wasted my entire lunch break trying to get my money back for something they overcharged me for and when it was finally my turn the lady went on her break. I'll never return to this store. This Fred Meyer chain is near to our place. For a new resident of Washington it was confusing as to which grocery chain to stick to. I mean to our surprise grocery in Seattle is expensive than Los Angeles. Hmm. Going through the other chain stores like Safeway and QFC we found Fred Meyer to be somewhat better. They have ample of parking space available. They have weekly deals and coupons which you can get when you sign up for them. I haven't received and any coupons in the mail as I was told but I have downloaded their App on which I can see those coupons and save them on my Fred Meyer rewards card which at check out is applied. We purchased Fuji apples from this store and they were very yummy and juicy. They not only keep grocery but other stuff as well. More like an expensive Walmart if you will. read more

ZERO stars. My hope is that Kroger will close this location and if they aren't going to close it, it needs to be put on their closure list. I shop at many Fred Meyers in the area and this Shoreline site is consistently by far the worst one due to how unpleasant their staff act. In-store staff are always rude and even the ClickList staff has left half of my orders on the shelf several times. I get home and have to drive back to get the rest of my groceries which wastes both my time and fuel. The in-store employees here are hostile to customers and have awful customer service skills. Another thing I truly dislike about shopping here is the employee paranoia about customer shoplifting and the creepy security guards who work at the store. It ruins what should be a pleasant shopping experience entirely. In particular, there is a thin elderly woman with clown makeup who staffs the self checkout registers and a weird old security dude with white hair that wears a cross who are racist and particularly nasty to customers, profile them and treat everyone as shoplifters. To avoid these two morons, I've happily taken my money to Costco, Trader Joes, PCC, Safeway, and Town & Country Market where I feel welcomed and shop in peace. This Fred Meyer location is nasty and I will happily drive out of my way to every competitor possible. I used to spend tens of thousands of dollars at Fred Meyer every year but this store is so awful you will never receive a dime from me ever again. read more

So I contacted the pharmacy to get some refills and a woman I spoke with on the phone states she's not going to fax my drs office for more refills but she claims there's no such refills left. She doesn't know how to do her job. It's the pharmacy's job to contact the drs office when a refill runs out. She also claims there's no such medication on file which is a bold face lie since they've been my pharmacy for a long time. This is my local FM, so I'm here pretty often. It's really hit or miss. Since the big remodel it seems like there has been less staff manning the checkouts, though more staff milling around. The self checkouts reign supreme, which would be great if not for the people with carts FULL of groceries checking out there. (can we get an express self check out y'all?). I still haven't figured out where they moved items to after the remodel which can be really frustrating at times. That being said, it's open fairly late and half of the time I can grab what I need and get out with a minimum of fuss and muss, and their sales can be pretty good. Convenience is what keeps me coming back, but I wish the experience could be better. read more

I was so excited to come here as it's part of the northwest experience in my opinion. They did away with the indoor seating since COVID and there's just a small Starbucks inside. Sushi is a bunch of California rolls and they have some fried chicken options. Even the local Ralph's does a better job of sandwiches and food options. Ended up turning around and leaving. The self check-out line took too long, the employee in charge working slowly, not noticing us (or others) and the machines consistently getting stuck. Though it's conveniently located, just off of 99, it seems that we either arrived when the store was short-staffed, or it is managed in such a way that saving money is better than assisting their customers. read more

This Fred Meyer has been renovated over the years and it is fun to see how merchandise and layout change with the times. Nowadays the electronics section is smaller that it used to be. The grocery section has been greatly expanded. The arts section is still solid and a place I go when looking for some basic supplies. The office/school supplies section consistently has what I am looking for. The sporting, outdoor, and home sections also have a wide range of products that have helped me gear up appropriately over the years. I mostly come here for groceries and home/gardening supplies these days. But the tides change, so who knows what's next. Though groceries, art supplies, and office/school supplies have always been a constant for me. The service has always been friendly. There are multiple self check-out areas now in addition to the cashiers. read more

Been going to this particular Fred Meyer on a routine basis when my long time Safeway, became a Haggen, then reverted back to a Safeway. Clearly they have identity issues. However, my well worn, totally ghetto Fred Meyer has remained true. Other locations are huge (Ballard, Lake City, Northpointe) or glam (Greenwood)...the one in Shoreline makes do with its current arrangement but excels with competitive prices, decent quality, great assortment, and fantastic checkout staff. Yes, I also shop at Trader Joe's and Central Market, but Fred Meyer remains consistent across the board to get more bang for the buck, discount fuel prices, and a rewards program. Plus key draw, it's a time saver to do 'one stop shopping'. They originated as local, until Kroger bought them out but allowed them to retain their identity. First impression store disorganized and dirty. I had an item that was supposed to be 50% off no coupon needed it was not 50% off did not realize it until as I was walking out the door. My sister had multiple items that was supposed to be 50% off with coupon at register the cashier scanned the wrong coupons said it didn't work then after catching my sister out. The correct coupon blamed it on us.... We had to go to the customer service desk and then we were told oh you have to put in your rewards card... this is absolutely the worst customer service I've ever gotten from a Fred Meyer in any state. read more

Huge shoutout and thank you to Amber and Connor in the home department!!! I had called to inquire about a certain stuffed animal I was looking for, and Amber was so sweet and kind over the phone! She informed me that they had put them out a few days prior, and that a decent chunk of them had been sold. I asked if she could find a specific one for me, to which she said that she didn't see it on the shelves, but could call me back if she finds it in the back stock room. I quickly drove over there to see if there were any others that I liked, and I believe a manager informed me that Amber and Connor were about to start putting some more out. As they unloaded the boxes, Amber and Connor let me grab all of the ones I liked! I was able to get a TON for my family members as well, and they were so excited when I told them! Amber kept checking the back to see if she could find any that I was missing and needed, and Connor asked if I needed a certain one before he put it on the shelves. This was literally THE BEST Fred Meyers experience I've ever had! Amber and Connor truly made my day, and brought me and my family so much joy. I know this all sounds crazy over a stuffed animal, but my family and I are a huge collector, so I've been looking everywhere for them. 3 lanes open the day before local schools start! The management of this store has gone way downhill since the start of the renovation. Save your the hassel and go somewhere else. To top it all off they dont ring up any of the rewards or coupons. Only go for pharmacy and some groceries. Usually just use pick up window: will not shop for long periods of time due to store not being tidy and mask rules not being followed. Theft is rampant here and they have 2 armed guards who don't do a damn thing. The tall black gentleman at the apparel doors is always so nice to me and everyone else. Lots of junkies here. Come Armed if you shop here. I give 3 stars because the awesome pharmacy technicians. They lose 2 stars due to store cleanliness; not enforcing rules and allowing theft and transients to become out of control. read more

Visited on 4/16. Great experience. I came in to buy some tools after moving and a dining room table set caught my eye along with a new rug at 20% off. Both items were cheaper than IKEA's prices and better quality, too. Asked for help and someone radioed for a manager who met me fast. He directed me to meet him in the back of the store to pick up the furniture after payment. When he met him to get the furniture, I waited for about 10 minutes then called the store. He came out right away and told me in the future there's a call box on the wall. Didn't see it! Since the box with all of the parts was too large to fit in my car, he unloaded the table top and I carried the rest. He covered the table top with some foam to protect it so it wouldn't get dinged or scratched on the drive home. One thing that I learned that wasn't the best experience was that if you are paying with a check for the first time, Fred Meyer's system won't let it be processed, regardless of your credit. They require a process to make sure it's you and not someone writing fraudulent checks. Save yourself time and just use a card. read more

The rudest Fred Meyer in the PNW! I'm a lifelong Freddy's shopper, been in dozens of stores over three decades. In this location today I had 5 different employees ignore me during my half hr visit in the store, making eye contact and walking away when I was waiting for assistance at the deli and fish counters. An old woman working literally scowled at me and said "no" when I said "Hi, excuse me, do you know if anyone is working the counter that can help me?" What a joke!! Took over ten minutes to get fish (I found out the fish counter guy saw me and made eye contact with me several minutes prior but didn't care to come out and help.) No hi, no how can I help you, just came out with a nasty look on his face and didn't even wrap the fish nicely. Sadly not the first time I've seen nasty mean behavior from staff here either. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on. Treat customers with a maybe a little tiny drop of respect!! read more

At this point in the pandemic, I try to avoid Kroger brand stores (Fred Meyer, QFC here locally) because of all the places I shop (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, PCC), they take the pandemic, by far, least seriously. Social distancing is often abysmal, stores can get overcrowded--there doesn't seem to be any occupancy metering at any Fred Meyers that I've been to since last March. The reason I've chosen to rate *this* one right now (I also sometimes go to Greenwood and Ballard locations, which are equally as bad at social distancing) is because *this* one, on Aurora, also often smells like old bleach rags, especially as you pass the north main entryway. I used to primarily go to the Aurora location, but have literally switched to making the Greenwood spot my primary Fred Meyers (when I need to go) because this one smells truly funky. read more

We;ve lived a few blocks from this location for 8-9 years now, and there is 1 thing they are absolutely CONSISTENT on....when they advertise a good sale item, they're OUT, shelf is empty. Everytime! ESPECIALLY meat items. At first, I used to defend them and say "oh, they have someone new doing purchasing/inventory, etc. After 9 years of 'consistently' being sold out (1st day of sale, it's 7am & you open at 6am, you're "sold out"? Everyday, for the entirety of the sale? NOT!!! Ok, so go wait in line for a raincheck, IF you have the time....good luck! This is not an accident, it's a policy! I have been shopping here since the beginning. They just finished their big remodel and the store is really nice with quality produce. I do not however like to check out and bag my own groceries. I am choosing to shop at their store and spend my money with them. In return I expect them to provide me with someone to ring up and bag my purchases. Every since the remodel they are pushing everyone to use the self check aisles and providing so few checkers that waiting lines horrible. I don't want to and will not check and bag my groceries... I have other stores to choose from so I think I will not be going to Freddies until they fix it!!! read more
