    Affogato with Stracciatella gelato
    Dominic E.

The affogato with the stracciatella gelato was delicious. The service was fast and neutral...which worked well for me. I would definitely come back for the same thing.

Was super excited to try Freddo since it was my first time since trying it in Buenos Aires 10 years ago. They had the best gelato! There wasn't as much selection compared to the different shops I visited but it was plenty compared to places here in ATL. I wanted a dark chocolate but none that I tried were dark enough and everything was way too sweet compared to other ice cream shops...I ended up with the banana chocolate and raspberry. Raspberry was good as the acidity helped cut how sweet the banana was.

New gelato shop in Chamblee. Same complex as Real Taco and Lagarda. Friday night, so parking is tough, it's a "hot" area these days. Nice store front and interior, friendly, helpful staff. The two flavors I tried were packed with flavor and delicious. Two scoops in a waffle cone is $8.00. But I think the owners need to standardize the serving sizes. Not two scoops comparative to other gelatos and ice creams I've had elsewhere. They are new, so I will try again later, hope the serving size improves.

We were able to try samples of the various flavors - my favorites being the banana split and the mascarpone.

The rolls are priced around $2.50 each and were soft and fresh. I went with the red bean bun and taro bun. Both were buttery and delicious, although they could use a little more filling. The store is small so there is more limited options compared to the larger bakeries, but I love supporting a smaller business and they still have a nice variety.

For $26, I got a ton of food and 90% of it was absolutely delectable. And I say that with an 8-year-old in tow who enjoyed it too! Let's start with the never again item: the Flossy Bun. It's a popular Chinese pastry made with soft, sweet bread filled and topped with sweet and savory pork floss... allegedly. There weren't any descriptions, so I looked it up online. But let me tell you--no. Just no. I don't get how it's popular. Definitely a cultural preference, and it's not for me. I even paused mid-bite hoping I'd grow into the flavor. Nope. Then there was the Coffee Butter Cream Pastry. I thought at the very least my fiancée would like it since she enjoys coffee flavors. That was another miss. I even gave some to two little ones, and the faces they made reminded me of the time I tried canned octopus. That's how bad the flavor was. But now to the good stuff--because the rest? Fire. BBQ Pork Bun - Yummy! Not packed with meat, but enough to enjoy and super easy to pull apart. I really wish they offered a heated option for this, because that would've put it over the top. Japanese Milk Cream Bun - Super creamy. I do wish it had just a little more cream inside, but the bread was so soft and delicious, I honestly didn't care. Hot Dog Cheese Bun - I got this for the little one and I've never seen a child eat something so fast. I'm taking that as a solid win. Egg Tart - Grabbed this from the front warmer after watching another customer snag one. I had missed it earlier. Not totally my thing on its own, but when I got home and added a little chili paste? Devoured. Hong Kong Boba Milk Tea - I went with this instead of the brown sugar version and kind of regret it, but it wasn't bad at all. All in all, the prices are great, the flavors were mostly on point, and the man at the register was super friendly and open to answering questions. Yeah--I'm sold. Looking forward to coming back!

The girl that got our ice cream was darling and so kind. She was the best! Made it an even better experience. I had rocky road (my favorite) and it was possibly the best I've ever had. And peppermint with real peppermint stick broken up in the ice cream. Really top notch with such creamy goodness. Ok now we are going to head over there and have it again!! Highly recommend!! And there were about 6 guys in line in front of us on a BERY cold night. They had been there before and highly recommended it as well! Update:we did go back and it was justvsooo good again. Whitney is the girl who helped us again. She is personable, professional and delightful! I'd hire her for many jobs! The other gals were very nice too! Great place!

It's also right on the train tracks so if you're lucky, you'll spot one passing by. I got the Chocolate Peanut Butter scoop in a cup. It's a chocolate base with clumps of peanut butter generously spread throughout. It wasn't the most amazing ice cream I've ever had but definetly fit the bill. It did however come in a generic styrofoam cup, which I feel is a missed opportunity to have some fun branding since their location is so unique. The worker was very polite, although she did have an AirPod in which was a little off-putting. The whole place was decked out in Christmas decor which was a fun seasonal touch. There's a parking lot attached that is quite large. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out.

I guess I must've written it off due to the parking situation, and I honestly would've never visited, but a friend suggested coming here, so here I am. It's very, very limited parking. I'm not sure if we're *allowed* to park in the nearby parking lots, and I didn't have to, but if there's only like 6 spaces with barely enough space for cars to pass through entering and exiting... idk, it's not for me, esp when Doraville can get v traffick-y and the turn lanes are just waiting. Interior wise, it's cute. It tries to invoke a sense of Japanese aesthetic with the shoji panels, all the wood and light, the fake flowers, and I don't hate it. It's a fine place to sit and chat, though I feel bad for others who want to visit because again, the parking here sucks. I got their black sesame latte float with a matcha and sakura (seasonal flavor) swirl. The sakura was sweeter than anticipated and not floral, which was a bit disappointing since I didn't like it alone or mixing with the matcha flavor. The black sesame portion was fine. I like the nuttiness of black sesame in general, and I would've loved if they used more for a stronger flavor. The flavor was subtle, and with the ice and soft serve on top, got easily diluted.

This is also the first time I've seen vegan pineapple buns (I didn't try them though)! I got the regular Hong Kong style pineapple buns and thought they were decent! The bread wasn't as fluffy as I wanted them but the crust was not bad. It wasn't super flaky or thick but still I would eat this bun again! $2.10 for a bun. I also tried their traditional milk tea and added boba. I wasn't a huge fan of the boba since it's the slightly harder kind and not the round black chewy tapioca balls, but it was okay. The tea itself was a little sweet so if there's a next time I would ask for less sugar! Their coffee toast was really tasty! It's so fluffy and yet part of it tastes like coffee cake! I've never tasted anything like that! The person at the counter was really nice as well!
